## What is RunReady?

Welcome to RunReady! Your daily Readiness Score and training recommendation. Powered entirely by your Apple Watch data.

"Should I push it today or take it easy?"
Every runner with an Apple Watch has asked this. Your watch tracked your HRV, heart rate, and sleep all night. But in the morning? Silence. No answer. Just raw numbers.

RunReady is the running readiness score your Apple Watch should have had from day one.

Open the app, see your score, get a clear recommendation: "Easy Z2 run, 40–60 min, HR 137–149." Or: "Rest day. HRV dropped 20% overnight." That's it. No 15 dashboards. No guessing. One score, one plan.

YOUR ZONES ARE PROBABLY WRONG

Apple calculates your HR zones with 220 minus your age. That formula has no scientific basis for individual runners. The difference? Up to 20 BPM. Your "Zone 2" might actually be Zone 3 meaning every easy run has been too hard.

RunReady uses the Karvonen method with your actual max HR from real workouts and your true resting HR measured during sleep. Your Zone 2 finally means YOUR Zone 2.

NOT ANOTHER GENERIC RECOVERY SCORE

Most readiness apps give you a number and leave you guessing. RunReady tells you what to RUN:
• Run type: Easy, Tempo, Intervals, Long Run, or Rest
• Duration and pace range
• Target HR zone in BPM
• What's holding you back: "Sleep 15% below your baseline. Reduce volume"

The score respects your weekly training plan. Quality sessions like tempo or intervals are only suggested when your body can actually handle them.

YOUR DATA. YOUR BASELINE. NO BLACK BOX.

Four metrics, each compared to your personal 30-day average:
• HRV: nervous system recovery
• Resting HR: cardiovascular stress
• Training Load: how hard you pushed vs. your norm
• Sleep: duration vs. your personal pattern

A score of 80 doesn't mean you're at 80% of some population benchmark. It means YOU are at 80% of YOUR recovery.

EVERY RUN, AUTOMATICALLY ANALYZED

Your runs are imported from HealthKit and auto-labeled by HR pattern: Easy, Base, Long, Tempo, Intervals, etc. Each run gets zone distribution, an HR chart with cardiac drift, and km splits with pace, heart rate, cadence, and cardiac efficiency. Zero manual tagging.

TRENDS THAT ACTUALLY SHOW PROGRESS

Monthly dashboard with pace trends by zone. Watch your Z2 pace get faster over months at the same heart rate. That's real fitness progress, not a gamified streak counter. Plus cardiac efficiency trends, cadence tracking, and month-over-month volume comparisons.

WAKE UP. GLANCE. LACE UP.

Lock Screen widget shows your readiness score before you unlock your phone. The morning ritual runners actually want.

ZERO FRICTION

No morning HRV readings with your finger on the camera. No "rate your energy 1–10" questionnaires. No food logs. Everything comes from your Apple Watch automatically. Wear it to bed. Wake up. Done.

No subscription or in-app purchases needed. All data stays on your device. No accounts, no cloud, no tracking.

### 3/5 — Schönes Interface aber Inhalt ausbaufähig

*2026-04-27*

Bleib dran!

## Frequently asked questions about RunReady

### What is the RunReady readiness score?

The RunReady readiness score is a daily metric that indicates your body's recovery status, derived from your Apple Watch data. It helps you decide whether to push hard or take it easy with your training.

### How does RunReady calculate heart rate zones?

RunReady uses the Karvonen method, incorporating your actual max heart rate from workouts and your true resting heart rate measured during sleep. This provides more personalized and accurate zones than generic formulas.

### What kind of training recommendations does RunReady provide?

RunReady suggests specific run types (Easy, Tempo, Intervals, Long Run, or Rest), duration, pace range, and target heart rate zones. It also indicates what might be hindering your recovery, such as poor sleep.

### Does RunReady have ads?

No, RunReady does not contain advertisements. It is a paid application designed to provide a focused and uninterrupted user experience.

### What data does RunReady use from my Apple Watch?

RunReady utilizes HRV, resting heart rate, training load, and sleep data from your Apple Watch. It compares these metrics to your personal 30-day average to assess your readiness.

### Can I see my progress over time with RunReady?

Yes, RunReady offers a monthly dashboard that displays trends in pace by zone, cardiac efficiency, cadence, and volume comparisons. This helps you track real fitness progress over months.

### Is RunReady available on Android devices?

Based on the provided data, RunReady is currently only supported on iPhone. It leverages Apple Watch data and HealthKit integrations.

### How often is RunReady updated?

The latest version of RunReady is 2.1, which was last updated on June 6, 2026. This indicates a commitment to ongoing development and improvements.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-06-06

Sleep data from multiple sources
- When several apps track the same sleep (e.g. Apple Watch together with
AutoSleep, Pillow, Oura or Whoop), sleep stages were previously counted
twice. This inflated the reported sleep duration.
- RunReady now picks exactly one source per night: native Apple sleep
analysis takes priority, otherwise the source with the longest actually
  recorded sleep duration.
- Within the chosen source, overlapping sleep stages are merged so each
real minute is counted exactly once.
- Affects both the daily detail (total duration and stages) and the
60-day average that feeds the sleep sub-score of the Readiness Score.

### 2 — 2026-05-20

Dashboard & Activities
- Dashboard filters now open by default with the tab options
(Overview/Details) visible. The time filter is collapsed to a clock
  icon and expands on tap.
- Same behavior in the Activities tab: zone filter (All/Z1–Z5) is open
by default, time filter shown as a clock icon on the left.

Chart Y-axes
- All four charts (Pace, Efficiency, Cadence and Distance per Month)
now show a Y-axis with the most relevant values again.
- The Y-axis is implemented as a fixed left overlay and no longer
  scrolls with the chart content.
- Identical width and left-aligned labels across all charts, aligned
  with each chart's title.
- Fixed vertical alignment between Y-axis and plot area/X-axis
(previously affected the Distance chart in the Overview tab).

Activities list
- Removed the colored dot in front of each entry → rows now align
  cleanly with the year header.
- Zone label (Recovery, Base etc.) shown as a colored pill on the right,
next to the chevron, vertically centered.
- Added a chevron on the right as a clear navigation affordance to the
  individual run detail pages.
