There is no excuse for having such a poorly designed app. ### 2/5 — Old interface better *2022-03-30, version 3.0.16* There are issues with the new interface. Notifications on the banner doesn’t go away after I read all the notifications. The update location is much harder to use as it doesn’t seem to use the GPS location at all (it used to work great), plus when I enter the city and start to enter the RV park, it suggests RV parks thousands of miles from my location. I probably won’t use the new features as they all seem very clunky. ### 2/5 — Rotation *2022-03-29, version 3.0.16* RVillage app doesn’t rotate to landscape on my iPad. I use it primarily for an Elks group and can hardly get the map to completely populate. Unless the developers start updating this app, it’s going in the trash! ### 1/5 — It’s a sham *2021-08-16, version 2.4.2* I don’t think you should have to offer your location to use the app. Also app seems like a scam when you see the interesting photos of things to do for the camper on Facebook and then once they have you and your info you can hunt till yours heart desire and still not find that useful info. Better off just googling things. ### 1/5 — Has Potential but... *2021-06-06, version 2.4.2* It has some great features because it’s not useable. It’s simple to correct!!! I want to use this app but I have to type in my user name and password every time. It won’t remember them nor use Touch ID. I tried using but gave up because it took longer logging in than the simple message I wanted to send. ### 2/5 — Too Difficult to Use *2021-05-29, version 2.4.2* I tried, I really wanted to enjoy this app. But the developer has no expertise in UX (user experience). You have to enter a login and password every time. A sizeable space is lost to the “current parking spot” banner. It takes 3-4 clicks to get to where you can view Group communication. The main page is consumed with a giant map showing geotags of people nowhere near you. The app sends emails about interesting group chats but it takes way too much effort to find them. Overall, the app seems to be a geolocation app that tries to be a MeWe or other social app but just is too cumbersome. I would happily go back to it, but not without a thorough rewrite of the UX. UX is hard but it’s vital. Find someone who can help you, and this app can be amazing. ### 1/5 — Login process obsolete *2021-05-24, version 2.4.2* I wish I hadn’t gone gold so I could delete this app. There is no option to remember ID or password, mush less facial or fingerprint. I click on a link in an email, but have to manually login each time. By then I forgot what I was looking for! ### 1/5 — Always Freezes Up *2021-04-18, version 2.4.2* It takes forever to load and after you post it freezes up. Currently I am frozen and can’t get it to work. ### 2/5 — Good but frustratingly slow *2021-03-01, version 2.4.2* When you receive a notification, you can’t clear it by looking at the notification, nor by clicking read all, nor by responding to the message sent. It takes over minute of being on a separate page in the app to clear the notification, which means I have to stay in the app several minutes just to clear my screen notification. SUPER FRUSTRATING AND DISTRACTING WHEN TRYING TO WORK. ### 2/5 — Not excited anymore *2021-02-24, version 2.4.2* I was really excited when I first started using the app. But then every time I went to use it he tells me I have to sign in first and then it goes blank. When I say it goes blank the whole screen goes black and there are no options. So I tried doing it from the website instead of the app -the same thing happened- this isn’t the first time it happened and it’s really annoying -I was looking forward to meeting other full timers in my area but this mat not be the app for me ### 2/5 — Frustratingly clunky and slow. *2021-01-01, version 2.4.2* His is a great idea poorly executed. The app is based on the website which is dated, busy and not intuitive. The whole thing is very slow. In the time it’s taken me to write this review my location still hasn’t updated. As far as I can tell app hasn’t been updated for months despite lots of complaints. ### 1/5 — Nov 10, 2020.....nonfunctioning *2020-11-10, version 2.4.2* I have rec'd emails from RVillage members but when I tap on link it goes to a blank "Notifications" screen. I rec'd an email from RVillage confirming my recent "for life" Gold Membership; yet, when I tap on any links in the email, the blank Notifications page opens again. Now when I tap on "OPEN" a blank white screen appears! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 What is going on????? Don’t know how it works because I can’t get it to work. ### 1/5 — 30 seconds and counting... *2020-01-09, version 2.3.9* Traveling with 4 Bars of Verizon LTE. Still waiting for the app to load. Honestly, there isn’t another app on my phone that is this unbelievably slow. For some reason, I keep trying. probably because it could be great. And then, my blood pressure spikes and I swear I am going to delete it. A week or two or the latest promised update later, I try again. Save yourself! ### 1/5 — It’s still lame *2019-12-25, version 2.3.9* After all these years of refinements it still takes me three times to finally update my position. Ridiculous.... UPDATE: per the developer I looked at the newest version tonight. There is still no way to remain logged in and be off line. When I am home I don’t want to be bothered by people showing up by the house. The world doesn’t revolve around this app. So until there’s an easy way to be home and not either generate nor receive geo-fenced alerts, I won’t be using it. O well... I could also care less about Facebook, so... