### 2/5 — Headlines based on research

*2023-08-26, version 6.12*

Bit dismaying when reading multiple headline articles stating new study finds….. to then find the research is not generalisable due to sample, sample size and even mouse populations.appreciate many studies for example are from masters students and lack of large scale rigorous studies added to which non publication bias from commercial sponsors. But today on returning to Runners World after a break and having missed it! - am now questioning decision to subscribe. Could you present these small studies together as a clearly preliminary or interesting small study and where this adds/ conflicts to others rather than as a headline and to sell the mag- doesn’t then deliver

### 3/5 — Be warned they are slow putting the magazines on it

*2020-05-10*

Have kept on having to email each month as despite the new issue being released according to their website it doesn’t appear on the app, (and try restore each time before I do). They clear either have a technical issue updating the app or someone who is supposed to make sure it happens and can’t be a**** to (although I would have thought it should be automatic. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — An app without purpose

*2017-11-18*

Does anyone know why this app exists? There is absolutely nothing that can be done with it. There isn’t even anywhere to log in let alone try to search for events. Please delete it altogether until you can come up with an app that can be used for searching for races.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-10-04*

Can’t access previously bought issues, which is ridiculous. Deleting the app now

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2017-08-31*

This app is so infuriating it's lead me to cancel my subscription, whenever I close the app for even a couple of minutes I have to log out and log back in again to read the magazine. I'll still be logged in but it says I don't have an active subscription. Log out, log in again and my subscription is back. It's just a pain when you want to flick through the magazine, I'll be moving to another magazine

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2017-08-03*

Never works - blocks me past page 6 or 10 which are just adverts. Hearst never bothers to reply or deal with the issues.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2017-07-17*

Cant access content

### 1/5 — Lucy

*2017-05-29*

Have paid extra for e-book and paper copy. Am logged in. Can't read it since an upgrade just after I subscribed. It keeps saying I can only read preview and must subscribe (pay money) to read further than p7. What's going on?! Rubbish!

### 1/5 — Crap

*2017-04-25*

It's really crap. Even though it says I'm logged in I have to log out and log in again every time I want to read further. Really bad that not much effort is done with a decent app to perform the main function everyone is paying for!

### 1/5 — App doesn't work. Email assistance v.poor.

*2017-04-20*

As others have described this app blocks, unloads downloads, asks me to log in continuously and never seems to hold any memory of what's already been dowloaded. All in all for me it's been completely useless so I'll be scrapping my subscription at the first chance. I did try to resolve via an email enquiry and several weeks later I was asked if I had updated iOS on my iPhone and if I'd checked the online FAQs - which of course I had already before emailing and had explained in my initial email enquiry asking for help so, again, all very disappointing in terms of product and product support.

### 1/5 — Frustrating!

*2017-04-14*

The magazine works really well in an online format. However, the necessity to constantly log back in to the App and restore my purchase diminished the reading experience. App enhancements needed!

### 1/5 — Spending more time messing with the App than reading

*2017-04-13*

It doesn't seem to work for me, not recognising my subscription, telling me I don't have access to the content etc. I have to keep reinstalling the app, downloading the issue, and it works for a bit then blocks me again.

### 1/5 — Dreadful

*2017-03-06, version 6.0*

Shockingly bad. I have to reregister and reinstall to read each new issue. Previous issues inaccessible. Customer support unresponsive and when they do get in touch unhelpful. I won't be renewing. I wish I had seen these reviews before I bought.

### 1/5 — Rubbish!

*2017-03-06, version 6.0*

Every month when the new magazine is ready I have to delete the app, re-download it and log in again just to read it. Such a frustrating waste of time. Won't be renewing subscription.

### 1/5 — Beware of false promises

*2017-02-18, version 6.0*

I used the app and then stopped training for 3 years. Now I want to go back I opened the app and saw that any issue that I have paid for, that is more than 12 months old is no longer mine to read. But I paid for it! If this was a hard copy they could not take it back.
My advice DONT USE THIS APP!
Unless they fix it

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2017-02-17, version 6.0*

Do not buy this. Cannot access specials and monthly magazines disappear. Customer support are a joke

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-07-13*

Terrible App, silver subscription membership yet can’t access the plan other than on the app which is very clunky. App constantly crashes, sign in page constantly gives error and there is no way to view the plans another than through the app. Tried to contact support and got nothing back.

### 1/5 — Lost access to plans

*2025-05-04*

Very frustrated at not being able to access training plans. Long standing subscriber to RW and used them before easily.
Totally unclear what subscriber level I am and what that should allow me.

