### 2/5 — Good but…

*2026-03-19*

When using on Mac, the window is fixed too big and you can’t easily access the controls at the bottom as they ‘hide’ behind the dock - needs a simple fix! The it would be much better.

**Developer response:** Edit: This will be in the next release. Keep your eyes out for it. Orig: Thanks for the detail in your feedback. I am working on an update and will make sure to take a look. Thanks for raising this issue!

### 2/5 — Was good until it stopped working

*2025-09-17*

Was a good app but doesn’t play any think

**Developer response:** Edit: We have not seen an email from you, so we are glad that you got it sorted out. Please update your review when you have a moment.

Hi Justus justo, could you please elaborate? Please email us at hey@districtonemobile.com

### 5/5 — Excellent training app for salsa dancers

*2024-06-08*

This app is an excellent tool to refine your understanding of the complexities of salsa music. It’s great to practice to, and helps nail the salsa “one” (or “two” if you’re an “on-two” dancer)

### 5/5 — Better and cheaper than buying a real instrument

*2024-05-20*

Go at your own pace and great UX, efficient and clean to learn. Would give it a try!

### 5/5 — Way more fun than a regular metronome…

*2024-04-26, version 2021.3*

Plus it has chord changes and you can tweak things to suit. Excellent practice tool. Was unsure then I found a demo video on YouTube and was sold. The counting voice is pretty bad but you can easy turn it off.

### 4/5 — Restore default values

*2024-04-21, version 2021.3*

There is no instruction or restore default value, so it’s hard to find original melody.
Everything else is perfect, very useful app

### 4/5 — Great little app, could be better…

*2024-04-15*

Tempo is in double time, so 120 is really 60. Also would be amazing if some 6/8 could be there too. If we could take a bar of 4/4 and break it up between the 16th notes and then triplets it would be the best app ever. Eg. 4/4/3/3 or 4/3/3/4 etc

### 5/5 — No sale conteo en español

*2024-04-03, version 2021.3*

La app esta muy bien pero no me da la opción de cambiar el conteo al español, solo está en inglés

### 2/5 — Asks me to rate it too many time

*2024-03-25, version 2021.3*

Would be 4 star. Just let me use the app I pay for.

### 5/5 — Excellent practise machine

*2024-03-04*

As a brass player I can work on my articulation in an idiom. I can vary the tempo and also vary the complexity of the backing.

### 5/5 — Rhythm

*2024-03-02*

*2023-12-04, version 2021.3*

Util y practica

### 5/5 — Le Top

*2023-11-22*

Bonjour,
La dernière mise à jour, une dinguerie!👍🏾🎹🎶

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2023-09-30, version 2021.3*

I tell every new dancer that I meet about SR

### 5/5 — Can the count be muted from the front screen?

*2023-07-05*

Question: what’s the toggle button at the very bottom left of the screen, under the microphone? It looks as though it should mute the count, but seems to have no effect. Can I mute the count from the front screen? (I can do it by tapping the mic, going to the next screen, hitting mute and back, but the toggle would be much quicker.)

Update: Got your answer, thanks so much. I’m just using percussion for now, so I hadn’t picked up on the chord changing.

**Developer response:** Hi KirstyBrit, thank you for your feedback and question! The quickest way to mute the voice is to tap the numbered counts to toggle them on/off. The toggle you asked about will change the chords automatically, which might otherwise sound monotonous. Try it by turning the toggle on and allowing the machine to run through several cycles (the piano or bass will need to be on). Please let us know if any further questions or feedback, thank you!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Başlık görünsün

*2026-03-10, version 2025.1*

Sakın indirmeyin berbat

### 1/5 — Thanks but no thanks!

*2025-10-29, version 2025.1*

This app is definitely not for latin percussion aficionados or professionals; enthusiasts and beginners will be satisfied though. The app is just too basic and does not capture the true variety of sounds that can be played in congas for example. It lacks so much. It sounds robotic.

### 1/5 — Thanks but no thanks!

*2025-10-22, version 2025.1*

This app is definitely not for latin percussion aficionados or professionals; enthusiasts and beginners will be satisfied though. The app is just too basic and does not capture the true variety of sounds that can be played in congas for example. No wonder the developers do not provide free sample sounds of instruments before the user pays the $3 to download the app. I do not recommend this app this. It lacks so much. It sounds robotic.

### 1/5 — No option to reset the count

*2023-09-26, version 2021.3*

There's no option to store settings and reset to default

### 1/5 — Confusing app

*2023-04-02, version 2021.3*

Not sure how to even use it

### 1/5 — Keeps asking me to write a review

*2023-01-10, version 2021.3*

Prompts to write a review are very distracting.

### 1/5 — Wrong clave

*2020-09-01, version 2020.2*

The son clave is incorrect. And there is just the son and rumba clave, not the salsa one.

### 1/5 — Fundamentally flawed

*2020-04-07*

The app only lets you pause and then continues on from where you left off. This renders the app basically useless since understanding this kind of music relies on understanding where you are in a complex set of rhythms.

Only allowing the app to just start wherever it was last paused just creates confusion as you are immediately lost.

**Developer response:** ***Edit: This has been updated in version 2020.1. You should see the update in a few days.

--------
That’s a fair point, thanks for your feedback. I’ll fix that in the next release. As a temporary workaround, I would suggest tapping the “1” in the instructor section on the bottom to signal so that it marks the “1”. You can also lower the instructor volume by tapping the microphone so it’s not so prominent.

### 1/5 — Problem

*2019-04-03, version 3.2.1*

No sound when I push play

### 1/5 — A how to use guide might be useful!

*2019-02-25*

May be it’s not obvious to me but a how-to guide would be good to get started.

**Developer response:** Hi Marian, did you follow along with the onboarding flow? If not, or if you need additional help, you may email me at hey@districtonemobile.com

*2025-03-17*

Или добавить русский или добавить возможность записать голос для каждого счета самостоятельно.

### 5/5 — Útil

*2025-02-22, version 2024.1*

Buena aplicación útil para la docencia y la práctica solo que no permite cambiar de idioma como indica. Solo está en conteo en inglés.

### 5/5 — Rights to Use in Online Classes

*2024-12-10*

The app is very good. We’ve used it in classes and with students multiple times! And I have also hear some of our peers love to use it as well! Question: We are wondering if it is allowable to use on online dance lessons we will be selling soon. Please let us know or how we can discuss an agreement to use the app for our online classes.

There’s little I would change about this app. Perfect for anyone who wants to study Salsa rhythm.
