Now a search results in all kinds of brands unrelated to my request. On top of this, after I search for a specific product, the “Deals” tab no longer applies to that specific product alone and has become useless. Not app related, but the new black and white in-store product labels are horrendous. Difficult to read and I can no longer browse the aisles looking for red tag deals. And why isn’t the app able to run on in-store Wi-Fi? It crashes and I have to turn off Wi-Fi. Why make shopping harder?! ### 4/5 — Hit & mess but still good *2026-08-11, version 2026.26.0* I have been shopping at Safeway for over a decade, and my experiences across the board, very depending on store, state & personnel. This is true with the app as well. These variables aside the navigation through the app to: making shopping list that can be shared, orders for pick up and/or delivered, is a breeze. If I had one complaint, re-accessing said list, it’s too complicated. When the order is in progress, I can access whenever I want, but it’s finished or if I want to check to see if I received everything then I have to go digging for it. ### 2/5 — Need some improvement *2026-08-11, version 2026.26.0* Prices of sale items does not reflect sometimes. Why do we need to clip coupons anyway? As of Aug 11 2026 the View All expansion feature in Buy Again section does not work. I always relied on this feature to remind and quickly select items to buy. Now I get pop up that I need to Update Safeway App; I update app and Veiw All still not working. I continuously receive this pop up. Seems like this is a bug that needs to be fixed with app. FYI - The device I use works great and operates with 17.7.11. I saw a button to add items to a shopping list which is ideal because it’ll categorize by aisle. When I did that, the 42 items went down to 35??? And when I look at the list, I only count 14 items that I can see on the list. Categories like spices, pasta, all frozen items are just gone/invisible. It just shows me a blank screen and a turning wheel. Happening for 2 days and I’ve tried force quitting the app several times. ### 1/5 — Fix this app and your website *2026-08-12, version 2026.26.0* I have written the same review before and the problems never get fixed. Each time there is a new update I update and hope that these issues have been fixed…NO! The app does not allow me to clip items in the weekly ad that are NOT a coupon. i used to be able to add any items in the weekly ad but not any longer. It states “ there is a service problem”…exactly, there is a service problem. When will you fix this? I go to the website to bypass this and have issues just signing in….I get error messages now. I used to be able to clip items from the add to my list. Now I can’t even do that. Your IT people are not listening and fixing the issues. Really frustrating! Now I have to handwrite my Safeway list so I don’t miss the special deals. ### 1/5 — App crashing in settings *2026-08-12, version 2026.26.0* Ongoing - Recent feature is that it crashes when you try and go into settings or members details. 8/11/26 - won’t let you select a payment type. Clicking on a payment type displays $0.00 rather than the last four digits of the payment. Advancing sends you back to the select payment type page. Selecting PayPal and advancing sends you back to the select payment type page. It still has old completed orders listed as out for delivery. Tried to complete a new order and it just keeps telling me to select a payment method even after I did. Don’t waste your time just to the store in person and avoid the hassle of this trash app. ### 1/5 — Devious app prices *2026-08-09, version 2026.25.1* Be very careful when using this app, Safeway may have three (potentially different) prices for items: in-store, pick up and delivery. I don’t know why they do this, it’s very devious. I had an item in the app “cart” but in-store it was listed higher. I asked the clerk and was given a long lesson on how I was using the app wrong, and that was a “pick-up only” price. One item had a pick-up price was 20% less than in store price… what’s the logic of that?! ### 1/5 — Fix the Lists *2026-08-09, version 2026.25.1* Half the time I try to add something to my “list” is doesn’t show up! It’s annoying because if you try to rely on that feature you end up forgetting things and you lose money because I go to another store to pick up the things I forgot. ### 1/5 — No aisle listed *2026-08-09, version 2026.25.1* App does not show what aisle a product is on or how many products are left. Would be nice to know if there was a certain product available instead of having to drive 25 minutes out of your way just to show up and look for the product and it’s not even there. I don’t know what type of grocery app wouldn’t want to list where products are at each store. Even what shelf number they’re on would be nice or a map. ### 1/5 — It’ll never work well *2026-08-09, version 2026.25.1* Says “out of date” refuses to work yet there’s no update available ### 1/5 — In Store Pickup is Painful *2026-08-08, version 2026.25.1* For some reason Safeway decided to hide the order code they need for pickup. Not in the “ready” email. The order email neither the clerk nor myself could find it. The app is painful to navigate and especially difficult to find an order number. I couldn’t even cancel my order and move on. Convenience of shopping is nice, but the app and pickup are a nightmare. I guess they want the delivery up charge and make it painful to do anything else.