### 1/5 — Bookmarks

*2024-01-08*

Bookmarks don’t sync and no progression tracker so pretty rubbish as I read across multiple devices.
Not a very good alternative to the printed magazine which is a shame.

### 1/5 — Cannot access the app

*2023-11-18*

I’ve been trying to access the app for over a month now, it tells me the customer number is not recognised! It’s becoming infuriating.

### 1/5 — Ripped off

*2023-05-30*

All but three of the specials that I bought for £9.99 have been removed from the app. Ever feel like you’ve been conned? I do.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2021-03-25*

App is unusable at the moment, it just crashes after a few minutes. Tried to re-install several times, but no luck

And even if it worked, it is just a basic pdf reader, no chance to resize if using larger or smaller screens

### 1/5 — Does not refresh

*2020-07-04*

Last month I had to wait a couple of weeks after the issue hit the streets before it appeared on the app. This month it appeared yesterday and I started reading it but when I went back it had disappeared. I still can’t get this months issue and I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Will be cancelling my subscription first chance I get.

### 1/5 — Publishing delays

*2020-05-18*

Time and time again Hearst fail to upload the digital magazine to this app. The June 2020 issue was published on April 30, but as of today (May 18) the issue is still not on the app.

Emails take ten days minimum to be responded to, if you’re lucky!

During a phone call today they told me the fault was mine, that I should delete the app and reload it. I did that during the conversation and the were not happy when I told them it still wasn’t there when I opened the app again.

Basically, terrible app and terrible customer service from a publisher of many magazines in the UK!

### 1/5 — I don’t get the point of this app

*2020-03-03*

It would have been better as a properly sized PDF. Double tap to zoom and the page is hardly readable. I waste tome
Scrolling left and right to even read an article. It actually doesn’t size to screen, so you basically spend your time struggling to read because the digital
layout is so unhelpful. I love Runners World but this app
is a disappointment for anyone with a digital-only subscription.

### 1/5 — Runners World UK

*2018-04-26, version 6.7*

App is very poor - frequently locks me out necessitating full password resets, etc.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A must for runners!

*2024-03-22*

I find it really helpful for motivation to keep up my running. It is also packed with genuinely good advice from all different types of runners. The articles can be interesting and very informative with lots of advice on nutrition and other things you can do to improve your running and you to your first Park Run or that elusive PB

### 5/5 — Inaccessible

*2017-09-16, version 6.1*

I paid the subscription and then there was no way of accessing the content when I tried a couple of months later; no way to get a reminder of the username and password; tried to call the help desk and no way to get through. I've had to cancel my sub which is a shame because I really rate the print version

### 5/5 — A load of old log

*2017-09-11*

Very frustrating to have to log in every time to use it. Surely not beyond the whit of man to fix that pearler?

But on the plus side, neat graphics, navigation, scroll, zoom, pinch etc ... And saves trees. But not logs.

Will revert to paper print if the log issue persists, and that's not good for anyone.

### 5/5 — M

*2017-02-03*

Great to read while on the move. Though can have a feature of notifying when a new issue is available for download.

### 5/5 — Runners World on IPad

*2015-07-21, version 4.0.21*

Does exactly what it says on the tin. It's the electronic version of Runners World. If you are like me and prefer to read on your iPad then this is for you. I have no idea what some of the reviewers are on about. £3.99 is a fair price, you can subscribe to make it even cheaper, it is great quality, it doesn't crash. What more do you want ? Ok, it's not interactive like some other publications but so what. Love it, subscribed back in 2012 and back on again. If you like the magazine the there is no reason why you wouldn't want this. I use an iPad 3 and can say it works perfectly on that. Had an iPad 1 in 2012 and that was fine too. Thanks for reading.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-08-06*

If u can't find it, it's in your newsstand

### 5/5 — Very useful magazine!

*2012-09-19*

I'm everyday runner and this magazine give me many useful tips!

### 5/5 — Great App! Don't listen to the whiners

*2011-12-04*

People really think someone will give their magazine away for free? The APP is free but like 95% of the magazines in the world there is a subscription price and the description spells this out for the ones who actually take the time to read it. The content is great and there's nothing better than being able to read multiple issues on a single device. For all runners of every level this is a must have!

### 5/5 — 구입 목록 삭제요

*2011-12-03*

목록 삭제요

### 5/5 — Great app

*2011-10-26*

It's like any other magazine people, if you like It you buy it plain and simple. All this magazines offer subscriptions. If you are use to getting Magazines you know what to spect otherwise stop spec ting to get things for free...
