The “suits” in charge of Classic rock radio stations play the same ~100 songs OVER AND OVER! Put the app on my phone, and CSN&Y’s “Country Girl” from Déjà Vu was playing. Wow, I have not heard that for years. The next song was by Nirvana, with those grainy, raw, vulnerable-sounding vocals. The number of new artists I heard on my satellite rock channels was zero. I’ve probably added albums from 40 new bands I would have never learned about on the other station. They played entire albums. Played a featured album one night a week. We were free to call and request a song anytime we wanted to. Oh well. That was then. Virtually no commercials, plays several songs in a row before talking, playlist is full of older less-played rock songs, a lot like the old album-rock FM days. I used to listen in the 70's as I was passing through Sac from SF to Tahoe. It’s my fav FM station now. The app is good and works well, but it stopped showing the current song and artist and has been frozen on Jackson Browne for a few days. It plays fine, just the current song info is frozen. I hope they fix it soon. It was great to hear a great old song and be able to see the name and artist. ### 4/5 — Takes me back to High School *2015-07-11, version 6.28.0* Love the music and the DJ's. Just like listening to radio back in the 70's. But also like radio back then the app gives no artist info, just the live stream home page. I also enjoy listening to new music from groups and individuals from the past. I was just preparing dinner, tired because I'm battling cancer and I'm very tired at time. I was pleased to hear an old Montrose song that no other station dares to play. ### 5/5 — Great Music, Great Radio Station - the app is good basic app *2025-04-17, version 8.4* This app has really only one function that it is good at - being able to listen to K-ZAP radio in Sacramento, CA. The DJ and the music is outstanding - they are not an ordinary classic rock station - they play music from 1965 to 2015 and the cuts from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s are ones besides just the top hits - and they throw in the occasional blues song and other formats that are fit with AOR music. My beef with the app is it does't do much else - it doesn't show the stations top tunes, recent playlist, the ability to vote on songs, discuss music - check out the app for Radio Paradise for what a real radio app can be.
