RUS ### 4/5 — Fun game but.... *2019-05-05, version 1.1.4* It was so fun and I made some great jams but it stoped working I want an update!!!!Please🙏🙏🙏 ### 3/5 — MUCH Potential... but not there yet. *2019-04-05, version 1.1.4* I want to be clear, this is a great little app. I’m a fan of creative limitations (big fan of Koala and Samplr, both good examples of apps using minimalism, to create limitations in order to force the artist to be more creative, to literally think outside of the box. And that is why I purchased this app. As good as this app is I cannot deny that I am a little disappointed. I feel like the hype was a little bigger than the delivery. I want to be clear here I respect all the hard work that goes into making these apps. I’m not some kid who just fell off the turnip truck, I’m an audio professional and an artist. That being said, there are a couple of things that could really improve this. I would encourage the Dev to take a look at koala, there are some features there that would take this app to the next level. The ability to re-sample within the application being one of them, frankly being one of the main ones. It opens up an entire world of Soundesign. Also being able to control whether the sample is triggered as a gauge or one shot would be very helpful. And last but not least, just to teach touch deeper workflow and the audio editor in the clipboard would be fantastic. It is easy to get a grasp on the mechanics. Great sound quality. However, I would like to see an option that allows for stopping a sample playing as soon as another pad is hit. Now, if I play a note it sustains until the end of the sample; if I play another note, they of course overlap. I think this function should not be too hard to implement. Would have paid double. ### 3/5 — Needs work *2018-06-23, version 1.1.3* What idiot programmes an application where the wave editor takes only some of the screen instead utilising entire screen so that we can edit the track better. Imagine the genius who decided to do that. It’s obviously someone who never edited anything hence doesn’t realise the importance of space with these things. You can only place samples that start from beginning. U cannot play sample (once u place it) from specific parts, it always plays from beginning which is very limiting. So all you can do is to cut the end or completely design a new sample that will have that desired part playing. Tedious. Not easy to create loops as they are never cut properly because wave is described as bars which makes it visually inaccurate. When u are trying to make a loop in editor it only plays once. Terrible. It should play in a loop so that u can cut the sample properly and hear the result whilst u are doing it. But no, the genius thought it should only play once in the wave editor. So you have to press play again and again hoping that once u have the final cut, it will sound like a perfect loop which is very unlikely. Works terrible when you are trying to take loops from songs. Zoom in and zoom out gesture in wave editor is inconvenient. It gives u the whole track so you have to always zoom out a lot to get to a normal 16 beats kinda length that everyone always normally plays around with. There is not really much you can do in their wave editor. Volume, pitch, speed (useless function) and balance. That’s it. There is no even a fade out, or fade in, echo or anything like that. Very dull and basic. There was so much potential and they just delivered a lazy sampler for amateur kids who like to show their momma how they recorded voices or some sound and can play them over and over again. Coming from iMaschine (loveit, but no midi, btw that's dumb NI, i don't want your hardware). I use with a bluetooth connected Akai LPD 8 on my iPhone. Tapping a blank pad to record / swiping the pad to edit and delete is an excellent paradigm. Really great! ### 5/5 — Perfect for Sketching Out Musical Ideas *2018-03-10, version 1.1.3* Wow. This app is fantastic. Love the Sampling engine, it crops the samples automatically (and allows for further, personalize customization of each sample. The sequencer grid is also a hugely welcome feature, and sets this apart from Loopy without a doubt. My only complaint is that I have a hard time zooming in and out, and with moving the looped section around. Not enough of an issue to take it down to 4 stars, though. ### 5/5 — Six out of Five *2018-03-01, version 1.1.3* March 2018. I was looking for an app to sample various sounds around me and turn them into beats. I used to enjoy Beatmaker until it stopped working. Tried a few others. This is the one. Recording samples and making tracks is very easy. Loved being able to trim the clips instantly and modify volume. Some unexpected (good) surprises were the prebuilt library for the percussion tracks in the timeline editor, and being able to load clips from either the clipboard or Dropbox. The only feature I could wish for is being able to swap the samples of two buttons quickly. (It is still possible to do this using cut and