### 2/5 — Good concept

*2026-03-20, version 3.3.6*

Why are the rewards only for Texas??

### 3/5 — Needs More Rewards

*2025-06-14, version 3.3.6*

I'm in Austin, and I don't have a lot of options for rewards without a significant drive. And one of the businesses where I would frequently use my rewards no longer shows up as an option. Plus, I originally joined because of a competition, and the last competition was over a year ago. It kind of feels like no one cares about maintaining this app anymore, which is a shame because I used to really like it.

### 3/5 — Rewards

*2025-05-18, version 3.3.6*

Kinda wish there was better rewards. At least in Texas I have 51k points and it’s just sit there… I hope there would be a decent update with better rewards and I drive A lot l. Please add more !

### 2/5 — Abandonware

*2025-03-19, version 3.3.6*

This was nice in its heyday but it's dead now. Do not download.

### 4/5 — Solid - needs an update

*2023-11-06, version 3.3.6*

I’ve used it for years & typically there aren’t any glitches but it’s not currently allowing me to select any stores. It automatically exits the app when I select.

### 3/5 — Ehhh

*2023-05-26, version 3.3.6*

Absolutely love the app and the concept. But, there seriously needs to be some worthwhile options to redeem points and a lot more options. There’s 2 Etsy shops I could redeem at, but I’d never purchase from either. And there are 3 online shops I’ve never heard of. Pick up some national chains, local and online and this will be my favorite app. Will keep the app and continue earning points in hopes more and better redemption options are offered in the future. If not, I’ll eventually delete it. I won’t wait forever.

Update, 5/26/23: still have app but it’s useless. Nothing to redeem in my area and o line options only direct you to one or two stores’ clearance section. Gonna delete app. Worthless.

### 4/5 — Pretty cool app just wish they had more locations to use it

*2023-03-30, version 3.3.6*

I enjoyed when I lived in Texas, but the in Oklahoma there is not many places to use The points.

### 2/5 — Great concept

*2023-02-21, version 3.3.6*

It’s great to help you not use your phone but there is literally nothing in my area that I can use my points for. You also can not keep your phone anywhere but in your pocket otherwise it registers you as using it.
I barely use my phone when driving anyways figured I’ll use it for the points and get something for driving good but can’t cash it in. Wish it had something in my area, I did put in some requests for things to be added in the low country(South Carolina) but nothing.

### 1/5 — Interior customer service and sketchy business practice

*2023-02-05, version 3.3.6*

I have been a user of the Safe 2 Save app since learning about in 2017/2018. I believe in supporting local businesses and this app, started for excellent reasons in College Station, TX, filled both a need to keep drivers from being distracted and rewarding safe drivers. Unfortunately, it appears that the company does not like to support local clients as much as they claim.

First is the recent trend of businesses listed in the app as S2S partners to have to turn down customers trying to use the points listed because the business does not actually participate in the program. Comments from managers of businesses that have refused the points lately have flatly said they never signed up with the service or was a client pre pandemic, dropped it during the pandemic and was pressured to either continue accepting the points when their business reopened, at great cost to the business at a time where every sale counted or continue to find themselves listed and having to turn customers down making their loyal customers angry. This is extremely sketchy and unethical business practices by S2S as the managers I’m talking to are telling the truth. As a customer I have no reason to NOT believe the business. The managers tell similar stories of reopening after the govt allowed them to during COVID and seeing that they all of sudden signed up for a delivery service like gruhub. Highly unethical!

Then there is the customer service. On 12 January 2023, I sent an e-mail to the company asking if I could transfer my 36,000 points to my daughter who just started driving and wants to use the app. The auto generated e-mail says that someone will reply in 1-2 business days. I am now on my fourth e-mail to them (one a week asking for a follow-up) and one phone call later and I have NOT received a follow-up to my question. Who knew 1-2 business days really means 1-2 months. While not unethical it’s just plain rude to your loyal customers.

All the while they will not answer me and my question, they continue to inundate my inbox with e-mails (at least two a day) even AFTER unsubscribing. Poor customer service.

Do not invest any time into this application and company. If you like the gamification of a driving responsibility (paying attention to what you are doing while behind the wheel) and being patronized to while in all likely hood selling your personal information to other marketers, feel free to continue using. If you are a responsible driver that does not like being patronized and ignored as a customer, then delete or never download this app and do what you know is right…turn the phone off while driving. You are Safe 2 Save the hard drive and memory on your phone.

