Can you get it to work with WU? Yes, but you can’t follow their instructions. So disappointed with their overall quality and performance. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2025-02-09, version 1.0.3* First, contrary to sainlogic directions, it’s impossible to add one of their personal weather stations to WiFi using the app. You must use a web address that requires a tech savvy person. It took me 3-4 hours including mental breaks needed. Once connected, the app does nothing other than show what you can see on the PWS monitor. The Wunderground site shows so much more. After losing connection between the PWS array and monitor on a regular basis, I returned the entire system to Amazon and deleted this app. I bought an Ambient system which is working flawlessly and has an interesting and fun interactive app that shows a multitude of information going back over time including the current weather. But the time was already wasting by the time I found the review. ### 2/5 — ** Use WiFi Instructions From These Reviews *** *2025-01-28, version 1.0.3* I am taking the liberty to repost these excellent instructions posted here about a year ago at the date of this writing, January 27, 2005, by user "Lovelikeamaze" who is in my grateful estimation an absolute gem of a human being. My intent is to help them show up when sort by recent. I followed these instructions and it worked like a charm. The only caveat is in step 11 your browser may insist on using HTTPS, and my experience I was only able to reach 192.168.5.1 using plain HTTP. Those two use different ports to listen for incoming requests and the hardware on the display panel for the station may only be using the port associated with default Http:// Without further introduction I give you Lovelikeamaze kind and thoughtful advice: I KNOW HOW TO CONNECT TO THE WIFI ***** 1y ago• Lovelikeamaze 1. Make sure your console is plugged in and the wifi symbol is blinking 2. Make a wunderground account online. 3. After making an account go to your profile and push 'my devices' 4. Push add new device 5. When it wants you to select a device hardware select 'other' and then push next 6. Enter your address and then push next 7. Enter a name for your weather station, but don't change the elevation or hardware. Then answer the ones about where you put your Weather Station (height above ground and what surface it is on). Then push 'I accept' and then move on to the next page. 1. On this page it will show you your Station ID and Station Key, YOU WILL NEED TO REMEMBER THIS. 2. Now make sure you are on a laptop. On that laptop connect to your console's wifi. (it should be called sainlogic with numbers after it) 3. Open up an ICONGITO browser on the laptop. And search http://192.168.5.1. (MHW 1/27/25 note to not use https just plain http) 11) That will bring you to your FINAL STEP. Now you should fill out information about your wifi at your house (network's name and password). And then, you need to enter the ID and KEY from from before. ***YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FILL OUT THE LAST THING ON THERE ABOUT THE OTHER WEBSITE WEATHERCLOUD 12) Push save and it should all connect. And on your console you should see the correct time and date. Now instead of using the app Sainlogic to track the your data. You need to use wundeground. After fiddling with it for an hour or so, finally got it to see my WiFi Network, and SainLogic app says it’s ‘online’ but wont pull any data from my station in the app, and wunderground says it’s ‘offline’. A reviewer on February 28 gives great instructions, but basically, connect to your devices WiFi with your phone and then go to 192.168.5.1. It will pull up the same menu and actually work, then you can see all the info on Wunderground instead of this app. ### 4/5 — Functional and straightforward *2024-11-21, version 1.0.3* Gets the job done for daily data. My main problem with it is when you open it, you have to wait like 30-60 seconds for the data to refresh/update. It’s quicker to just kill the app, reload it, then it pulls in the newest data immediately. Don’t read any manual or anything else about connecting to wifi and Wunderground. Just read that review and it worked perfectly the first time for me. Been up and running for 2 months without issue and I have a mesh wifi platform at home, so I know this will work with those. ### 4/5 — It Works Fine *2023-05-17, version 1.0.3* This application isn’t the most sophisticated I’ve seen by a long shot. But it does do what it’s supposed to IF you follow the instructions. You will need to set up a WU account in order to get the required device id. It’s not going to work without it. There are a lot of steps which makes setup a pain, but now that it’s done I like the station. Hope that helps 🙂 ### 4/5 — The APP works but a bear to connect WiFi for the console. *2023-01-05, version 1.0.3* I spent about an hour and a half trying to get the Sainlogic weather station to connect to WiFi. To make things easier, do create a account with wunderground. After an account is created, then add your device to get a station ID and Key. Do copy the credentials. One time I did get a WiFi connection with my iPhone but no internet connection. I tried everything and the app instructions get confusing. I tried maybe five times. iPhone 11, iOS 16.1.2. The app may not be up to date with recent iOS updates that may prevented WiFi connection. Reading the three setup guides and manuals, it finally worked when using my laptop to connect the console to the WiFi On the laptop, connect to the weather station on the WiFi list, type in http://192.165.5.1. Then fill in the information. Once entered the weather station connected. On the APP need to add the device using the device credentials info from wunderground, all things worked. ### 3/5 — Follow THESE instructions *2024-05-20, version 1.0.3* Do not, under any circumstances, try to set up your Sainlogic device for Wunderground wifi usage using this app. It will never connect. Instead, do the following. 1. Set up an account on Wunderground as the instruction manual says and add a new device once your account is created. Be sure to write down the station ID and station key that is generated by Wunderground for your device. 2. Open up your browser and key in 192.168.5.1 and hit enter. This will pull up your Sainlogic device’s programming window. 3. Select your wifi network and key in the password for it if you have one. 4. Key in the aforementioned station ID and station key you got from Wunderground and hit “Save.” 5. Your station should now be connected. Check your Wunderground account to make sure it shows your station as being online and transmitting data. I’m deducting two stars from this review because the app is useless in setting up the connection above. But it works in displaying all data from the station AFTER you’ve set it all up. ### 3/5 — Worst App Ever? *2023-09-26, version 1.0.3* It has been one of the most frustrating experiences in a long time trying to use this app. Quite simply, it does not work if you follow the included manual. I finally logged on to my Linksys Router web page and added DNS 192.168.5.1 as the default IP address. I ensured the base was set to synch and it logged on.
