## What is SafeDosePro?

SafeDose® is an electronic medication reference tool. It contains acute medications provided for pre-hospital and hospital workers by SafeDose as a public service.

SafeDose provides mixing instructions, dosing, and drug administration information on a single, actionable page. Choose the patient’s weight and clinical need, and instantly see the dose in mg, volume in mL, dilution, delivery information, and dangers.

The content is tailored to remove irrelevant information and to eliminate the need for math or memorization by the caregiver. This improves medication safety, reduces the cost of care, and improves clinical outcomes.

iMedicalApps’ review describes SafeDose as "useful and well designed... Undoubtedly, the potential for medication errors would be reduced if practitioners were to rely on the information provided by this app".

A university research study published in the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics found that after less than 10 minutes of training, the use of the SafeDose system increased the accuracy of medication doses prepared during simulated pediatric emergencies by nearly 25 percent, and completely eliminated clinically significant errors.

The research also showed that use of the hospital version of SafeDose, as compared to traditional processes, reduced the time required to prepare medication during an emergency.

Used by hundreds of hospitals and many thousands of practitioners, all SafeDose medical content is medically reviewed for accuracy.

### 1/5 — No longer free access

*2024-01-03*

Tried to log into my old account and all old accounts have been deactivated. This is no subscription service of $24 per month. Nothing on the information page identifies these changes or that it is a subscription now.
It was a great resource for nurses and paramedics, and its prior life.

### 1/5 — From non-subscription to subscription

*2023-12-16, version 13.0*

I paid a full version for $20 when apps were at $0.99. I never asked for updates. I was ok using the prior version and all of a sudden they changed it to exorbitant subscription prices

### 1/5 — Yanking an emergency app is … dangerous

*2023-09-30, version 13.0*

Most of my work is in the outpatient clinic and the newborn nursery, but I do occasionally get called to pediatric emergencies.

I bought this app years ago and was very happy to have it on my phone and accessible. I did, in fact, use it several times in the emergency room.

I received no notice whatsoever that my access to this app would no longer be valid. I’m fortunate to have discovered this in a non-emergency setting, but seriously – this was an extraordinarily dangerous thing to do.

### 3/5 — latest update disappointing

*2023-05-15, version 13.0*

I’ve used this app for years. Absolutely loved it and used it daily. It was the best pediatric app for medication dosing I’ve ever seen. For some reason the developer thought an update was needed to a perfectly working and excellent app. I’ve now used this updated version for a few shifts on my job and find it to be cumbersome and now slow. It used to be instant results, but now there’s a delay.
There are more features that I personally don’t need and never will use. I doubt the average practitioner would ever use them either no matter what area of peds they work in. The average clinician just needs the dose for the drug. The rest is extraneous material that no one has the time get in to with the fast pace environments that we all work in.
All Another huge disappointment was the new subscription fees that are very costly, a huge increase to what it was prior. I used to personally promote this app to all the new practitioners I mentor, but now I do so with reservations because of the cost. Unfortunately, I will be ending my subscription at the end of next month.

### 2/5 — Great idea, buggy app doesn’t work right now

*2018-10-30, version 6.01*

Great idea but effectively useless because I can’t get any of the buttons to work when using it on my iPhone X. Not very helpful if I can’t access anything I am paying for. Canceling my subscription.

### 1/5 — DO NOT UPDATE 😒🙄

*2018-03-25, version 5.70*

Update deleted all the drugs... nice.

### 1/5 — Index broken with last update

*2018-03-23, version 5.60*

On my iPhone X I can only access the previously viewed meds. Nothing shows up in alphabetical listing or in look up anymore :((

### 5/5 — Great

*2016-02-26, version 4.5*

Love it. Worth it's weight in gold when needed in ER or at clinic. Saves time. Responsive staff the one time I contacted them. Highly recommend.

### 1/5 — Content deleted

*2015-11-19, version 4.5*

Paid for the Pro Version of this app in the past. Now all content deleted for their subscription model.

### 1/5 — No longer useful

*2015-08-09, version 4.35*

I use to use the app everyday at work now now it's totally useless.