### 4/5 — way too many notifications and no way to turn them off

*2022-12-29, version 3.3.6*

the constant notifications make me want to look at my phone. you're sending me messages about restaurants nearby as i drive and it's lighting up my phone, taking my attention from driving. and there's no way to turn them off? idk, i love this app but this seems counterproductive.

### 1/5 — 🤮

*2022-11-09, version 3.3.6*

Absolutely garbage rewards

### 3/5 — Good app but…

*2022-03-16, version 3.3.4*

I love the idea of this app, texting and driving should 100% be avoided. This issue I’m having with this app is that even if I’m not on my phone it deducts points. I’ll have my phone face down within my car and still when I end my drive, it’ll say I had 14 distractions. Other than that I love this app… just not a fan of losing point for no reason…

### 2/5 — Meh

*2022-01-12, version 3.3.4*

I downloaded because I saw someone promoting it saying they have gift cards. When I registered I saw some offers but no gift card. Just those offers that og websites already had. Disappointing. And I been trying to recommend places but it just going nowhere ig

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bummer

*2025-11-17, version 3.3.6*

I’m looking for an app that will encourage safe driving for my teens without making them feel like I’m controlling them. Earning rewards is fun for everyone. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the rewards can’t be earned in my area or anywhere near my area. I was hopeful for this one.

### 1/5 — Low Variety of Rewards

*2025-05-31, version 3.3.6*

The only rewards I could redeem are Redbox or Best Buy. All the other rewards had random places, very far from me (UT) lots in Texas but that’s about it. So not really worth it unless that can apply to you.

### 1/5 — No rewards to redeem

*2025-02-22, version 3.3.6*

I am not sure if it’s because where I live or what but I was able to rack up points for my driving but there were no rewards to redeem either than coupons for McDonald’s.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2024-04-15, version 3.3.6*

Went all the way to a mcdonalds cause i have no money in the bank and it said i could get a big mac for 500 points clicked on it at the register and was going to show it to the lady and my iphone got a pop up and it completely backed out of the code and i couldnt get it again and wasnt able to get the food

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2024-02-03, version 3.3.6*

This used to be a really good app that I liked and enjoy it but now it’s a waste of my time. They took off so many of the businesses including McDonald’s and Dairy Queen at so many places and now I have 88,000 points and I can’t use them.

### 1/5 — App Crashing

*2023-12-17, version 3.3.6*

Almost every time I go to hit a tab on the bottom, the app crashes. Very annoying.

### 1/5 — I live 6 hours away from all the stores offering these rewards😟

*2023-09-30, version 3.3.6*

I guess I’ll keep this app to rack up points in case I ever travel to Texas which is 6 hours away from me (the closest stores that are offering rewards from this app)

### 1/5 — Distractions not accurate.

*2023-05-11, version 3.3.6*

Although this app has stopped me from using my phone while driving altogether, my phone had NEVER left my pocket or let alone moved in my pocket and I’m getting distractions while driving that affect my score.

### 1/5 — Rewards are inconvenient

*2023-05-07, version 3.3.6*

It’s really a great concept but needs work. I rarely use my phone while driving so I thought this would be great. I rack up points easily but I can’t even use them.

Only certain locations work and there’s not a lot. For example, we wanted smoothie king and I was going to use my points until I realized I couldn’t at the location we went to. We usually go to Georgetown or cedar park location since those are closest to us, but no, it doesn’t work for either place. We’d have to drive to Austin which is about 30 minutes with light traffic, to use my points. Why would I do that?? That’s extremely inconvenient to save a couple of bucks.

And those 2 areas only have like 4 options and half of them are sonic so really just 2 options. If a company is going to opt in to this app stuff, then they should be making it available at all of their locations, not just one location in one little area.

Sorry, but I’m not going to pass multiple locations to get to the one that actually works. Yeah I’ll save $5 while spending maybe $15-$20 in gas, not to mention the time. Driving 30+ minutes when there’s one 10 minutes away doesn’t sound great.

Basically, if what you want happens to be in the area you’re in or are going to be (which means you gotta plan ahead), then great. If not, then the rewards are pretty useless

### 1/5 — Uh

*2023-04-15, version 3.3.6*

For whatever reason, it doesn’t let me register because I don’t have an American number

*2022-06-25, version 3.3.5*

Great App! There have a few more businesses added for rewards. I just wish there were more sit down restaurants participating.

### 5/5 — Awesome if you live where the stores are that except.

*2021-12-26, version 3.3.4*

The app is awesome used to go to dinner in Texas get of food for cheap. Now in Oklahoma the options are a lot less need to widen the area of coverage been racking my points up with nothing to spend it on. Thanks
