## What is RxOrange?

RxOrange provides full, Internet free, access to the FDA Orange Book with a thoughtful user interface and a unique set of features that you will find nowhere else, not even on the FDA web site.

Questions that RxOrange can quickly answer.

When does that drug go generic?

One question that frequently gets asked by both patients and health care practitioners is ‘When will a generic come out for this drug’? RxOrange can predict an expiration date based on patent and exclusivity information from the Orange Book.* It also shows brand name products that have recently gone generic, so you can stay up to date as new generics become available.

*Please note that unexpired patents, patent extension, and litigation can delay or expedite the actual date of generic competition. RxOrange provides a reasonable estimate based on available data, or an actual date if it is known.

What generic products are therapeutically equivalent to the brand name drug?

RxOrange can help you find suitable generic substitutes fast. Drug products are organized into brand and generic sections and alphabetized by manufacturer. The therapeutic equivalence (TE) code for each drug product is highlighted with a color (green, yellow, or red) to make interpreting the codes easy.**

What products have recently been approved by the FDA?

Dozens of new drug products are released each month by manufacturers. RxOrange will help you keep up to date on both brand and generic products as they become available.

Check out the screenshots below!

** The therapeutic equivalence code, or TE code, provided by the FDA indicates whether a generic product can be substituted for its brand name counterpart. Products highlighted green are equivalent substitutes, yellow highlighting indicates no information is available and caution should be taken, and red highlighting indicates the product is NOT equivalent to the brand name product. A detailed explanation of each code is available in the detail view for each drug.

Who made RxOrange?

RxOrange has been written and designed by a pharmacist with the fast paced work environment of medical professionals in mind. Information is presented in a format that is intuitive, fast, and easy to use. This app will be useful for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and any other health care professional that needs access to information about therapeutic substitution, product availability, and patent expiration.

How often will this app be updated?

RxOrange will be updated monthly coinciding with the monthly release of Orange Book data from the FDA. Each release version will trail with the year and month the database was compiled. (Example. The database in version 3.95.2101 will be compiled with the most recent data from January of 2021)

Additional updates will include bug fixes and new features as they become available.

### 5/5 — Must have for community pharmacists

*2016-03-22*

This application is fantastic--much better than the orange book application put out by the FDA when you need a quick reference for therapeutically equivalent medications on the go during fast-paced community pharmacy workflow. You need this application if you work in retail pharmacy. It would help you as a student and any other pharmacy setting too, but it's a must for retail. 5 stars, easy.

### 5/5 — Better than the official app!

*2016-02-19*

The FDA has also released the official orange book app, but as a practicing pharmacist, I find this one so much more organized and infidelity more useful!

### 4/5 — Good

*2014-07-29*

Possible to get NDCs ?

### 4/5 — Not updated everything yet

*2012-03-22*

The app has not updated everything yet. For example, Lexapro has generic available already and the app has not shown that yet as of March 21, 2012.

### 5/5 — GREAT APP!!!

*2012-01-15*

A handy tool for healthcare professionals!

### 5/5 — Great Apps

*2012-01-05*

A very functional app made even better by the recent update! Keep up the good work BadgeRx!!!

### 1/5 — Not that useful

*2011-12-21*

This app is for professionals that need facts for patents. It is useless for use as a drug handbook. Wish I hadn't wasted my money...

### 5/5 — Excellent Rx App!!!

*2011-09-22*

RxOrange is a unique and great application for professionals in the pharmaceutical and medical fields as well as laymen. I have never seen an app like this––one that provides, for example, expiration dates on drug patents. A world of info in an easy-to-maneuver app is at your fingertips instantly. And I cannot believe the price! It's about time for such a well-thought-out Rx app to appear. There is no way to properly describe the power of RxOrange. Take a look! Well done and thank you, Creator! Where have you been, RxOrange?!
