I soon received a message to say there had been a mistake on the app and they couldn’t come. Very disappointing - wouldn’t recommend. ### 1/5 — Brilliant service let down by awful app *2023-03-17, version 4.20.2* I love Ruuby as a service - their therapists are excellent, professional and their range of services is brilliant. The app though is awful - content often doesn’t load, menus are so long and have no scroll option so you can’t hit next, the way the functionality is arranged you can’t search for when your favourite therapists are available only treatments. The in app messaging also doesn’t let you know if you have a new message so if your therapist is late the only way to see if they have messaged is to keep checking the app. All this is basic stuff. I wish the management would sort this out - the app is the main way we as customers interact with the business and to waste our time with such an awful app means many times when you can’t book you will just go elsewhere, which is a shame when the service itself is so great. ### 5/5 — A lifesaver. *2022-12-14, version 4.16.2* I think this is my first review ever, so let me just start out by saying that as someone who moved from Manhattan to London, and was used to apps offering on-demand beauty services, Ruuby was the first of its kind in London to offer such high-end treatments, and Customer Service that goes so far above and beyond. On the morning of my civil ceremony, during Covid, a hairstylist canceled last minute due to a covid exposure. Without even telling me (to mitigate my stress levels on this morning), the admin team at ruuby found someone to come within minutes of all of this chaos. Truly an amazing service. ### 2/5 — Keeps crashing *2022-10-28, version 4.15.3* I’ve downloaded the app and was really excited to use it, but I’ve been unable to search nor book an appointment. Really frustrating. They book, take payment for immediately and then cancel often at short notice leaving you out of pocket until the refund comes through and without a treatment. In the app says that when a service if highly demanded should be booked via WhatsApp but this is even more slow than booking in the app Terrible service, don’t recommend, almost a day trying to get a booking ### 1/5 — Do not use! *2026-06-22, version 4.56.2* The Hair stylist booked did not turn up on the morning of an important event and there was no way to get customer supportive! Customer service also abysmal after this happened. Steer clear ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2026-04-23, version 4.55.2* They cancel last minute ### 1/5 — Cannot delete account or contact owner to do so *2026-01-12, version 4.51.1* I deleted this app but still receive emails despite unsubscribing. I cannot delete my account. The link to delete account at the bottom of their emails does not work. The link to contact owner suspiciously does not work - eternal whirly gig which never results in the message being sent. Very dodgy and would advise staying well away!!! ### 1/5 — Racist company *2025-11-08, version 4.48.1* Ruuby’s hairdresser refused to style me, as I would need an "afro stylist." I do not have afro hair. I have dark, olive skin. This blatant act of racism was explained by management as the hairdresser's "lack of skill". The style I requested was braids. The hairdresser is self-described as an "elite" stylist who specialises in "braids" and "teaching hairdressing". It is unfeasible she does not have the skill set to braid straight, mid-length hair. Instead, she relabelled my request as "cornrows" and left. Not one apology to date. How is this okay in 2025. If they believe brown girls have a different hair that they cannot do - they should have disclaimers. But they don’t because that would be admitting to their racism. ### 1/5 — Totally unreliable service *2025-09-19, version 4.46.2* I booked my hairstylist for a very important television appearance. She kept texting she was a little late, but never arrived. She said I couldn’t cancel and would lose my money. Eventually Ruby called and said she couldn’t make it. Absolutely unacceptable! ### 1/5 — keeps crashing *2025-07-28, version 4.46.0* App keeps crashing and every time I click on a treatment it comes up with a “something’s wrong” error page and just restarts itself to the welcome page. 🤷🏻‍♀️ ### 1/5 — App didn’t work *2024-07-25, version 4.34.1* UI failed to work, no click through to listings. Lack of introductory journey, no pop up to explain why elements inaccessible. ### 1/5 — Crazy expensive *2024-05-18, version 4.32.0* You pay 4 to 6 times more for low-quality services. For example, my normal salon waxer charges £20 for the full leg, but they charge £70. My waxer does my eyebrows for £5, they charge £25. My waxer charges £60 for lash extensions, they charge £170. I’d rather go to the shop and save 3/4 of the price.
