I’m traveling in Japan and installed this app to be warned of earthquakes. However, I got an alert via the mobile provider, but this app didn’t notify me at all. Also, I’ve set the location to automatic, but it keeps my initial location and I can’t change it at all.

「英語」という感じが「English」のことだと理解している人だけが、英語モードに切り替えることができる。その他の言語を選ぶときも同じ。そんなばかな。

本アプリをインストールしていただいた際の最初の言語設定画面では、スマートフォン本体に設定されている言語で表示がされる仕様になっております。
そのため本体の言語設定が英語の方には、Safety tips内で表示する言語を選択する際、言語の一覧が英語で表示されます。（例：Japanese、English、Korean…）
またアプリの設定画面から改めて言語を変更する場合、言語一覧が最初に選択した言語にて表示されることについては、今後の開発内で検討させていただきます。

This app is still crashing when you attempt to add a second location for earthquake warnings. Disappointing.

Fairly non-disruptive, and helped when we had bad weather. However, this doesn’t really help at all with earthquakes (except maybe finding a shelter post-earthquake?).

Also, please make the evacuation updates stop. It’s been 24 hours, and it keeps going off for cancelled evacuations.

O aplicativo está enviando notificação de evacuação porém quando clica no popup ele diz que não existem notificações de evacuação. Chegou uma notificação agora pelo app do governo e em seguida no app de vocês, mas quando eu clico diz que não tem alertas de evacuação.

ちゃんとテストしてリリースして
負荷テストして下さい
御社で再現出来ませんとかこれから日本の大半を担う外国人の命を守るソフトウエアに言って欲しくない。まだまだやるべき事はあると思いますよ。同じソフト屋として今後の努力を期待します

台風19号の影響によりアクセスが集中し、アプリが正常に動作しない状況が発生していました。

状況を判断してサーバ増強等の対応を実施していましたが、アクセスしづらいままの状態になっていたかと思います。

In an emergency, this is not the resource you want to spend your time on.  The search button on the medical information page does not even work and the page itself is a white html page. It is pathetic and would be a waste of precious time in n emergency.
The other features are also not intuitive and the interface is not user friendly.  I have lived in Japan for quite a few years, and I couldn’t even figure it out.  What tourist is going to know the info asked in order to find helpful information.  
This is another example of an app that is good in theory but executed in a bubble without utilizing building blocks of common international best practices. Please try again and test with native speakers for all the nationalities you are trying to help.

I have had this app for a few years now. It is still not user friendly. Instructions are poorly written and worded.. 

If this app is for use by foreigners, then this app must be easier to use and the instructions be clearly understandable.

The paragraph below, copied from the app, does not make any sense. Someone needs to read-translate into English.

“Please make sure that the device which has not been changed a prediction point for more than 1 month from final change date of setting will not be able to receive notifications. If you turn automatic setting of a point on, you can receive notifications even in the case that it has been more than 1 month since you set a prediction point.”

This app is terrible. Think about how crucial it is to get a timely message about an earthquake, tsunami or eruption. This app is 遅い X10! So, right now there has been several earthquakes; my notifications are on, my phone has signal and this app is not informing me of anything. NHK is pinging me and letting me know what is happening. I will be deleting this app and using NHK from now on. In the past 20 minutes there have been 6 quakes and this app has said nothing. You should be ashamed!

I downloaded this app on the recommendation of the JR Pass website. Couldn’t even set up my locations and preferences without it crashing and closing repeatedly. Doesn’t even save the info I had managed to add. I have no idea why “developers” would leave this app published. Pretty embarrassing.

5개 지점을 추가할 수 있다고 되어 있는데 추가하려고 선택하고 나면 강제종료됨. 또한 앱 실행 시 사용언어와 국가를 계속 새로 입력해야해서 불편함

南海トラフ地震臨時情報で「巨大地震注意」が出ていますが、“No warning has been issued”のままで、なんの情報もありません。確かに今避難しろという警報ではないのはわかりますが、これでは外国の方に勧められません。

来日間もない外国人に初級日本語教室で、このアプリのインストールをお薦めしています。リンクのページもとても便利に思います。日本人の私にも役に立つと思いますのに、評価が低いのが不思議でなりません。

評価された時期が早過ぎたのでしょうか。
大震災が現実に起きた場合のこのアプリの挙動を検証はできていませんが、平時の今(2024 春)は、とても良いと感じています。

All the negative reviews seem to be years old. The app works great and allows you to manually or automatically set your location (remember to update if you’re traveling). Relevant alerts in English are incredibly helpful.

Most updated, almost real-time status on things in Japan that you normally don’t experience elsewhere.  Warnings about the pending disaster such as earthquake, volcano eruption, etc. provided promptly.  Also lists the questions for foreigners to ask in multiple languages during the emergency.  However user needs to know the name of areas of the interest to have more focused information provided.  Highly, highly, recommended for travelers when traveling inside Japan.
