## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.6 — 2026-08-12

**New**

- Measure distances on the map: tap to drop points and see the distance of each leg plus a running total at the top. Works with or without an active trip, on both the standard and OpenSeaMap charts.
- Name your positions: add a location name to any logbook entry, with tap-to-fill suggestions based on where you are. Names appear in the entry and in your PDF logbook.
- Faster trip replay: play back your track at 4× and 8×, in addition to 1× and 2×.
- Customizable Navigation tiles: long-press either metric tile to choose from SOG, SOG AVG, HDG, COG, CTS, DTW, TTW, DTD, TTD and HEEL.
- Show or hide waypoints on the map with a new button — toggles your waypoints and route together.
- Choose your logbook map: export the PDF with either a vector or a satellite chart.

**Improved**

- The line to your active waypoint is now dotted for easier readability.
- Trip durations over 24 hours now show as days and hours on shared photos and videos.
- Anchor Watch: the swing circle is now a clean outline, and the drift trail uses smaller dots that fade with age.
- Cleaner logbook PDFs — the speed legend moved to the top-left so it no longer covers the map credit, and the "Entries" heading always stays with the first entry.
- Cockpit data (SOG, COG and position) now appears reliably on video and photo overlays.
- Anchor logbook entries no longer show meaningless course and speed.
- Deleting large trips no longer freezes the app — it now runs in the background with a progress indicator.

### 1.6.5 — 2026-07-22

New:

Weather tool: Worldwide forecasts for your current position or any place you search — wind and gusts, waves, temperature, pressure, cloud cover and humidity. Interactive chart with 24-hour, 3-day and 7-day views; tap anywhere on it to read the exact values at that moment. Includes a 7-day outlook, your choice of forecast model (ECMWF, GFS, ICON, Météo-France and more), and pull-to-refresh.

Improved:

COG is now calculated from your actual track instead of the raw GPS course. Phone GPS often freezes or drops its course reading at low speed — typically right after a tack — which could display a badly wrong heading. In on-the-water testing with two phones recording simultaneously, gross errors fell from over a third of readings to virtually none. VMG and the Apple Watch display benefit from the same fix.

Also improved

Logbook entries: field labels stay visible while you type, position is shown in nautical degrees/minutes/seconds, and values are easier to read.

Tools are now listed alphabetically.

Daily trip statistics show the weekday (Mon, Tue, …).

### 1.6.4 — 2026-07-09

New

Weather tool — worldwide forecasts (wind, gusts, waves, temperature, pressure, cloud) for your current position or any place you search. Interactive chart: tap to read exact values, switch between 24h/3-day/7-day and wind/temperature/waves, plus a 7-day outlook. Choose your weather model and pull down to refresh.

One-tap weather in the logbook — a "Use current weather" button fills a log entry's wind, pressure, waves, visibility, cloud cover and temperature.

Photos full screen — tap a logbook photo to view it full screen, zoom, and save or share it.

Improved

Anchor Watch: Dropping the anchor now arms the watch automatically and records an "Anchor" logbook entry with position. Alarm also flashes the flashlight, adds a large Silence button, and won't re-trigger for 10 seconds after you silence it.

Cross bearing: observed position with one-tap copy, white bearing lines that read clearly on satellite, and a fix for a rare camera freeze.

Various fixes and refinements.

### 1.6.3 — 2026-07-07

Enhancements

- Anchor Watch now logs automatically: dropping and weighing anchor each create a logbook entry with your GPS position, using a new "Anchor" entry type.

- Cross Bearing: your observed position now shows the full coordinates on two lines with a one-tap Copy button and a confirmation.

- Cross Bearing: bearing lines are now white for much better readability on satellite charts and blue water.

Fixed

- Cross Bearing: fixed a rare issue where the camera preview could turn white and stop updating.

### 1.6.2 — 2026-07-05

New tools

- Cross bearing — take two compass bearings through the camera, plot your position fix on a nautical chart with distances, and save it to the logbook.

- Expense Splitter — record trip costs and who paid, split them among the crew, attach receipt photos, and instantly see who owes whom.

Cockpit & metrics

- New metrics on iPhone and Apple Watch: Heel angle, VMG (to the active waypoint), Trip distance and Trip duration.
- Heel-angle calibration for any mounting position, with a "capsized" readout beyond ±90°.
- Change a tile's metric with touch-and-hold to pick from a menu — swiping still works — and a cleaner layout without the page dots.
- A one-time tip shows how to switch metrics the first time you open the cockpit.

Navigation & maps

- Logbook entries (including cross-bearing fixes) now appear as markers on the Navigation map and on your trip maps.
- Measurement rings now switch to white in dark mode for better contrast on dark charts.
- Music now ducks before spoken announcements like "Waypoint reached."

Apple Watch

- Sound and haptic feedback when you reach a waypoint or destination.
- Storm / pressure-drop alert you can acknowledge right on your wrist.

Trips & logbook

-Add Skipper, Co-Skipper and Crew when starting a trip — now shown in the trip details and included in the PDF and other exports.
