## What is SafeTTC?

The SafeTTC App offers Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) customers a quick and discreet method for reporting harassment, safety concerns or suspicious activity directly to the TTC’s Transit Control Centre. Using this app, customers can do their part to help make transit safer for all by providing detailed reports of incidents and situations that are observed on the TTC system – whether on a vehicle, in a station or at a bus or streetcar stop.

From the app home screen, customers have two easy options for contacting Transit Control:

- The “Report a Problem” button allows users to send text and photos or videos directly to Transit Control. When reporting an issue, customers can select from easy drop-down menus for vehicle type (bus, streetcar or subway), route numbers, and station locations, and report categories to assist Transit Control in assessing the situation.

* The “Call Police” button will connect customers directly to 9-1-1 dispatch and should only be used when emergency police, fire or medical assistance is required.

The application is designed with the subway in mind. If you send a report in an area without cellular connectivity, it will be stored and sent automatically as soon as you’re connected again. The system is also designed to send text before pictures so that Transit Control receives reports as quickly as possible.

Additional Features:

Customers can also receive alerts (sometimes called BOLO – Be On the Look Out) through the app. For example, SafeTTC may display information about a missing person, such as their description, picture and where they were last seen. If you have information related to an alert, users can contact or send a report to Transit Control through the app.

NOTE: Sending a report through this app will not summon emergency responders. Always call 9-1-1, either through the app or on your phone, in the event that emergency police, fire or medical assistance is required.

### 1/5 — THEY DO NOTHING

*2026-05-14*

I reported smoking, shoving, and pushing on my bus and got nothing. Bus driver what also useless but what’s new! Being safe on the TTC will never be a thing.

### 1/5 — Not useful

*2026-05-12*

No response and not enough information that I can put. A piece of garbage

### 1/5 — Forms are better

*2026-04-19*

Found that using forms was the only way to hear back

### 1/5 — Useless.

*2026-04-13*

Useless responses. People are obviously not trained at all. 10 year old could do a better job. Waste of tax dollars. Get more special Constables instead of these idiots.

### 1/5 — Just as good as the service.

*2026-01-29*

This is the best way for the TTC to pass the buck.

Terrible service, terrible employees.

### 5/5 — Easy to report fare eviction incidents

*2025-05-08, version 3.0.0*

Found this app very useful to take photos and videos of fare eviction incidents that delay commute time and scare people to-from work.

### 1/5 — Trash App

*2025-04-03*

App is trash. Responses are from bots and they never help you.

### 1/5 — DOES NOT DO ANYTHING

*2025-02-03*

Even when I’ve been in a very potentially dangerous situation, the app does not contact help or anything. It just takes reports down. There was a violent man on the subway when I got on at Yorkdale, and after messaging multiple times, they said they would ask security at Union station to check it out. ALL the way at Union?? It’s absolutely ridiculous.

### 1/5 — The operator does not respond right away

*2024-09-23*

The operator does not respond right away and does not ask for additional details and instead refers the matter to the police

### 4/5 — Unstable app

*2024-09-07*

The app is unstable. I try attaching a photo or video from my phone library and it won’t allow it. The internet signal on the trains is usually poor and everything gets very slow or there’s no signal at all.
