### 2/5 — I want to like this app

*2026-03-13, version 1.3.21*

This app is pretty much unusable. I have an iPhone 17 and high speed internet but these maps will not populate at a reasonable rate. Even when I adjust settings to reduce information. It also superheats your phone and drains battery at a ridiculous rate. I’m talking like 1% every minute on the app.

### 2/5 — Tutorial

*2026-02-10, version 1.3.15*

Every time I open the app, I have to do the tutorial, even though I complete it over and over again.

### 1/5 — Junk app/Rip off

*2026-01-06, version 1.3.7*

This is nothing more than money grabbing gimmick. If you don’t know where a good fishing spot would be, pay for one month of this app, take a snap shot of everywhere you might fish, and then cancel it. The alleged “hotspots” apparently never change, despite water temperatures and wind directions changing. Heck, they can’t even tell you where to fish depending on what time of day it is, and believe it or not, that matters. You can get tidal information, predicted and current wind speed/temps from free weather apps. Solunar tables? Easy to find, free, and still not useful if you don’t know how to plug in other info. Need to read “local reports”? Well, I kid you not… there are generic, common sense reports from alleged locals that I’ve never heard of or met and my family has been in this area for many generations. But if you still think that’s useful, just be prepared to learn those reports are on average more than 2 years old. Now think about that. What good is that to you?

It ought to be a crime to sell such garbage.

### 1/5 — Slow app

*2025-12-26, version 1.3.7*

Takes forever to work with or without internet. Useless garbage

### 2/5 — Eh?

*2025-11-05, version 1.2.155*

This may be good in Fl, but not too impressed with the data offered in VA beach area. Smart spots are pretty generic, the obvious to anybody that fishes spots. And that’s fine. An obvious lack of data point is the layer that shows boat ramps…..the major city boat ramp in Lynhaven that everyone uses for bay access doesn’t even show up, on top of a handful of others I commonly use. Needs some work.

### 2/5 — Update fatigue

*2025-10-15, version 1.2.147*

It feels like the app updates daily for things you wouldn’t even notice. Make them a monthly thing. I shouldn’t have to update every time I open the app

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2025-10-05, version 1.2.145*

Gives water depth and tide. That’s the only useful part. Smart spots are useless. Fished 2wice trying smart spots and your better off following the birds. Over priced for sure.

### 1/5 — Honestly Unnecessary

*2025-09-30, version 1.2.143*

You probably already know most of what is on here, so unless you need the pat on the back for your own validation I would just keep my money…..

### 4/5 — Garmin support

*2025-09-25, version 1.2.141*

I love the app and use it regularly, but I’ve always wondered if there were a way to overlay spots on my garmin chartplotter. That would be a game changer for sure. Not having to get my phone out to see if I’m in the right spot would help me a lot.

### 3/5 — Great app

*2025-09-09, version 1.2.139*

Great app and gives you lots of hot spots in fishing and helps me improve to catch more fish. I only give it 3 stars for now because when I’m using the app in my phone, my phone battery depletes more faster than usual. It depletes more than playing a game on my phone. Hope you can improve it. Thanks

### 1/5 — Click trap

*2025-08-26, version 1.2.136*

Very expensive, almost $100/year. They want all your data in advance before they even show you the prices. Fishy App.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Tried to sigh up, couldn’t

*2026-08-22, version 1.3.59*

It kept asking for a payment but there was no place to enter a payment.

### 1/5 — Pay

*2026-08-13, version 1.3.57*

Why do you have to pay for fishing conditions this is stupid

### 1/5 — App only good for Florida

*2026-08-02, version 1.3.55*

All the info is 5 years old . Nothing new in years. Middle of July 2026 no new reports. Doesn’t show anything. I waisted my money on a one year.

### 1/5 — Can’t sign up

*2026-06-21, version 1.3.44*

In a constant loading loop when trying to sign up on app, multiple tries

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work :/

*2026-06-18, version 1.3.44*

Was ready to pay for a subscription after hearing good thing online but the app doesn’t even get you past the sing in page (from multiple devices)
Guess I’m stuck with Fishbrain

### 1/5 — Can’t sign up

*2026-05-19, version 1.3.36*

I’ve been trying and trying to sign up. For a couple of weeks now. It just stays thinking and never allows me to sign up.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother. Not free or worth the money.

*2026-05-16, version 1.3.35*

$100 a year or $12.99 a month. Doesn’t do anything for you. Downloaded the Simrad or Garmin if you want good stuff. Simrad is $39.99 a year and it gives you everything. This app signs me out each time and makes me reset password every time I try to sign back in. Garbage.

### 1/5 — Satellite images don’t load

*2026-05-15, version 1.3.35*

This app was great, but now there are weekly updates to improve tracking or other issues, but they refuse to fix the biggest issue which is the google earth layer not loading. I’ve quit using the app for most searches and now just go straight to Google Earth. It’s faster and cheaper

### 1/5 — Don’t update

*2026-04-28, version 1.3.32*

Unfortunately the new update has slowed the loading of the google earth layer to the point that the app is unusable

### 1/5 — Will not let me create account

*2026-02-21, version 1.3.16*

Says bad email address when that is not true. The little circle thing just spins and spins

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-17, version 1.3.58*

I use it everyday. Tides wind and areas to fish it is awesome

### 5/5 — Best fishing app. Tried them all.

*2026-08-10, version 1.3.57*

We moved to FL from NJ and spent 2 years trying to understand inshore. This app and platform blows everything else out of the water (pun intended).

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2026-07-27, version 1.3.53*

I had been on charters and stuff in the past but mostly fished freshwater. This app changed my life fishing in saltwater. The smart fishing spots, depth gauge on maps, oyster bed and seagrass locations. The videos they have as a member and the public ones on YouTube helped me so much. The biggest thing that changed the way I fish was the lures they offer on fishstrong.com, the prawn jr and the 2.0 are the only lures you will ever need”and occasionally a top water). Best investment I have made, I would highly recommend anyone that is new to saltwater fishing, just moved to a new area, or anyone that just wants to catch more fish.

### 5/5 — So much help to someone learning

*2026-06-25, version 1.3.46*

The app is great but I need them to bring back the active wind directions layer so I can overlay it on spots and get a read on the wind before I travel

### 5/5 — Spectacular Information

*2025-11-01, version 1.2.153*

This app is an all in one app for tides, weather, wind, bite score, and many other selectable features Along with the spots were the fish should be. Not there? Go to the next ones. I rarely do not catch fish!

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2025-10-29, version 1.2.153*

Best $13 I ever spent. After joining Salt Strong I have fished 10 times and caught fish every time out. That did not happen before SS.

### 5/5 — Way to expensive

*2025-09-17, version 1.2.140*

I don’t understand… why make it free to download when you can’t even sign up without purchasing. 100 dollars a year or 13 dollars a month are you serious?

### 5/5 — My Go To for all things Fishing

*2025-09-08, version 1.2.139*

Finding spots, marking spots, private catch log with all details automatically filled in (tide, moon, spot, etc), tracker, route planning - it’s the only tool that gives you 100 percent of what you need.

### 5/5 — Salt Strong App

*2025-08-28, version 1.2.137*

I was hesitant about purchasing this app, but in my opinion as well worth the money, I’ve used it for trying out new spots and it has paid off well worth the money!!😎🎣

### 5/5 — Fishing GPS

*2025-08-11, version 1.2.129*

This app is amazing, I use this app every single time I’m on the water. I’m able to plan out my fishing trips ahead of time no matter what city I’m in.
