## What is Sahaar?

Prayer, at the right time.

Sahaar is a prayer times app built for iPhone: accurate prayer times, a real Fajr alarm that rings even in Silent mode, widgets, Live Activities, Quran and an Apple Watch app.

Sahaar is free to use. Sahaar Pro is an optional subscription ($19.99/year or $3.99/month; prices vary by region) that adds alarms for every prayer, custom sounds and more.

A RELIABLE ALARM

Sahaar doesn’t rely on a standard notification to wake you.

Using AlarmKit, Apple’s alarm framework introduced in iOS 26, Sahaar’s Fajr and suhoor alarms behave like alarms from the Clock app: they ring even in Silent mode and Focus and remain on screen until you dismiss them.

ACCURATE TIMES, TRANSPARENT METHODS

• 18 calculation methods, including Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egypt, Karachi, Moonsighting Committee, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore, Tehran, Türkiye (Diyanet-compatible), France, Russia and more
• Published timetables where supported by a regional authority
• Standard (1× shadow) or Hanafi (2× shadow) Asr, selected by region and adjustable in Settings for supported methods
• High-latitude rules for northern regions
• Prayer times are calculated directly on your iPhone

RAMADAN, BUILT IN

• Before Ramadan, Sahaar asks once whether you’d like to move your Fajr alarm earlier for suhoor — you decide
• Iftar countdown as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
• A full Ramadan timetable for your city, ready to share
• Optional “Did you fast today?” tracking after iftar
• Hijri calendar with regional authorities including Diyanet, Umm al-Qura, FCNA and ECFR, and the holy days each one recognises

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

No account. No ads. No data selling. No third-party tracking. No advertising ID. No personal analytics.

Your location never reaches Sahaar’s servers. It is shared only with Apple services when needed for place names, maps and weather. Your prayer, fasting, dhikr and Quran reading records stay on your device.

Sahaar sends only 14 anonymous usage counters, all listed in the Privacy Policy, and you can turn them off.

Requires iOS 26 or later.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-10-14

What’s new in this version:

• Alarms & Notifications redesigned: all five prayers at a glance — icon, name, a short summary like “On time · Seher” and an Alarm / Notification / Off badge. Each prayer’s settings live on its own page: Off / Notification / Alarm, timing, a reminder before the time ends, sound and “Play the sound”. Snooze is a single picker and alarm days are day chips.
• First launch is a single welcome screen: it says in one line why location, notification and alarm permissions are asked; once granted, Today opens directly.
• Picking a city outside Türkiye is easier: search opens with “Type your city or district”; if nothing is found or you are offline, the page says so.
• When you start Sahaar Pro from a prayer’s “Alarm · Pro” option, that prayer’s alarm is set as soon as the purchase completes.
• New installs follow the device’s light/dark setting.
• Fixes: widgets no longer show a neighbouring day when a day cannot be calculated; the Singapore (MUIS) timetable no longer flips for Asr; Regaib night and Diyanet Hijri month starts match exactly; remaining time rounds the same way in widgets, Apple Watch and Siri; Fajr notifications respect the suhoor timing too; Apple Watch and widget counts survive a corrupted queue file; a change that cannot be saved to disk is reverted with a warning instead of silently vanishing; the Qibla hint is not clipped with large text; Restore and monthly-plan texts on the Pro screen are corrected.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-10

Sahaar now speaks French: the interface and a French Quran translation (Hamidullah). The Today screen reads better at large text sizes, and a doubled quotation mark in the verse of the day is fixed.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-08

No changes to the app in this version; we only refreshed our App Store page.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-08

What’s new in this version:

• Calendar redesigned: the timetable now uses the whole screen. The month header, day card and timetable scroll together, and the column headers stay on top as you scroll. Tap a day to see its prayer times.
• Rhythm redesigned: only the title stays on top. The Today strip shows each prayer’s time, the week card shows how many prayers you marked with a progress bar, and the table header stays on top as you scroll.
• Prayed marks now live in Rhythm: tap a prayer in the Today strip at the top of Rhythm › Prayer. After midnight, last night’s Isha stays there too. On the Today screen, prayer rows are simpler and the alarm and notification icon is larger.
• Quran: on first open you see the verse of the day (Arabic and translation) and a one-tap “Start reading”. Recitation pauses when you switch tabs and keeps playing on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
• A notification that comes before prayer time now says “10 min to Dhuhr” instead of “Dhuhr time”.
• The Qibla direction is calculated from your device’s live location.
• Hear your alarm sound first: from Listen… in the Sound menu you can set a 5-second test alarm with the iOS alarm sound.
• When you change the city manually, the calculation method you chose is kept. Changing an alarm setting no longer opens a permission prompt.
• Small screens and large text: text that overflowed, was cut off or overlapped is fixed, and the Today dial fits small screens.
• On the Pro screen, Yearly and Monthly plans appear without scrolling.
