### 5/5 — So helpful and just works

*2026-05-11*

In about 6-months I’ve never had an issue with S3 Client. I use it for backing up and file restoration — connecting my Mac to my S3 instance. Superb work! Thank you

### 5/5 — Amazing Utility

*2026-05-10*

Being able to store and access S3 buckets from Shortcuts is a game changer for me. Saves me tons of time, and allowed me to fully automate some processes I had never been able to before. Thank you!

### 4/5 — Anonymous key identification

*2026-04-24, version 2026.21*

Support the project team. I cannot connected to the wasabisys public dataset by anonymous configuration. How to connect it?

### 5/5 — Super helpful !

*2026-04-22*

It’s clean and very intuitive. We love using it here at our office to upload files directly to s3 without having to login every few hours on the s3 console

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-04-12*

I do like this app and I would like the same but for WebDAV servers ^w^

### 5/5 — Performance good!

*2026-02-04*

I have been using this s3 client for a while and its a good choice for Mac users

### 5/5 — By far the best!

*2026-01-31*

Simple, reliable, and works seamlessly with the native Files app

### 5/5 — Developer was very helpful. There is an app conflict that prevents purchase. “CursorPro”

*2026-01-23, version 2026.3*

My apologies to the dev team and grateful for your help. It’s a simple and elegant S3 tool.

### 5/5 — The best S3 client

*2026-01-22*

This is the best S3 client. It integrates seamlessly with Files on macOS and iOS, and its pre-authenticated sharing and file request features are extremely handy.

### 4/5 — Funktioniert soweit ganz gut

*2026-01-20*

Mit Minio funktioniert die App wunderbar.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-01-14*

Simple premise, S3 buckets in finder. Works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Best S3 App I’ve Found

*2026-01-09*

This app works great for S3 and friends, love the integration in the Finder, it works better than anything else I’ve tried, and that’s not just for S3, like, for service.

### 5/5 — Simple, and vastly useful. Great service.

*2025-12-29*

Such a simple way to expand your phones storage. Raw, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need!

If you’re stuck at all just mail the creator of the app, he’ll help you right out!

### 3/5 — Clunky

*2025-12-24*

Whilst it certainly does what it says on the tin, it’s fairly clunky to use: constantly goes into a paused state, with no obvious way to unpause; appears to be little to no caching of bucket contents (no keep downloaded option); and diagnostics not particularly intuitive to use.

### 4/5 — Does what it says, but missing one thing…

*2025-12-14*

Does exactly what it says to, allows me to interact with S3 files right from Finder. The one thing I’d like is a way to copy the URL of a file without all the temporary share query parameters at the end. I have several publicly-readable buckets I use to host things and would love to be able to quickly get links to the files therein without having to delete all the AWS crud at the end.

### 5/5 — Perfect Integration

*2025-11-19, version 2025.35*

Makes S3 storage as simple and seamless as Dropbox or iCloud Drive. Has become a tool I use every day!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not useful

*2026-06-13, version 2026.28*

Not intuitive, difficult to setup and to use.

### 1/5 — Potentially dangerous

*2026-03-03*

I bought this app having moved over from Windows. I needed a client to easily access S3 storage as sometimes I need to upload files.

At first it was working as intended, however this past week I noticed that files in our cloud storage were randomly being renamed. Something was adding numbers onto the end of filenames, like “2 “, “ 3”.

Even after upgrading security on the bucket it was still happening. Then yesterday I noticed that my CPU usage was through the roof, and upon checking processes I noticed that this app was using tons of CPU. I killed the process, but it started back up again. I eventually killed it and uninstalled the app. Since then I’ve had no more incidents of files being renamed.

I suspect this app is doing something dangerous, or has a bug which causes problems. Do not download!

**Developer response:** I have never heard of such issues before.

Please email me at anders@s3files.app as I would like to learn more.

### 1/5 — Issues with S3 Minio

*2024-08-25*

“A server with the specified host name can not be found”, constant errors while trying to use Minio S3, buckets show ip but no files, just that error. My service is configured and works perfectly fine in other apps it just won’t work in this one.

**Developer response:** I’m not sure what the problem is but the app has been tested to work with MinIO and probably it just needs to be adjusted for some detail in your setup.

Please email me at anders@s3files.app and I will do my best to get this working.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2024-05-01, version 2024.15*

App no longer works

### 1/5 — Works once per reboot

*2024-04-06*

App looks promising, but only allows you to access S3 bucket once before locking up the Files app, necessitating a reboot.
Happened multiple times in a row now.
iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 17.4.1.

**Developer response:** I'm very sorry this is happening. I have heard similar reports from other users and am working to improve this.

