Instead I have to email them to the right person and then the app is basically useless. When I try to upload a receipt, after clicking submit it just spins like it’s trying forever. ### 3/5 — it’s okay but not perfect or even close *2020-04-21, version 0.992* I mean it provides a service. Sometimes. My app though for example if I go back in the middle of a sentence to re-write a word it auto capitalizes every letter. Sometimes ten seconds after you post something the post is gone. But you don’t know if it’s there or not because there’s no way to check for your own posts. I personally don’t get notifications on my posts or messages so people think I don’t care which isn’t the case I just forget to log into the app every five minutes. Sometimes it won’t load. Sometimes it won’t even send messages. It’s just so annoying. ### 3/5 — Eh *2020-02-13, version 0.987* Programmer fell asleep on the job with this one. For starters none of my messages are even getting posted. I’ll try and try never posted. 1 out of 20. And the timing on when a post goes up. I think the app has a great concept. But now all the little things need to be worked out. Every time I try to post to the board it just doesn’t post. And the ASAP post needs help. Just a ton of little things. Hopefully you guys can get them worked out. Like I said this app can save life’s just needs the right developers 🙏🏻🙏🏻 ### 3/5 — Nice idea. Terrible typing bug *2019-07-11, version 0.977* My main beef with this app is a bug which makes text input a nightmare. When typing if you choose one of the spelling suggestions the cursor is moved to the middle of the word. This is terrible and from the looks of how many typos I see in other comments I'm not the only one. I'm using Gboard if it's helpful. ### 3/5 — Glitches *2019-01-22, version 0.970* I absolutely love the idea of this app but I don’t post a lot because you have to go through so many hoops to delete a mistake and you can only post one picture at a time and no video at all. Also I don’t like when you go into a post to finish reading it; it takes you back to the comments instead of the rest of the original post. ### 4/5 — I Like this App but... *2018-11-06, version 0.964* I really like the diabetic community approach of this app and the positive possibilities it offers. There is even a place where diabetics in need of supplies can buy sell and trade supplies. This is where the app only draws 4 stars from me. There are way too many resellers trying to buy your supplies at lowball prices so that they can resell them at a huge mark-up on other sites. When you enter this part of the app you get an explicit warning message that resellers are not allowed to participate in this part of the app. When you list an item there all you get are resellers responding to your post. There is no policing of them and they are rampant. So for this reason I will only give 4 stars. Other than that, this is a great app for the diabetic community. ### 4/5 — App is full of glitches, but it’s heart is in the right place! *2017-12-30, version 0.954* I love the idea of the app, and Im not sure what alternatives there might be for sharing supplies directly with those who need them, but theres a 50-50 chance that I can actually post or respond at any given time. I’ll stick with it because it’s heart is in the right place, but I sure wont count on it being available to help me out of a vacation-induced supply shortage (so far- knock on wood- my insurance covers enough, so for me its a nice way to clean out the supply closet or bail myself put of an awkward travel mishap). The community is generally full of good people, although there's a collection of scammers also, I like to think that all the annoyances from the user end are made up by helping a few people who legit need it. ### 4/5 — Help around *2017-06-13, version 0.943* The app is great but could use A few improvements. First, I am a mom to a little boy with type one diabetes and was looking for some support for parents of kids with diabetes. I found this app and thought it would be great and it is a great concept. But because there's not a lot of support for those of us that use voice over. That is the feature within the iPhone that allows the iPhone to talk and speak what's on the screen. I am a visually impaired mother who thinks this App isgreat if I could just use it. I was able to get past the sign in pages because I turned off the voice over feature and swiped The screen that way until I got to something familiar. Second, there are a lot of unlabeled buttons on the screen at least when using voice over. From what I am able to navigate of the app it seems like it will be really great with improvements ### 4/5 — Great app but needs improvements *2017-05-23, version 0.943* Really loving this app and how easy it is to connect to other in the diabetic community for various purposes. The only thing that I find frustrating and slightly odd is that there is no way to edit or even delete a post after clicking submit. After an error in my post, I was unable to find an edit or delete button so my only option was to correct my post in the comment section. This is frustrating because you can only see the correction if you click on the post to read the comments which not everyone will do. I highly suggest that there be a way to edit and/or delete a post to make it more user friendly. Other than that, the whole concept of this app is wonderful! ### 4/5 — A Great App for Diabetics *2017-05-04, version 0.943* This is a great app for diabetics and was a long time coming. I was happy to see this not only for trading supplies, providing support to others but just knowing that im not the only person who may have some types of problems. A good feature to have would make it easier to great a group feature on the fly. I’ve done nothing of the sort yet I see nothing but posts asking for $$$$ left up. This place is a scam marketplace that doesn’t want honest users on the app. Deleted and no idea where I will access life saving items now. ### 1/5 — Scammers City *2020-01-27, version 0.985* Tons and tons of people scamming and/or taking advantage of diabetics. They beg for free supplies to turn around and resell them in the same group! But the admin team does nothing to stop them or delete posts. However honest people seeking help get their posts deleted. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Post Messages *2020-01-06, version 0.984* I tried several times to send messages to the board. It seems to accept, but does not post. Waste of time. ### 1/5 — No response *2019-11-17, version 0.981* I have posted three times trying to get rid of unused supplies. Each time my posted is removed with no explanation. I’ve messaged the person removing them. No response. Tons of others posts are on the site either selling or offering free supplies. Why is mine being removed????? ### 1/5 — Don’t get scammed! *2019-07-13, version 0.977* The obvious flaw is that this app is full of glitches (spell check, location access, page loading, etc.) But the real problem is that the app is full of scammers looking to resell supplies that are donated or acquired from sellers at low ball prices. If you look at older posts you can see there also were a lot of people scammed out of money by a woman who is now in police custody (unless she made bail). So what is the point of HelpAround? It’s a felony to sell prescription items without a license to distribute, but the app provides a platform for people to do exactly this...all while saying it’s prohibited. Then people cry when they get scammed. LAME I tried to be a part of this social media for diabetics but it has turned into a drug-dealing platform and I’m over it. ### 1/5 — Facebook Related... Too Bad! *2019-03-13, version 0.972* This app, I feel, could have a lot of potential to help a lot of people! BUT- the flaw in this app’s development is that you *must* have a Facebook account prior to accessing to utilities. That’s unfortunate, not everyone single person in the world wants to be bogged down to a social media site, ever heard of private relations?! I do hope the developers decide to rethink this option and make some changes, like I previously stated, this app has the potential to be very beneficial! ### 1/5 — Unable to use app. Continuous error messages *2018-09-21, version 0.962* This app is not usable currently. I continuously receive error messages when refreshing or sending anyone a message. Fix!!! No when I enter my phone number to try to get back into the app, it keeps telling me to recheck my phone number.
