The app will ding you for completely normal breaking and acceleration in order to prevent you from getting the discount you signed up with. Don’t believe me? I never filed a claim yet. Safeco canceled my insurance anyway and had no alternative. Granted the insurance commissioner of California is a joke and has no clue what he’s doing. The same options are active for all my family member iphones. The app continues to notify of a error to activate though all Options are active. None of the information was saved and I am having to re-file the claim each time. They keep saying they’re going to relocate my family. I’ve paid these people tens of thousands of dollars over the years and now that I really need them for the first time? Nothing. Absolutely worthless. Get State Farm. It’s amazing, I’ve given these people more than $30,000 over the last decade to make sure I would never be homeless because of circumstances beyond my control. I’ve now been homeless for 6 weeks. Why bother? I’m going to start marketing myself as an app developer if this is how low the bar is. ### 2/5 — Terrible algorithm for "Trips" *2026-01-23, version 4.35.1* It seems the app has learned that I'm not the driver 90% of the time I'm traveling for work. So it will show "Not driving a vehicle" or passenger. So when there's 20 "Trips" and you get Into a habit of clicking through co firming them because I thought they all said "not driving" it decides to list the trips where there WAS an "EVENT" as I WAS DRIVING. Of course it's to late to unconfim the trip so it dings you for bad driving. What a crock of $### for an algorithm. Will not submit. App use to work just fine now glitches galore. ### 1/5 — Terrible tracking idea *2026-04-22, version 5.0.0* So they decide that your phone and solely your phones gps system is sufficient enough to track “hard braking” this fails to account for the plethora of situations in which you are not at fault for having to brake harder than 8 mph a second. Wether it be a sudden stop of the person in front of you or a light changing too fast they will track it and put the blame on you. Additionally they will ding you for rapidly accelerating regardless of your starting speed so quite literally pulling away from a stop sign a little too fast for your PHONE to track not even the car you will be dinged also as many others have stated getting on to a highway they basically want you to dangerously merge and not get up to proper speeds. Essentially if you blow through red lights at 50 miles over the speed limit as long as you didn’t accelerate or stop too hard you’ll be good. ### 1/5 — Liberty Mutual Link Broken *2026-04-18, version 5.0.0* Safeco username and password doesn’t work on Liberty Mutual’s app. ### 1/5 — Closes every time *2026-04-13, version 4.37.0* This app is the worst. It used to work fine for a few months and now it just closes on its own after I log in. I can’t even see my policy or billing.. nothing it just crashes and closes in seconds. No customer service, insanely high rates, doesn’t communicate with the department of motor vehicles.. they appear to be predatory and i perceive them as a criminal organization. ### 1/5 — The app crashes 100% of the time *2026-04-04, version 4.37.0* I am not sure if something changed, but over the past 24 hours I have had the app immediately force close ~20 times. Each time I try it's the same behavior: The app opens correctly when not logged in, but once I click continue to log in with my account, it just shuts down and closes out.
