Some sensors recognize my phone from 1 foot away, others need to be physically TOUCHING my phone in a very specific way. 2mm off and I can’t unlock the door. But hey, why would you need to unlock an alley door quickly? Life begins outside your comfort zone! Need an excuse to skip the gym? Install Salto and you’ll never be able to unlock the gym again! ### 3/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-06-22, version 8.20.0* Been given this by a hotel to open the door. It doesn’t work. ### 2/5 — Not great *2026-03-18* In theory you always have your phone with you, in real life that’s not quite how it works. Key fobs are still more convenient for frequent use. Some lock types are reasonably responsive, others are slow and require multiple attempts before they finally unlock. ### 2/5 — Widget is useless and doesn’t work *2025-06-30* Overall it regularly times out and the widget on the Home Screen is completely useless. You better never be in a hurry. It is absolutely annoying that the payment cards appear while using the widget to open a door. The texts that explain how to use the app are cut at least in German language so you cannot even read how to use the app properly. The linked webpage for help/ support is 404 not found. Cool cool cool. Why is there is list with events that show all opened door? How does that match with EU-Privacy? ### 1/5 — No sign out? *2024-06-06, version 8.16.2* Signed in with the wrong email - “you don’t have access to this application”. Now can’t sign out to sign in with the correct one, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. ### 1/5 — Unreliable garbage *2024-05-26, version 8.16.2* Will work one minute and then the next watch nor iPhone works on the lock. It’s faster just to use a code since you know that’ll work the first time instead of this app that makes you stand there and fail while others wonder if you’re waiting to tailgate into the building. Edit: nearly a year later still unreliable junk software. FYI it’s also been two years since they promised Apple wallet support, it all we got is an unreliable Apple Watch app to match the unreliable phone app. ### 1/5 — Terrible. *2024-04-28* Sadly my appt uses this system so I'm forced to use it. It limits what I’m able to carry inside and I often have to make multiple trips because I have one hand tied up using my phone. The app rarely works and I end up just sitting outside for 30 seconds for no reason only for the app to not connect to the door reader. It works sometimes but is very unreliable therefore I just use the keypad and manually type my door code in…but the keypad is glitchy and finicky also. Lastly the app tracks my every move within the apartment community. But if you have the Digital Key open, turn the screen turns off and on again, and then hold the phone or watch up to the reader, Apple Pay will take over. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback!
