Hier ist Geduld und Ausdauer angesagt. Anfänglich wirkt es so als wenn das Restoring der In-Apps gar nicht funktioniert und nach einer erneuten Installation von Sampletank (Neustart des iPads nicht vergessen!) wird endlich mit dem Laden der In-Apps gestartet. Hier sieht es nun so aus, als wenn sich nach ca. der Hälfte der Re-Installation der Soundsets (z.B. Sonik Synth) nichts mehr tut. der Schein trügt jedoch. Nach einer absurd langen Wartezeit und einem Neustart nach jedem abgeschlossenen Ladevorgang einer In-App (teilweise dauert es bis zu 45 min und mehr), sind nun letztendlich wieder alle früher mal dazugekauften Soundsets wieder am Start. ### 2/5 — Outdated/Unusable in 2026 *2026-07-12, version 2.0.13* I’ve used this app for several years now on an iPad 6 for live music performance. It served its purpose pretty well. However, that iPad is finally starting to give up the ghost, so I majorly upgraded recently to an iPad Air M4. SampleTank is simply unusable on modern Apple silicon. Research this online and you’ll find many complaints about it. SampleTank utilizes InterAppAudio which has been phased out, and they haven’t updated the app to be workable with modern hardware. It was good while it lasted, but I’d advise doing your homework and looking elsewhere if you have any M# chip device or more recent iOS software updates. ### 1/5 — Noncompliant MIDI Support makes it basically unusable *2026-04-21, version 2.0.13* it does not have AUV3 plugin support. This means you can't really use it in GarageBand or any DAW as a plugin. I'm frankly surprised by that. AUV3 plugin is 11 years old now. and essentially the whole audio app ecosystem for iOS/iPadOS revolves around AUV3 plugin support. Its MIDI support is noncompliant. There is no means to view or select virtual ports. It does not support pitch bend range for individual voices in live mode. And it does not support the standard medical command for pitchman range, which is RPN 0. It claims to support Audiobus. The basis of audiobus is inter app audio (IAA) and AUV3. Apple deprecated IAA in 2019 seven years ago. For developers who released apps to the App Store frequently we are required to link to the latest SDK and IAA no longer works in the latest. At the time in 2019 Apple said: IAA is deprecated. It may not work with future releases developers should use audio units AUV3 for this functionality moving forward. ### 1/5 — Update or fade away.. *2026-03-07* App no longer works with M4 iPad. ### 3/5 — Please make everything free! *2026-02-28, version 2.0.13* Can you please make every single sound and every single sound pack in the entire app free to purchase and use? Don’t waste your money on their apps!!!! 😡 I can’t believe till now, IK Multimedia has not responded to this review. This is one disappointing piece of overpriced and underperforming music apps on iOS. It constantly crashes even on an M2 iPad. It’s a shame IK Multimedia have neglected updating and maintaining of what was once the only decent orchestral app, when it was released. It crashes about one minute into playing. I hope IK Multimedia addresses and fixes the crashing problem, especially when using the American Guitar pack. Thanks ### 5/5 — Eine tolle App - Danke IK Multimedia! *2025-05-09* Seit vielen Jahren setze ich diese App ein, sie hat schon drei Generationen von IPads bei mir gesehen und hunderte Gigs. Über MIDI angesteuert hatte ich quasi nie Stabilitätsprobleme, die E-Bass Samples die ich damit spiele klingen toll, es gibt bis heute keine bessere für das IPad. Sie läuft brav und solide im Hintergrund, eine Bank. Und jetzt, 6,5 Jahre nach dem letzten Update (!) kam tatsächlich und unerwartet ein neues Update. Bin sehr happy, es kann weitergehen. Eine AuV3 Veraion wäre noch ein Träumchen bevor Apple irgendwann Inter App Audio beendet und dann noch ein paar frische Sounds. Wish devs would invest more time in updates this year and make it Auv3. Would be nice to have all the sounds like i have with the desktop version. Desktop accounts should be allowed to have all the sounds on the mobile version since we invest so much money in this product. Its time to be able to use these sounds in Cubasis and Logic Pro for ipad. Dont throw away this awesome apps updates and expansions. I love the drum pads and the intuitive placement and operation of the quantize, metronome and loops features, among many others. The sounds that come with it are stellar. Sample tank has been updated so many times since then. How is anyone trying to get an idea if the app is worth getting when they read old reviews that are not relevant. Come on apple, you are doing well enough to have a proper rating system. Ratings are for customers and developers. It's not to show ratings out of date since several years. It's absurd. Sampletank is great. I read a bad review complaining about having to update his iPad. Hey buddy. The price of this app is almost free for what you get. Instead of using outdated iPads and apps like this, go buy all the hardware necessary to make a fraction of these sounds and then complain again about upgrade prices. You are working with electronic music. If you don't want to upgrade ever then stop updating your apps. You want it all for free, even the huge improvements in technology. Good luck in life trying to live only on freebies. I get so annoyed at complaints about having to spend money. Try to develop apps and tell me it should be free forever including updates and all apps should work on every old device no matter the improvements. Thinking is required in life.
