It’s not clear why the app allows local testing. Shouldn’t this just be for accessing the Whitebox results? The app, it’s purpose, layout and usage, haven’t been properly thought out. Only way to complete test is to toggle the YouTube part of the test to off. Thorough & Private *2025-07-17* ✅ GREAT APP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‼️ Sam Knows is the only speed test our broadband provider accepts data from, so I was forced to try it. This rarely leads to any advantage to the customer, but it did on this occasion. Glad I installed it. ✅ Seems far more thorough in its testing than other industry standard speed testers I've used. ✅ EXEMPLARY PRIVACY POLICY 👏No privacy invasion and data scraping. I joined as soon as I heard about the SamKnowss testing. I had issues with my older vDSL connection. Since then I have moved over to a small ISP using coax as the last mile and then fiber. My box had all 1Gbps WAN/LAN ports and is a great switch for free AND tests and reports on my connection. Highly accurate to my connection. I have sent reports to my ISP using the embedded reporting when I wasn’t “believed” that there was an issue with my line. Because of SamKnows and this amazing hardware test platform I can use the data myself and SamKnows can also use the data to compile their own reports....making every ISP accountable! ### 5/5 — Purrrrrfect! 🐈 *2018-08-30* I just received and connected the samknows whitebox. The device and accompanying app results are extremely accurate. They reflect exactly what my cable company states I am receiving. Now i have the capability to view my download & upload speeds... without ads. Love this app! ### 5/5 — At last a great speed testing app. *2018-04-04* Simple to use and consistent results test after test. Provides the usual metrics and many more than most other speed testing apps out there. Recognises your connection type (wired / Wi-fi), your device and your ISP. Your settings and results are saved so you can keep track on how your ISP is performing.
