Instead of offering a free trial, or having some advertising – driven method of acquiring their currency tokens, or even offering a few rudimentary tokens just to give the option to see if the app is any good, it was a paywall right from the start. And from the look of it, the entire drawing toolbar is merely the iOS markup toolbar with standard fair on it. I’m sure the AI is great, but trust such as that is earned, and not hard to achieve. I wish you luck in the future. As this was a fail. **Developer response:** Sorry the paywall was a disappointment for you — as a small company, it's not feasible to offer GPU tokens at a loss at this time. That's what the $1 token pack is offered — it's the cheapest in-app purchase possible, and at least lets you try it out to see if it's of value to you. ### 1/5 — Poor *2024-12-29* Still poor, screen drawing area is tiny. Why when there is so much space available? Continually fails to connect but never clear what is failing? Managed to start 2 drawings&both triggered some sort of safety warning that wouldn’t display image. No easy way to contact developer. At least Apple refunded me quickly. ### 1/5 — Unacceptable *2024-06-24* Forces you to pay for tokens but it’s unclear what you get for what you’re paying for. I paid 99 cents to try it out which it burned through in less than 2 minutes. I was barely able to get one drawing even started before the app started asking for more tokens. And the results I started to see weren’t even close to my drawing. While if I was willing to keep paying, it might eventually get me something useable, this “trial” was unacceptable. **Developer response:** Hi, thanks for taking the time to review and sorry that you had a bad experience! Our backend GPU costs make it unfeasible to offer a free-tier type trial, but we're looking into providing a manual update mode that should make it less stressful when you want to compose your drawing without going through tokens as fast (and the real-time updates are less important to you.) On décrit ce qu'on veut voir et on dessine vaguement le positionnement des éléments. Encore mieux: on peut déposer une image pour calquer dessus! This will be really helpful for thrifty token savers who would rather fully complete their drawing before spending tokens on image generation. The new Flux model is accessible to subscribers, from the AI settings menu under the top nav. Flux is a high quality model, and takes on average 30 seconds or so to process an image. Please keep in mind that also means that Flux images consume tokens at a much faster rate than the classic SageBrush model. (Token price is displayed next to the clarity/steps slider.) That's why when Flux is enabled, real-time canvas updates are automatically turned off and you'll need to tap the 'generate' button on the AI canvas in order to process images. If you return to the 'classic' image model mode, you can switch real-time updates back on again from the same top nav AI settings menu. The Flux settings may evolve over time, but for now here's some pointers: + ControlNet strength lets you control how much the AI follows your brush strokes. Set all the way up, the AI will do little imagining. All the way down, and the image won't look very much like your drawing. + Img2Img strength is very sensitive, and works best with drawings or input images that are already very detailed. Try turning this all the way down if you're getting AI images that look too similar to your drawing. + Control Style has two modes 'edges' (often called 'canny' in AI Art terminology) and 'depth'. Edges works best for sketches, and depth is good when your source drawing or image is more realistic. Remember that if you're hitting the safety filter a lot, you can tap the seed 'dice' button to randomize the seed. Sometimes that will change the generated image enough not to trigger the filter. You can also try changing your prompt slightly. Looking forward to seeing what you all create! ### 2.5 — 2024-03-15 Enhance! Want to take your AI Art to a new level of detail and resolution? Once you've generated an image, an enhance icon will appear in the top corner. Tap it and follow the onscreen instructions. Enhance will upscale your art to 2048x2048 pixels, and add detail based on how high you set the 'creativity' control. The button will tell you how many tokens will be used (which will vary depending on the amount of 'creativity'.) Depending on the settings and server load, it can take between 30 seconds to a few minutes to enhance – but the results are worth waiting for! Same great app, now in the palm of your hand. Great for doing a quick sketch on the go! Out on a walk and have an idea? Import a photo, finger paint on top of it, write a prompt – and get a beautiful AI interpretation, super fast! Inspired by the smaller form factor, SageBrush now supports pinch to zoom on the drawing canvas – one of the most frequently requested features. Subscribe for the best value on tokens! ### 2 — 2024-01-17 Styles, ControlNet, and more! Explore a range of new options in the settings menu that will supercharge what you can create in SageBrush. Turn on ControlNet and SageBrush will follow your brush strokes more accurately than ever. And when ControlNet is on, you can crank up the 'prompt strength' without losing the shape of your composition – and gain a ton of imaginative AI detail. Since ControlNet adds an additional AI model to the process, SageBrush will consume tokens slightly faster while enabled. With the new styles available in the settings menu you can quickly experiment with a ton of different looks for your art – from classical drawing styles to solarpunk, emulsion photography, and a whole lot more! These get you to an interesting image very quickly, and work _with_ your prompt – so you can get as creative as you want. Whether you're totally new to prompting, or just want to quickly explore the latent space without having to do a lot of repetitive typing, styles are a lot of fun. And SageBrush now remembers where you left off! Rather than opening up to a default state, SageBrush will remember your prompt, settings, etc – so you can pick back up where you left off. In addition to all the new features, SageBrush's interface got another round of improvement. For those times when you really need the keyboard open, the AI canvas remains visible and the prompt window adapts intelligently to different device orientations. And even though most people would probably never notice, typography and buttons throughout the app got more attention. It's the little things – they add up to a more beautiful experience. ### 1.5 — 2024-01-02 Exciting update: more value for your tokens! The default quality level is now 20% cheaper per generation, so you can draw even longer for the same number of tokens. Image import / Background colors: You can now drag images directly onto the canvas – including from the AI generation window! You can also import from your Photo Library via the new 'layers' menu, as well as quickly set a background fill color. Get farther with fewer brushstrokes! Quality settings: You now have control over the number of quality 'steps' the AI takes in generating an image. The slider will tell you how quality affects token cost. Quality is subjective – lower step counts can sometimes give the best vibe for a particular image! Simpler, cleaner UI: Both light and dark modes received design polish in this update.
