### 1/5 — Apple Pay doesn’t work either

*2019-06-04, version 6.2.2*

Not useful for non-Scandinavian travelers.

### 1/5 — Taking foreign credit cards is a must, public transport is not JUST for Norwegian citizens

*2019-05-16*

Loads of people without Norwegian bank cards use ruter services daily. Why not give them the option to pay? Makes no sense, unless it’s a tax thing

### 1/5 — Worst thing in all of Norway

*2019-04-18, version 6.1.3*

Completely asinine process just to buy a bus ticket... Total hatred for this.

### 1/5 — Does not accept US cards / Apple Pay

*2019-03-10, version 6.1.2*

Apple Pay is supported, but my payment was declined. I assume because it’s linked to a US credit card...

### 1/5 — Lousy app

*2019-02-12*

Crazy won’t accept my credit cards!! What’s the point with an app like this. Suppose to make life easier. Just made it frustrating..you guys should get with it and make an app that works for travelers from other countries too. Lousy app!!!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-01-24*

Does not accept my credit cards but also does not show error. Really poor user interface. So many people are pushed to use this since ticket machines in Oslo also break often and it is really a poor app. Embarrassing for Oslo.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2018-12-31, version 6.1*

Won’t take cards from the US. Forces you to go to Apple Pay, then Apple Pay doesn’t work. Why can’t you take PayPal you stupid app?

### 1/5 — Waist of an app

*2018-10-28*

It makes no sense to be able to purchase tickets at any station with my US Visa Card, but the same card cannot be used on this app. Very unfortunate, this would increase the apps usage and popularity.

### 1/5 — App won’t accept valid credit cards.

*2018-10-10*

I tried to pay with two valid credit cards. The app wouldn’t except either one.

The app should at least give the user a useful reason why It didn’t accept payment. For example, “the credit card company declined the charge” or “the information entered is not valid.” That way the user may be able to correct the problem.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2018-09-12, version 5.3.0*

App has not been working for many months now.

### 1/5 — Needs to support foreign cards and Apple Pay

*2018-08-25*

This app would be perfect for foreign visitors to Oslo that don’t want to buy a travel card. Unfortunately, the arbitrary limitation to European credit cards makes it unusable to a large portion of the world. Support all credit cards, and the app is perfect. Even better would be to support Apple Pay, which is a perfect fit for an app like this.

### 1/5 — Not good for tourists

*2018-08-18, version 5.3.0*

As said in other reviews, american cards don't work and there's no messaging that indicates this.
Just use the site ruter.no and try to find a terminal

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer usable

*2024-06-22*

I wasted international data to download this app only to see a message saying it can no longer be used. They should remove it from the App Store. The correct app is just called Ruter.

### 1/5 — Functions, no payment issues but critique of ticketing policy.

*2020-04-30*

No issues with payment, used a US Barclays Mastercard in Apple Pay. I'm annoyed that one can no longer purchase 'billetter for ekstra soner' or 'additional zone tickets' for non-app tickets. I prefer having physical tickets in case my phone dies, however I got on the boat to Nesoddtangen and realised it wasn't covered by my existing tickets, so I purchased some in the app. This is no longer possible with these updates and now I would have to find a ticket machine to add on the supplements.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t accept the credit cards

*2019-09-30, version 6.3*

Does not accept any of my Visa or MasterCards. I tried several times. So what’s the point, developers?

### 1/5 — Won’t accept credit cards

*2019-09-22, version 6.3*

Won’t accept credit cards not from Europe. Considering Oslo is trying to be a international city this is a pretty major flaw.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-09-01, version 6.3*

The other reviews are correct. Doesn’t work properly with ApplePay and can’t input other payment methods. Burn this app and start over please.

### 1/5 — Did not take Pay Pal/Apple Pay/All cards

*2019-08-19, version 6.3*

Contrary to the positive reviews below, the app did not take my pay pal, Apple Pay, and any of my cards. We ended up driving to Oslo and paying the ridiculous cost for parking.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work w US card, Apple Pay or Paypal

*2019-08-11, version 6.3*

Useless

### 1/5 — Awful

*2019-07-15*

Doesn’t take US credit cards.

Also note that Apple Pay doesn’t work (doesn’t recognize cards already added to wallet - won’t let you add a new one to satisfy app requirements; doesn’t matter if visa, Amex, etc.)

Basically worthless, bad design.

### 1/5 — Totally Useless - and buses only take cash

*2019-07-12, version 6.3*

This app is useless without a Norwegian credit card. Total garbage. And a warning - buses don’t take cards.

### 1/5 — Does Not Work

*2019-07-08*

The app simply doesn’t work. I tried multiple methods of payment, some said they failed, others just went to a white screen and did nothing. I see now why the app has 1.5 stars. It’s fundamentally broken.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good!

*2019-08-19*

Good for getting tickets!!

### 5/5 — Works With Apple Pay

*2019-07-18*

I see many of the reviews note the inability to pay using North American credit cards. It has been working for me with Apple Pay.

### 5/5 — Works fine with Apple Pay

*2019-06-07*

I looked up this app to get a ticket for Oslo and it has 1.4 star rating, mostly because people
Say it doesn’t accept foreign credit cards. It works perfectly fine with any credit card when using Apple Pay without the hasse to enter any data. Except for a password I have no clue why it should be required.

### 5/5 — Oslo NO Tram

*2019-06-03*

As an American, it worked just fine ... with PayPal payment there were no hitches.

### 5/5 — It does take PayPal

*2019-05-20*

This app does everything I need from a transit app. It collects nearby stations and allows purchase of tickets and can display expired tickets in case your ticket expires during a trip. You can use PayPal or apple pay to buy tickets even if you don't have a Norwegian credit card.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2018-08-12*

Bad rating because it doesn’t work in your country? That’s because it’s not made for your country. It’s a good app that works here in Norway and if you try to download a Norwegian app made for norway, and you use it in another country you are honestly and idiot. If it’s not made for US cards, DON’T USE THE APP

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2017-07-23, version 4.3.1*

Easy to use and very convenient way of buying tickets in Oslo

### 4/5 — Use PayPal

*2019-10-21*

It works if you use PayPal. It doesn’t have to be linked your debit card.

A little one liner for tourists to try using PayPal would be helpful. Maybe in the error message.

### 4/5 — Works with PayPal

*2019-05-18*

I tried a few US credit cards and like everyone else, the app wouldn’t take. However, I did find that linking my PayPal account worked perfectly (which is in itself linked to my Bank of America credit card)—was able to pay for my bus/tram fares without issues.

### 4/5 — US CREDIT CARDS

*2019-05-18*

There’s an option to pay through PayPal. It will take any of your cards including American Express. I couldn’t get the Apple Pay to work but PayPal worked beautifully!