paste, but takes effort.) Also ich bitte den Entwickler die App zumindest einigermaßen für VoiceOver-Nutzer barrierefrei zu gestalten. Dann gibt es auf jeden Fall auch mehr Sterne aber bei dem aktuellen Stand der App kann ich leider wirklich nur eine schlechte Bewertung geben. It was a little short message to the developer please make this really interesting app which is not accessible for blind voiceover users please make it accessible also for the blind people. I really angry because I paid for nothing and I can’t use the app. And I listened to Luigi was and so on and I thought I can know make a little bit creative and interesting and funny sounds with this simple app but sadly not. Limited ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Absolutely Awesome!!! *2024-03-12* I love your sample, with its built in sequencer...I wouldn't mind paying for further development of it-say, with the ability to have more surfaces to record onto, and perhaps to release/quick end the sample playing with removal of touch, instead of it running its full length/coarse with a press-maybe velocity sensitivity (volume up down individually depending on where in the square you touch ,and holds raise and lower the performance volumes etc..?) ultimately, if you could incorporate a sampler keyboard/a layover or keyboard buttons instead of blocks, and the ability to multi-sample one sound according to a scheme or design such as lowering raising pitch etc... There's a thorough lack of decent samplers on the store which can sample both externally and internally any sound, then creating a user scheme with the chosen sound and sample slices etc... It would be easily worth quite a bit more especially nowadays with Apple Music software and music creation software, synths, and especially in the area of tools developed with a high usability for diverse music creation purposes according to user end input and self implementation/tailoring for whatever a musician might think of using tools such as these... ### 5/5 — Broken - Lost All Work *2021-01-29, version 1.1.4* Samplebot no longer runs on my iPad Pro. It shuts down as soon as it tries to initialize. I have lost a whole slew of one of a kind samples and a song I can never get back. My advice (if your copy is working), is to get your project out of Samplebot as soon as you can, or you might lose everything. Not only have I lost all my work, but the program no longer works. Yes I’m running the latest ios, blah, blah, blah. Seriously bummed! I changed the rating on this app because I actually really like the app, it’s just that I lost all my work. Suggestion: Sample Edit Double sample (Double tapping sample with 2 fingers) This would make a copy of itself and double the size of the sample for longer play time live. Unfortunately, it lacks a user guide: I was feeling stupid in front of it until I went on YouTube and found a good soul who explained it in details. But not the Midi part, as it was v. 1. As some people wrore, it could be enhanced, but it sure will be, as M. Tyson (audiobus, Loopy HD) does never work superficially. And by the way, I am eagerly waiting his next creation, Loopy Masterpiece. Update: thanks, Michael, now I know there is a manual, that we can use Midi in a very advanced way, and more. The app displays a toyish design, but it’s far from being a toy! (Although it’s absolutely fun to work with it....) **Developer response:** Thanks very much! Zuerst auf dem Commodore 64, dann Amiga 500 und zuletzt PC und Apple Macbook Pro. Jetzt arbeite ich mit Korg Gadget 2 und Beatmaker 3 auf dem Ipad. Dieser Sequencer ist in seiner durchdachten Einfachheit genial. Ohne technische Vorkenntnisse und nur nach ein paar Minuten in den Workflow einfühlen hat jeder sofort Freude am komponieren. Das Prinzip ist das gleiche wie bei den großen Brüdern - nur die Einarbeitung hier unvergleichbar kürzer. Durch das spontane Beatboxen eigener Samples entsteht eine Freude wie zu den Modtracker Zeiten. It’s my go to sampler on my iPhone and the very good sequencer is a total bonus. Appreciate the midi control as well! One thing I would love to see in a future update would be a few more effects beyond pitch and speed, like maybe an applicable bitcrusher, reverb and delay to any assigned sample and/or drum parts. That’d make it a classic imo. ### 5/5 — Macht Spaß! *2018-07-28* Tolle App die sehr viel Spaß macht. Gut durchdachter Workflow. Hält man den Finger lange auf einem sample wird es auch nur so lange der Finger drauf ist abgespielt. Tippt man kurz auf das sample wird es bis zum Ende gespielt. Samples können getrimmt, gepitcht und die Geschwindigkeit kann geändert werden. Man kann die App als Audiobus Output nutzen und so sich ein Kit aus anderen iOS synths, drummachines basteln. 👌🏼 Was mir aber noch fehlt... 😄 Toll wäre wenn man den playhead beim sample schneiden frei bewegen könnte. Das macht gerade bei langen samples Sinn. Und samples bis -64 und +64 pitchen zu können wäre super! Egal wie „dreckig“ das sample dann klingt, das macht ja den Charme von samplern aus.
