## What is Runsense?

Runsense gets you to your goal, whether that is your first 5K or a hundred-mile ultra.

Tell Runsense about the whole runner: your goal race, your running history, how fit you are today, the days you can run and the rest of your life. Your coach designs the full arc of training from today through your goal and the recovery after it, so you are ready for the next challenge. It has the elements your goal needs: aerobic base, economy and speed, volume and fatigue resistance, and race-specific work, laid out in build weeks, cutback weeks and a taper. Then it coaches you through it. Travel, a missed week, a cold, a strong block of training: your coach reworks the plan the way a sharp human coach would, and tells you why.

Your coach is there 24/7. Question about a workout? Want to understand the training theory behind it? Need to move a session because life happened? Ask, and your coach answers with the reasoning, not just the change.

What you get:

A program built for your race. Not a template with your name on it. Your goal, your history and the week you actually have decide what each week is for.

A coach in your corner. It checks in, asks how a run felt, answers your questions, and reworks the plan when something changes.

Coaching grounded in the runs you actually did. With your permission, your coach reads every run from Apple Health or your connected account: distance, pace, heart rate, elevation. It reads your sleep, HRV and resting heart rate too, takes what you tell it about how a run felt, and coaches on all of it.

Your plan on your watch. Each day's workout arrives on your Apple Watch with the warm-up, intervals and targets laid out, and updates whenever your plan changes. Works with Apple Watch, Garmin, COROS, Suunto, Polar and Strava.

Proof you are getting fitter. Fitness, fatigue and form trends built from your own training, so you can see the work adding up.

Memory that compounds. Runsense keeps your history and the context you share, so the coaching gets sharper the longer you train with it.

This is not a workout library or a pace calculator. It is a coach with judgment, paying attention to you every week.

New members get their first 2 weeks of coaching free.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.6 — 2026-10-28

Your sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability now match what Apple Health holds. When your tracker revises a night or a reading in Apple Health, your coach now reads only the revised one, instead of the old and new versions together.

Runsense is now called Runsense: Running Coach on the App Store.

### 3.4 — 2026-10-27

When you wear more than one heart rate device on a run, your coach now reads one device's heart rate for that run, instead of both devices' readings mixed together.

When more than one app or device writes your resting heart rate or heart rate variability into Apple Health, your coach now reads one of them, the one that recorded the most of your last month, instead of an average of them all that no device measured.

The first time this version syncs, it re-reads your last 90 days, so your past runs, your history and your normal range come from one device too.

### 3.2 — 2026-10-21

Signing up with a race goal is fixed. When you enter your race and tap Continue, you now move straight on to connect Apple Health. Nothing is checked against the race's website, and what you entered is what we keep. Look up is still there if you want the form filled in for you.

Your coach can now follow your pace through a run, even when the app you record with saves no GPS route to Apple Health.

Some running apps save the distance you cover to Apple Health as you go, but no route. Runsense now reads that distance, so your coach sees where you pushed, where you eased off and how you finished, not just your average pace. The first time you open this version, Runsense reads your last 90 days of runs again, so the runs you have already logged get the same detail.

Your average heart rate is also no longer dragged down by readings of zero that some apps pass along to Apple Health.

### 3.1 — 2026-10-08

Runsense now asks once for access to your workout routes in Apple Health. Once you answer, it reads the routes of your workouts from the last 90 days, so the runs you already recorded are included.

Tapping a notification from your coach now opens your coach chat, even when the app was closed.

You can switch your coaching messages to text from Settings. Runsense asks for your US mobile number and your agreement to be texted, then confirms the number with a code it texts you. Choosing texts when you sign up confirms your number the same way.

You can subscribe at any point in your free trial. The subscribe link in your coach's messages opens the subscription screen in the app, and so does Settings. The subscription screen lists what your subscription includes, and once you subscribe, the app shows your subscription as active.

When your free trial ends, Runsense tells you so plainly and shows you how to continue your coaching. Everything you and your coach did together is saved. If a subscription you paid for ends, the screen says that instead.

A run on its planned day that goes further than prescribed now counts for that session instead of showing as Missed.

If you deleted your account and later tap an old sign-in link, Runsense now offers to start a new account instead of doing nothing.

### 2.9 — 2026-09-24

When the race name you enter belongs to more than one race, Runsense now asks which one is yours and shows each option's town and date, so you can tell them apart. Your answer fills in that race's details directly.

Runsense also checks the date you enter against what the organiser has published, and when this year's date has not been announced yet, it tells you so instead of filling in a day nobody picked.

The unread badge on your Coach tab now clears once you have read the message.
