Hi, we're sorry to hear that. We would like to help you out, however we haven't received any support request regarding connection to S3 bucket. Can you please reach out to use on `support` at `s3drive.app` or visit our Discord support channel? https://s3drive.app/support ; If you can't connect to S3 bucket then this would usually indicate either: a) invalid credentials/endpoint, b) network issues / VPN, c) S3 provider outage. We would be able to confirm the exact cause once you reach out to us. Thanks! UPDATE: It seems you were using `1.11.0` version, where currently: `1.14.4` is released. We've went really long way since that version and improved various areas including error logging. By any chance can you try again and let us know if this worked?
At best mediocre-average in its current state
Otherwise it’s just very minor updates/fixes. Nothing to write home about.
I get that the feature/development roadmap is done via a voting system (which shouldn’t be…but that’s another story all together) but honestly I doubt that 90% of the users voting would barely even know there a— from their face let alone know what should actually be implemented/worked on…but I do!
Thumbnail support especially for Rclone remotes would’ve been a great starting point, you know, a basic feature of most apps now days! And iOS Files app integration seeing as that’d make it more usable & close enough to native integration…without the integration it’s usability & seamlessness is limited.
Now, I know the developers defence (that they will probably unnecessarily feel the need to do) will probably be something along the lines of that they’re only a small development team, blah blah blah [insert additional comeback or comment about being a small development team here that nobody should care about]. Fact is I’ve seen apps & similar projects over the years have faster development & features implemented faster with only ONE developer. So it’s not really an excuse in comparison.
Lastly, with all that being said, don’t even bother commenting on this review because 1. I probably won’t read it anyway but 2. Definitely won’t care for what’s said unless it’s about the features I mentioned above being implemented quicker or worked on immediately OR about acknowledging me or what I’ve said, in a respectful & polite manner, despite the manner in which I approached this review & endeavour to speed development up.
Still wish them best of luck & success though.

UPDATE [20th Jan 2025]: Rclone thumbnails and file preview are delivered in a most recent 1.11.2 release. Rest improvements will come later this year. ORIGINAL COMMENT: Thank you for your critique. It seems you haven't left us much room for defense, but just to clarify, we've released S3Drive on iOS with: "[1.0.20] - 2023-01-26", so it's not even 2 years. You're probably right that we could build iOS specific features faster, however our pace is dictated by the huge scope of this project, the very fact that we release this on all platforms and work on plenty other general things like encryption, Rclone integration, our custom storage etc. Additionaly, iOS Files integration would've been built faster, but it seems there is a relatively new API available that we could utilize to provide integration with macOS finder in one go. This means that once we get to that we'll kill two birds with one stone. The inital delay will certainly pay off in the long run. I encourage you to visit our changelog to understand what we work on: https://s3drive.app/changelog and how frequent our updates are. There is even an update released today, as I write this comment. I am sorry to hear that and whilst I can't promise anything, we certainly plan to tackle Rclone preview and thumbnails this year. Feel free to join our Discord: https://s3drive.app/support if you would like to talk with us directly. Anyway, I wish you all the best in a New 2025 year and I hope we won't disappoint you. Thanks! Tom
