All the time I need to close the app and restart. I’m afraid this platform is either abandoned or lacking funding. :( it’s sad to see this die because it has so much potential. I hope the guys at Ryver are doing well and have some good updates soon, if not we have to move on to another work chat platform. ### 2/5 — Company moved over from slack *2020-06-18, version 1.39* For the most part it functions very much the same as slack. Except for some details - that are definitely noticed / missed. 1- there's no way to change the push notifications sounds for mobile app iOS. Making it hard to know if it's a text or a ryver message. 2-there's not a way to change the timing of the "auto-away" setting. Those are the ones that i think of daily. I hope to see that change soon. ### 3/5 — nice app, terrible that forces landscape mode *2020-02-27, version 1.39* great app by who was the genius that thought it was a good idea to force the use to only use the app in landscape on the iPad? When you scroll to the top, the conversation jumps to nonsensical sections of the chat. No way I would have invested effort to the ecosystem if they hadn’t claimed free was their model. ### 2/5 — A bit clunky & lacks features *2018-02-06, version 1.32* The iOS is relatively easy to use although many of the buttons are bit too small even on iPad (screenshots out of date) and the app requires an internet connection unlike major competitors who have transitioned to a cached system which updates when online. Feels like an old web app rather than a modern native iOS app. ### 4/5 — Good! *2018-02-04, version 1.32* Used as a communication platform in my nonprofit. There are a few issues, like the fact that you can only message one other person (no group messaging unless an admin creates that group for you.). It can also get messy since anyone can create a topic. You cannot see who used a reaction. The app hasn’t been updated in 4 years. It is truly garbage that they refuse to fix. ### 1/5 — Slow and inefficient app *2022-01-18, version 1.39* After using it for over three month, I can write a broad review about the app. It is the worst, the app does not send messages fast and are delay, you’ll get a notification of a received message and when you do open the app there are none message; you’ll have to close and reopen the app just to see a message. Beside that it’ll logout without a reason, its connection is not stable. Another issue, if you open it during a call or listening to radio in your car, it will mute all sounds. I believe it has been the first app that I feel the need to write a review so they can improve it. ### 1/5 — Can’t access *2021-04-26, version 1.39* Can’t access my organisation using onelogin ### 1/5 — Run the other direction *2020-10-01, version 1.39* This app/service is obviously trying so hard to be a ripoff of Slack, and it fails so incredibly bad. Their iOS app hasn’t been updated in a year. The web service is slow, buggy, and constantly drops messages. Integrations are non-existent, and channels are a confusing mess of permissions and visibility. Seriously. Avoid Ryver at all costs. Whatever money you think you’re going to save will be more than outweighed by now much your coworkers are going to hate using this service. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2020-03-02, version 1.39* Terrible app. Constant crashes on ios. While there is room for improvements, the pluses (search, unlimited messages, task management, topics tab) always outweigh the minuses (load time). And did I mention that Ryver has the most responsive support team ever? I am all-in Ryver because it is simply amazing! ### 5/5 — Great service and app, just a couple small issues. *2018-02-09, version 1.32* I’ve only been using Ryver for a short while. That said, a group of us are migrating from Slack to Ryver and so far I prefer Ryver. “Topics” (the forum-like section of the app) is a great feature and has already come in handy for our group. My only complaints (which are small, and not worth downgrading the app to 4 stars) are: - When using the Smart Keyboard with the iPad Pro, pressing “Enter” doesn’t send a chat message. It just drops you to the next line. I feel like if I’m using an external keyboard, the “Enter” key should be used to send messages (or this should at least be configurable). - The app has some minor display bugs. When editing a pinned Topic, sometimes the Topic drops below other, non-pinned Topics. This is fixed by simply refreshing the interface. Overall this is a very solid app and service. It will get my recommendation over Slack from now on. ### 5/5 — I feel so much more productive! *2017-10-17, version 1.27* We've moved from email over to Ryver to manage conversations with our clients, and it's made it MUCH easier to keep track of threaded conversations. After each meeting, we post an update in Ryver and assign tasks to everyone. We love using it because it is a secure place where our students can communicate with us. We also enjoy the fact that we can break our students into committees and place them into their own chat group that we can monitor for safety reasons. Students enjoy using it because they are always up-to-date on when their meetings are and how they can find their team members. It is simple and easy to use! ### 5/5 — Excellent App, Much Needed *2017-02-22, version 1.21* After searching through committee emails that were 10+ threads long I knew something had to be out there. Someone suggested another app like this and while looking for that I stumbled on Ryver. Tried both and am convinced Ryver is the best for me and our organization. Simple invitations for committee members and necessary friends of our committee. It's the new Slack killer. :) ### 5/5 — Super impressed so far! *2016-02-22, version 1.5* We are just starting to test Ryver and have been very impressed with the feature set and best of all it's FREE!!! Compared to slack this will save us thousands of dollars and is more flexible with an extremely well thought out design. In my opinion, with Zappier integration, unlimited users and unlimited storage, Ryver is defiantly a better alternative to Slack.
