My issue is the scanner. It used to work most of the time, and now it barely ever works. I do not have an old phone, so that is not the issue. ### 2/5 — Hardly Any Reviews *2024-12-28, version 4.5* I just started using the app. Out of all the things I scanned so far, about 10 maybe, only 3-4 had an update. No review on food quality for the rest I scanned which was pretty disappointing considering I have to pay for the app after 1 week of use. Also, it might be good to add a feature that allows me to see the items I’ve already scanned. Similar to the Yuka app I currently use for food and cosmetics. It allows me to scan quality and saves all previously scanned items for me to view later. If the product I’ve scanned does not pass Yuka’s quality check it also provides me with similar products that do pass the quality check. ### 1/5 — The scanner doesn’t work 98% of the time *2024-06-05, version 4.5* I subscribed to this app because it was so recommended on different sites. My dog is allergic to so much so I thought it would help in finding better food and treats. It may if it would actually scan a bar code! I have a new iPhone so no outdated phone. Cannot tell if they're good or bad scanner works sporadically an app often hangs. Tried going to my account to cancel my free trial, but there is no place to go to my account. Please fix this so I can actually keep the membership ### 2/5 — Not reading harmful ingredients *2022-12-11, version 4.5* This app it does not really reads the harmful ingredients in cat’s food. I have another app for humans and it reads my cat’s food ingredients and when this app says that the food I’m scanning doesn’t contains harmful ingredients, the human’s app is reading that my cat’s food contains harmful additives, oils and fats which are controversial for the system. It is supposed to do so much more, and only tells you whether a treat was recalled. I thought it would tell you how safe it was, note certain ingredients, and ratings. I can find recalls doing an online search; this App is without merit. There was no 7-day trial. Offloaded the same day it charged me .99. Using the search feature doesn’t work at all, once filling in the fields and hitting search, nothing happens. The few brands I could manage to scan were not even available in their database. I live in Canada and it seems it doesn’t have any Canadian brands. Disappointed. I thought it’d be similar to Yuka, the app for human products buts it’s not even near as close as useful. This app has made quick work of finding safe treats for her, and also for our other pets who don’t have allergies but we want to keep safe from harmful ingredients. We usually stick with brands we know and trust but we still scan them occasionally to be sure nothing has changed. When we want to try something new we might run into a product that isn’t in the database, but Josie Jo is quick to respond and get the products added. We have four cats and we care about the ingredients that are in the treats and food we give them. It is nice to go to a store and be able to scan treats we are considering purchasing. Although we can read the ingredients ourselves, we don’t know what every ingredient is and it’s nice to have another “pair of eyes” looking over the ingredients. I recently scanned a product that was not in their database and I was surprised to have a personal email the next day by the developer saying they had added the product to their database.
