## What is RunPilot?

Starting your first run, building a habit, improving everyday fitness, or training for a 5K, 10K, or half marathon? RunPilot brings run tracking, structured workouts, audio guidance, and post-run analysis into one app—approachable for beginners and detailed enough for committed runners.

Built by RunPilot, the app lets you run with iPhone or start supported workouts directly on Apple Watch. Free runs, goal runs, intervals, tempo sessions, and long runs all move through one connected flow: plan, run, review. There is no social feed or public leaderboard.

START WITHOUT THE COMPLEXITY
• Start a free run or set a distance, time, pace, or heart-rate goal
• Track GPS route, distance, duration, pace, heart rate, calories, and splits
• Countdown, pause, resume, finish, weak-GPS feedback, and interrupted-run recovery
• Useful for run/walk beginnings, everyday cardio, fitness goals, and mileage building—with no promised weight-loss or performance outcome

TURN RUNNING INTO TRAINING
• Intervals, tempo sessions, long runs, recovery runs, and multi-stage workouts
• Structured plans for 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and other goals
• Custom workout stages, targets, and reminders
• Purpose-written Chinese or English coaching audio based on the app language

RUN WITH APPLE WATCH
• Start supported free runs, goal runs, and course workouts from Apple Watch
• See key metrics and control the workout from your wrist
• Sync completed runs back to iPhone for full history and reports

UNDERSTAND EVERY RUN
• Route, splits, heart-rate zones, elevation, running dynamics, and training load
• History, calendar, and trends for mileage, pace, and heart rate
• Personal bests, same-route comparison, and annual recap
• Route replay, post-run reflections, and shareable report cards

YOUR DATA, YOUR SPACE
• No RunPilot account required, no ads, no social feed, and no third-party analytics SDK
• Run data is saved locally first
• When signed in to iCloud, supported app data can sync automatically to your own private iCloud database without a RunPilot-operated backend
• Apple Health data is read or written only after you grant permission
• Simplified Chinese and English, Dark Mode, Dynamic Type, and Reduce Motion support

RunPilot is free to download and includes essential running and report features. RunPilot Pro adds unlimited history, unlimited custom plans, the full course library, advanced charts, training load, same-route comparison, annual recap, and additional reporting and sharing tools. Pro is available as a monthly auto-renewing subscription, a yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Your localized price is shown before purchase.

Eligible new subscribers can start Yearly with a seven-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews at the localized yearly price shown on the purchase screen unless canceled before the trial ends. The App Store determines eligibility; users who are not eligible see the standard Yearly subscription. Monthly and Lifetime do not include a free trial.

Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account settings and restore eligible purchases inside RunPilot. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase and does not renew.

RunPilot provides training records and general fitness guidance, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Train within your abilities. Stop exercising and seek qualified help if you feel unwell.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-19

A refreshed look
• New RunPilot icons and launch animation, with consistent branding across iPhone, Apple Watch, Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen Live Activities and Dynamic Island
• Choose from five App icons in Settings

An easier first launch
• Redesigned onboarding with clearer permission guidance, weekly goal setup and Apple Watch introduction, plus improved Dark Mode visuals
• Review key usage information on one screen, with access to the full agreements, highlighted terms and an explicit confirmation step
• iCloud sync now starts after you confirm the usage notice
• Fixed unexpected navigation after going back during permission setup, and improved transitions between cloud restore and weekly goal setup

### 1.2 — 2026-10-15

Badges
• New badge collection: first run, single-run distances, total distance, number of runs, weekly consistency, early-morning and night runs, holidays, climbing, completed plans and more — earned automatically from your runs, including past ones
• New badges come with a celebration; spin a badge to see both sides, or share it as an image
• See newly earned badges right on Home and the Profile tab

Goals
• New period goals, such as "Run 120 km this month" — every run in the period counts toward it, and reaching it earns a goal badge
• New Goal progress widget for the Home Screen and Lock Screen

Sharing and safety
• New photo cards: pick a photo, add a cutout shape, filter and colors, then overlay your run's data and share
• Before you head out or after you finish, send a location link to family via Messages, WeChat and more — you choose who gets it and send it yourself; RunPilot never sends anything for you

Plans and records
• If you walked most of a plan session's jog segments, it no longer counts as done automatically — you choose "Repeat it next time" or "Count it as done"
• Completed sessions are checked off in your plan; long-press one to mark it as not done
• Sessions you mostly walked are saved to Apple Health as walks
• With Apple Watch, calories come straight from the watch's live reading, so there's no wait for sync after you finish
• Runs sync to iCloud as soon as you finish
• Walks recorded on Apple Watch now show cadence and stride
• If you leave the app mid-run and come back, earlier voice cues stay in the run's history
• No heart-rate drift alerts while walking, and recovery runs no longer get a pacing verdict at the end

Plus bug fixes and performance improvements.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-08

More accurate records
• Personal bests now use the fastest segment within a run; existing personal bests are recalculated after you update
• Outdoor distance no longer runs long when GPS drifts
• When you run with Apple Watch, calories come from the watch
• Elevation now removes pressure changes caused by the weather
• Auto-pause now works at traffic lights even when GPS is weak
• History, Home and Data Overview show moving time (pauses excluded)

Smoother to use
• More accurate daily suggestion on Home: a walk or an unfinished attempt no longer replaces your plan's workout for the day, and accidental empty recordings no longer count as today's training
• More measured suggestions on Home: no intervals or tempo runs while you're a beginner, and at most one a week for other runners; choosing "Fresh" no longer turns the day into a hard session; Today's status now leads with today's plan
• Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timers tick every second, stay aligned past the one-hour mark, and clear when the run ends
• Treadmill workouts keep the screen on
• Text follows your system Text Size setting; improved VoiceOver support on iPhone, Apple Watch, the Lock Screen and charts
• Deleting gear, routes or custom plans now asks for confirmation, and error messages are clearer
• Create workout templates directly, and open Voice coach settings from the Run tab
• Faster launch; opening from Shortcuts or a notification skips the splash screen
• Year in review and Training load no longer open the upgrade screen automatically
• Data Overview, Routes and Compare open more smoothly
• Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use right in the app

More reliable
• Stronger protection for your run data, including runs recorded on Apple Watch
• More reliable saving to Apple Health
• Runs synced from your other devices show up right away
• When a run starts on iPhone, current pace now shows on Apple Watch
• Smaller download: voice and background music re-encoded

Plus bug fixes and performance improvements.
