Search results net different results depending on where you search from, the structure of the app itself is confused and again, limits what you see depending on the path you take (when trying to buy things, choose your own adventure isn’t ideal; I should consistently see the same selection of, say, red wines with the same filters netting the same results in a single shopping experience), and when I downloaded the app to a new device I had to enter my address and directions for delivery before I had the option to log in, and then THAT was an endless loop. Just rude responses It be fair; I received a sincere/professional reply from the developer and offer to review my concerns. I do not wish to continue this matter but did want to thank the developer. I was polite to your staff and it’s too bad they don’t do business as you do. ### 5/5 — Where’s my order? *2020-04-10, version 4.2.8* I placed an order, which I was charged for, that I did not receive and is now marked as “delivered” in the app. I was not contacted in anyway to be notified of delivery, my $150 order is now nowhere to be found. The security at my building checked the cameras for me and no one even entered during the time they “delivered” my order. I immediately gave multiple attempts to contact the company via email, phone and online chat with no answer on their end. Obviously they don’t ask for ID at the door. ### 5/5 — Runner *2020-04-09, version 4.2.8* I highly recommend this new app. When I experienced a glitch and wrote in, Runner responded very quickly and rectified the problem. Great service. Keep up the good work.👍🏿 ### 2/5 — Higher prices for less service - here what’s wrong *2020-03-13, version 4.2.4* I really wanted to love this app because I would rather have things delivered and save my own time doing anything other than driving in downtown Toronto traffic. But there are some inherent problems that make this app’s business model untenable. First: Cost The prices are marked up a few dollars per bottle more than the LCBO. Fine I get it. All the other delivery services have marked up food prices too. But then there is also a larger $10 delivery fee on top of that. Add to that a driver tip, and your order of a couple bottles of wine includes fees equivalent to about $20. Second: Accuracy & Thoughtfulness The drivers keep screwing up my orders. I have had to contact the company on multiple occasions to get a refund. Latest time was due to the driver not picking up 2, 1.5 litre bottles of the wine - which I paid $125 bucks for. Driver shows up with 2 750ml bottles. When questioned, he claimed they didn’t have the 1.5L. Ok fine. Why didn’t you pick up 4 750ml bottles? I had “OK with replacements” checked exactly for that eventuality. Pretty sure the driver messed up and didn’t want to admit it. I’m not even sure if I was refunded the correct amount. I’m sure the driver probably for the full tip. Third: Promptness My orders have been delivered in a reasonable amount of time once in a while. Latest order took about an hour. Not bad. Not great though since I only live a 10 minute drive away from LCBO (as does everyone in Toronto). My use case for such a service is: If it’s quick and reasonably priced, I’ll get it delivered and do something I enjoy with the time I’ve saved, like cooking, rather than drive and get it myself. Over an hour doesn’t work for me if I’m preparing dinner after getting home from work and I want wine with dinner. Is the service better than nothing? Absolutely. Are there better alternatives out there that are priced more fairly, are more accurate, and arrive much much faster? Absolutely, and I regret to say that is why I’m deleting the app. A popular food delivery company in my area beats Runner in every category. No marked up bottles. Delivery is $4 cheaper. But most importantly, my orders aren’t messed up, there is no question of what I paid for vs what I got, and they are delivered in a reasonable time. Like 15 minutes consistently. Hopefully this review can help the people at Runner fix what’s broken. I don’t want them to close up shop. I had to use a web browser to create an account after repeatedly getting the “oops:)” error message. Lots of weird errors like no way to close the forgot password send email modal, didn’t even email me anyway. If I don’t have an account and I try to see if I just forgot my password, the whole app shouldn’t just break. You have to turn off all notifications for Runner from Settings to get them to stop — and they are frequent. Always delivered within about 2 hours to my door.
