## What is Saachi?

Saachi is a daily Hindu spiritual practice rooted in the Bhagavad Gita and other Hindu scriptures. It's made for those who grew up around the tradition and want to engage with it thoughtfully, on their own terms.

You know the names. The Gita. The Mahabharata. The Ramayana. But somewhere along the way, the practice became something you meant to come back to. Saachi is a quiet way back.

THREE WAYS TO SIT WITH SAACHI EACH DAY

Daily Verse
Open the app to a verse from the Bhagavad Gita, paired with a short reflection or story that brings it into your day. Not a quote-of-the-day. A considered piece of writing meant to be read slowly.

Moment
Bring whatever is on your mind. A difficult conversation, a decision you're avoiding, a feeling you can't name. Saachi will sit with it, responding with wisdom drawn from Hindu scripture rather than generic advice.

Practice a Virtue
Choose from the 26 virtues of the Daivi Sampad in Chapter 16 of the Gita. Fearlessness. Compassion. Forgiveness. For each, you'll find a story from scripture showing the virtue in practice, a teaching, a small action for today, and a prayer.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

Verses from all 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita
Stories drawn from the Mahabharata, Ramayana, Upanishads, and Puranas
A daily streak if you want one. No pressure if you don't.
Sanskrit terms used with care, not as decoration
Privacy by default. No account required.

WHAT YOU WON'T FIND

Generic mindfulness content with Sanskrit sprinkled on top
'Ancient wisdom' framing. The tradition is alive, not archaeological.
New-age language. No vibrations, no manifesting, no chakras-as-vibes.
Sectarian content. Saachi draws from the broader Hindu tradition without favoring one path.
Streak-shaming notifications or gamification. This is a practice, not a game.

Saachi is built by an indie developer who uses it daily. Every story is sourced from scripture. Every word is considered. It's not a content firehose. It's a quiet companion for the practice you've been meaning to return to.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-30

What's New

New

- Listen to readings aloud - tap Listen on the daily verse, virtue practice, prayer, and your daily card to hear it narrated.
- Natural on-device voices for Hindi and English narration, running fully offline. (Gujarati uses the system voice.)
- Faster start - narration begins after the first sentence instead of waiting for the whole passage to load.
- Read-along in practices - Listen reads one card at a time and keeps going automatically as you swipe to the next card.

Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed the weekly roadmap occasionally highlighting the previous day after midnight.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-06-26

Features (App Store "What's New" candidates)
- Hindi language support, end-to-end. Daily verses, virtue practices, the virtue catalog, the daily check-in, the lamp screen, and AI prayers now render in Hindi, bundled for offline use and updatable over the air.
- New "Wisdom" tab. Ask for personalized scriptural guidance (a story, a lesson, and a prayer) for anything on your mind, any time. The daily journey now centers on the practice of virtue.
- Share as a beautiful image. Verses, prayers, wisdom, and virtues are now shared as a branded card image on a calming background, with a free-to-install App Store link.
- Send feedback in-app. A "Share Feedback" form in Settings.
- Move freely through your practice. Go back to a previous step in the daily practice, and tap any step on the Today screen to jump straight to it. Today, the same colorful step cards are shown as in the completed view.
- Streamlined onboarding (trimmed to a shorter, focused flow).

Bug fixes
- Daily check-in and the lamp screen were stuck in English even when Hindi/Gujarati was selected — now localized.
- Fixed a rare freeze where relaunching the app mid–check-in could leave the daily journey stuck on "let's start with how you're feeling."
- Fixed a flicker when stepping back/forward between practice screens (the previous screen briefly flashed through).
- Fixed the virtue practice's last card, missing its complete button and share button (especially when reviewing a finished virtue).
- Hindi/Gujarati prayer & wisdom truncation fix (backend 725ffb2, committed + pushed but needs deploying): non-English prayers were getting cut off mid-sentence. This is a user-facing fix that should ship/deploy alongside the Hindi release.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-21

There are critical fixes.
1. Users can be blocked from the day's practice if they restart the app after going through the day's check-in.
2. Based on user feedback, updated the flow to skip the screen that lets us select from guidance and virtue. Now, it goes directly to virtue & allows the user to do a wisdom exercise on demand in another tab. This provides an uninterrupted daily practice for a user who doesn't want to make more choices.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-06-20

Fixed one analytics issue and reduced the number of onboarding screens based on user feedback.

### 1.0 — 2026-06-19

No release notes.
