Being forced to have a portrait display / view of the app makes this totally unusable. Lazy developers……. ### 1/5 — Won’t load/work *2023-08-28* Download the app but every time I try to open it, it just says “Failed to load application data. You must connect to a Wi-Fi or cellular data network to access this data.” I am on my home network with Wi-Fi and it won’t work/load. I’ve also check for software updates on my iPad and iPhone and they are all up to date. Looks like it would be helpful once it loads. Until then I have to give it a one star. Maybe the app developer needs to update the app. **Developer response:** The SAFE Toolkit App was just rebuilt/reloaded and is awaiting approval from iOS (SORRY!) This should be available by the weekend... ### 2/5 — Crashes consistently *2014-06-07* Looks like a useful app, but it crashes after about 1 minute every time I open it, no matter what I am doing. **Developer response:** This app does *not* load anything on your phone but instead only functions when you are reliably connected to the internet (this insures fresh and accurate data). Please try with a reliable internet connection (cell or network). ### 3/5 — Please hire a designer *2022-06-02* This looks like it was designed by my 8th grader. She doesn’t have a favorite color but rather loves all of them equally, and it looks like this designer feels the same way. The “Talk to Us” page in the screenshot here no longer exists and that’s unfortunate because I can’t give feedback directly to them, and also because it actually looks well designed. Most of the links in many of the sections don’t even open anything. They look clickable but don’t work. I would hate to see a student glancing at my phone while I’m using this app. It would make me look incredibly unprofessional to be getting endorsement language from an app with these colors. It makes me embarrassed to be a SAFE member and I hope they’re working on an update. **Developer response:** Ah yes, the modern requirement to provide sexy dancing icons...sorry! My intention is to supply relevant safety data, but yes, we are also working on an update to meet "modern expectations!" 🤣 ### 3/5 — Not working *2021-04-08* The app started out fantastic then I tried to open the app the next morning and it keeps saying do you need a Wi-Fi signal or cellular data. It would not open on my iPad my iPhone or another iPad that I have. The app crashed. **Developer response:** This app does not “store local data” on your phone (it has to have access to the internet. It had a problem 12 days ago which was resolved!! (That was heart-stopping w/ SnF on the horizon!) All should be fine now👍😀 Thanks for using the SAFE toolkit! ### 4/5 — Lots of great resources! But… *2023-08-03* They obviously put a lot of energy into gathering lots of good, useful info in one place. The downside? The app is like a hyperactive MySpace website from the 90’s… busy, confusing and endless linkage ### 5/5 — Must Have for CFIs *2019-11-01* This app is a great resource to quickly reference endorsements and other useful information. I find myself using it many times as day, a must have for CFIs! **Developer response:** Thanks for the great review (we need more!) Please share the SAFE Toolkit widely and LMK if you discover errors or have ideas (reply tab on App!) Thanks👍😀 ### 5/5 — Great for CFIs *2014-05-01* This puts many apps for CFIs together in one place. Easy to use at the airport. The NWS app is the best way I've seen to get aviation wx easily on the phone. **Developer response:** You are one of the early users! Lots has changed (and fresh content weekly!)