Latest update has a way to Reset the S3 location back into motion without a reboot and will gather information to help me understand why lock-up sometimes happens such that it can be avoided. Please go through this step next time and send me diagnostics information.

### 1/5 — Update

*2024-02-16*

I got the app for my iPad and Mac. Everything was fine. Something weird was happening with my Mac, and I finally decide to start clean. I do a fresh clean install of MacBookPro. It's a 2017 MacBookPro with an Intel i7, 16gb of ram. It woks great. I go to reinstall this app, including the ShellFish app. Both can't install now. Apple, decided that my 2017 MacBookPro, including how powerful it is, is not worth updating to Montery. When I try to install S3 Files and ShellFish it states that I must update to Montery. However, Apply won't let me. So the apps are now useless. I'm done with Apple. From how they won't allow you to repair your stuff, to making it that after so many years that your equipement is useless to any new application when it's still powerfull enough to support it. To, how they treat developers and take 30%. I done with Apply! Middle finger to you Apple. I don't need Apple any more. Moving to Linux. Sick of Apple!!!!

### 2/5 — Almost no free features

*2025-11-12*

There are almost no free features. Why create a free version if it won’t do anything? End user can’t even view or download files

**Developer response:** The app is free such that you can make sure it works during the trial and avoid having to pay for something you regret.

### 2/5 — Used to be flawless

*2025-01-13*

Ive gotta give the app only 2 stars. Used to be a 5, but lately the app constantly fails to load my s3 buckets properly. Sometimes duplicating root folders, folders completely missing, or failing to upload. Unfortunately these issues have completely destroyed a workflow I’ve grown accustomed to with this app. Hope dev can fix these issues, as vague as they may sound. Will gladly update my review.

**Developer response:** Please email me at anders@s3files.app and I will investigate this such that you can get back to a reliable experience.

A quick thing you can do is to open the Finder tab in Settings, click Diagnostics and click Reset. This makes the S3 location in Finder start from new.

### 3/5 — Subscribe or live with minimal / no features?

*2026-04-04*

I’m not sure why the store description mentions “Free for one server, Pro unlock required for multiple servers” when it really wants to say “Free for one server missing most features but we will prompt you right at the first start to tell you that the majority of usability is locked behind pro but you get 7days trial!”. If a subscription is required for actions as basic as “delete a file” then say so upfront.

**Developer response:** New users are able to fully access and delete from a single server without paying if they first downloaded S3 Files v2026.11 or later. The App Store description should accurately describe what new users can do.

Non-playing users that first downloaded earlier versions of the app are able to have unlimited numbers of servers but can only browse these. At one point the App Store description was different to accurately describe these conditions.

If you first downloaded S3 Files after the release of 2026.11 on February 19 then please contact me at anders@s3files.app as something must be misbehaving.

If you are a recent new user and should have full access to one server for free, try updating to version 2026.18 that has a bug fix in this regard.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Must Have List: Top 10

*2026-08-21*

There has been a lot of thought that went into the UI/UX of S3. I love the universal setup across all my devices and not having to worry that an rclone mount/unmount is gonna force a reboot. The dev has achieved a great balance of both form and function. This sets a new bar for how iOS apps should be done.

### 5/5 — Very satisfied

*2026-08-20*

I use this app to backup the contents of my phone to AWS S3 since I find S3 to be much more reliable and fast than other cloud drives like Onedrive. This app works really well, is smooth and very intuitive to use. Also the developer is very quick to address any bugs and adds support for new S3 features quickly too. Highly recommended for people who are a bit technically savvy.

### 5/5 — PERFECT!!

*2026-08-11*

Do everything that promisses… Perfect for tests and even backup from mobile phones

### 5/5 — Works perfect!

*2026-07-24*

Each time I use it simplifies what I need to do. Upgrades only keeps making it better!!!

### 5/5 — MMM

*2026-07-13, version 2025.33*

Fret

### 5/5 — Simply Fantastic

*2026-06-23*

I've been looking for a long for an app that exposes a File Provider for Backblaze B2 and this one is the best. It has handles the best edge cases, retries and other quirks of other object storage I haven't seen other apps do. I have an app that writes very heavily to B2 and this one is the only that has exposed a file provider that can keep up.

### 5/5 — Great functionality

*2026-06-14*

This has been perfect for my particular use cases, which are around S3 access and visibility. I’ve been able to use this tool to sort out connectivity challenges with other apps.

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2026-06-09*

This app is so much better than I expected it to be - I’ve tried other apps for doing this in the past and the experience was always rather janky and unreliable, but this is simply perfection.

### 5/5 — RPrice

*2026-05-26*

A great S3 application that just works to upload & download large (200GB+) & small (10-50GB) files to AWS. The only limitation is the sizing of the system drive where S3 is being used.

### 5/5 — Must Have List: Top 10
