Of all the app for pregnancy in the itunes store, this one is the worst. Giving medical advice to unqualified people and limited . Go look for another one. Should be rated ### 1/5 — Very concerning *2013-01-19, version 1.0* If this is indeed an app for people who are in remote settings with little to no institutional back up available, the information offered herein is extremely concerning. This app is clearly based on a clinical obstetric model of care, and to advise people to apply that in a situation where there may be no clinics and no obstetricians is not only negligent, but stupid bordering on culpable. I am highly concerned by some of the information I have read in this app, and while the intention is noble, I can certainly see its practical application leading to dangerous, unnecessary and inept interventions. Needs a serious information review - perhaps with some input from people who really HAVE worked in this field, this time?? ### 1/5 — Not good- dangerous *2012-10-14, version 1.0* Do not think this advice is accurate some is dangerous ### 4/5 — Needs a few things *2012-09-04, version 1.0* Shouldn't you mention in stop the bleeding section that you can cut a 1 X 1 inch square of placenta and have the mom bite down on it to release oxytocin and clamp down the uterus? And can't vinegar clean utensils too? What if there is no cytotec or pit on hand? ### 1/5 — Scary! *2012-05-01, version 1.0* This is a scary app that is dangerously giving medical advice when it should not be. I'm SHOCKED that this app was even published. Doesn't apple even read the content of these app submissions???? If the assumption is that you are stuck in the North Pole with a pregnant woman with absolutely no access to medical care - fine, I guess this will do. But the danger here is that people who have absolutely no medical knowledge are being "taught" how to be a doctor. Advice such as "give magnesium sulfate if you know how" is utterly ridiculous and extremely dangerous. This is just one of many idiotic suggestions this app makes. This drug can only being given in a medically supervised setting with an IV and monitors for breathing, blood pressure, heart rate not to mention a fetal monitor. You can kill someone by giving this drug! I've read those reviews that say this is perfect for healthcare workers in remote areas, blah, blah...