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not able to login with Roadpass *2023-02-13, version 3.0.39* Is this app even supported? When using app on iPhone I’m not able to login to RV Village using Roadpass credentials. The app keeps looping between login screens but does not allow the user to actually login. ### 1/5 — Deleted *2023-01-02, version 3.0.39* App consistently freezes up. If I am able to navigate somewhere in the app I can never get back to the homepage and have to restart my iPhone. I’ll get the information elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Not used anymore *2022-11-04, version 3.0.38* I used to rely on this app while traveling. They made a lot of changes after the sale to Thor Industries and now it doesn’t do anything that 2 million other travel apps do. The map feature really helped when I was traveling alone. Now they’ve butchered that feature because skittish users don’t want anyone to know which park or location they’re in. That used to be the whole point of it. You know, Travel, park, connect. Now it’s just a very poor imitation of Facebook and I’m out. ### 1/5 — iPhone users *2022-04-11, version 3.0.16* Need a close button or back button and bigger font, map too small and where is zoom for it and pictures??? A few weeks ago it asked me to log in. No matter what I try, including creating a new account, I can’t log in. Dunno. Deleted and will use apps that work, like RV Life. It’s better anyway. ### 1/5 — Only supports portrait mode on iPad *2022-03-29, version 3.0.16* My iPad is used about 99.9% attached to a keyboard, which means it must be used in landscape. Unfortunately, this new version of the app only supports portrait, so with this new release, the app unfortunately became completely useless to me. ### 1/5 — Poor performing app *2022-03-29, version 3.0.16* This app has always worked slow and clumsy to navigate. After today’s update, it is impossible to navigate. I do not have the time, nor desire, to figure out how to use this app after the update. I have deleted the app. ### 1/5 — Premium member STILL cannot login *2022-03-25, version 2.4.2* I left a review recently stating this app is totally unusable to premium member who pay money for this service. The developer response indicated there was a workaround and to contact support. I did, and they told me there is no workaround, and that the app is indeed unusable, and to use the website instead. I believe this app should be pulled from the App Store until the developer can actually support their product and not provide unrealistic, and untruthful developer responses that we cannot respond to. ### 1/5 — Confused *2021-11-04, version 2.4.2* I don’t understand how to use this application, I want to search a map to figure out we’re I am looking for an RV park along our trip. It just keeps asking if I want to change my location and wants a name of an RV park, how do I know what RV park I want. ### 1/5 — A great idea operating at a snail pace. *2021-09-30, version 2.4.2* I have been a long time gold member (no ads) user and am constantly annoyed by the extreme amount of time it takes to load the app on my phone. Sometimes it never even loads. I have now changed all my “email notifications” to “app notifications” because of the problems associated with clicking on an email notification and not getting the post because of login problems or length of time to access the info. I realize I won’t get my notifications in a timely manner anymore, but I don’t have the time to wait and wait. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — The best keeps getting better *2019-12-20, version 2.3.9* RVillage is still the only only location-aware social media platform specifically for RVers. The development team is very responsive to user feedback and the app gets better, smoother, and faster with each update release. ### 5/5 — Keeps getting better all the time *2019-12-19, version 2.3.6* As an RVer, I really appreciate RVillage for being the only social networking tool for finding & meeting up with other RVers, it really excels at this. The app is catching up with their website with features and functions. I’m sure they don’t have the same budget as Facebook, so I don’t expect them to be as shiny or perfect. I do notice they keep making improvements and they listen and respond to user feedback VERY quickly. You don’t get lost down a rabbit hole of “help” pages like on Facebook. I really appreciate the personal response from support. More importantly, I appreciate that this platform even exists for RVers. So much better than the dry RV forums. The connections with others are immediate and many. But what if you want to connect with other people who share your passion and love for traveling in recreational vehicles? Well, you have found it in RVillage! The ability to connect, or not to connect should you choose, vendor resources, a user-friendly interface, sharing photos, so many special interest groups that you can join and the list goes on! This is an app you will want to download. Wouldn't be without it as an RVer. The current version leaves very little to be desired. If you travel in your RV and aren’t using the RVillage app, you are missing a huge crowd-sourced treasure trove of vital information to aid your travel experience. The RVillage community has also grown tremendously over the last few years and have been ardent supporters of the app’s mission to provide an invaluable resource for those who travel our highways and back country seeking helpful campground info and connection with others who share their adventures. ### 5/5 — YES! the RVillage *2018-03-26, version 1.1.1* I love this app. It is well laid out, at least it is for me, and has instructions for every/anything. Read the instructions. If you are still having difficulty try reading again. That doesn’t work, get your grandkids to fix it for you. This really helps you keep track of so many of your interests.
