## What is Samsung Magician?

Software that’s so powerful you‘ll wonder if it’s… magic. Quickly and easily manage your Samsung Portable SSDs through Samsung Magician.

[App Features]
With Samsung Magician, you can,
- Access real-time information of your drive anytime, anywhere and keep your drive's health in check.
- Unlock the performance that only comes from genuine Samsung memory products by verifying them through remarkably simple steps.
- Inspect the health of your drive and detect failures before they happen using S.M.A.R.T check.
- Supercharge the security of your drive with an easy fingerprint and password setup.
- Receive timely reminders for important updates so as to update the firmware of your drive.

[App requirements]
- Supports only devices running iPadOS [Requires iPadOS 16.0 or later].
- Exclusively available only on iPads equipped with an M-series chip.
- To know whether your iPad is supported, visit https://developer.apple.com/support/required-device-capabilities and select "driverkit" under "Choose a capability"
- The app requires Samsung Magician Driver to be enabled. Follow the in-app guide or manually go to the app's settings page to turn it on.

[Troubleshooting]
[Known Issue - Toggle to enable/disable Samsung Magician Driver does not appear in App Settings]
We are aware of an issue where the toggle to enable Samsung Magician Driver may occasionally not appear in the app's Settings page on some iPadOS versions. The driver enable/disable option is provided and managed by iPadOS, and is not controlled by the app. We have reported this behaviour and are investigating into this issue. A potential fix will be identified and released in a future version of the app, where applicable. Meanwhile, here are a few steps you can try currently to restore this option:

a. Check and try whether the toggle appears and manually updating it from these locations - On older versions of iPadOS, the option to enable Samsung Magician driver can be found under Settings > Samsung Magician > Drivers. On newer versions, this option is located under Settings > Apps > Samsung Magician.
b. Try updating your version of iPadOS or reinstall Samsung Magician and follow the steps again

[Known Limitation - P-Series Portable SSD detection over USB4]
Samsung Magician v9.0.2 currently supports Samsung P-Series Portable SSD devices over USB3 only. These devices can be detected on iPad models with USB-C ports using either USB-C or USB-4 compatible cables. However, on iPad models with USB4 ports, the device may not be detected when connected using a USB4 cable and so it is advised to use a USB-C cable for the same.
USB4 support will be added in a future version of the app.

## Key features

- Real-time drive information

### 1/5 — Does NOT support Samsung T5 and T3 drives

*2026-02-16*

What is the point of Samsung’s drive utility which does not work with Samsung drives? Neither T5 nor T3 portable SSD drives are supported. Useless…

### 1/5 — The biggest issue is still not fixed in Version 9.0.0

*2025-12-20, version 9.0.0*

Even after 1 year of this app’s launch, the developer hasn’t fixed the biggest issue in Version 9.0.0 and that’s a shame. ‘Samsung Magician Driver’ option in the settings disappears after every use. We need to restart iPad or uninstall and reinstall the app to make it appear again. Please fix the issue ASAP.

Update - As you asked, my iPad is running iPadOS 18.7.3. But I have been facing this issue from the time the app was launched. And at that time my iPad was on iPadOS 17. Just see other reviews here. Everyone is complaining about the same thing.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-12-10, version 9.0.0*

Damn, seriously? The option to read the driver in the settings disappears and I have to reinstall the app to get the option, really? Samsung that huge can’t fix such a small issue…

### 1/5 — Samsung wake up

*2025-12-05, version 9.0.0*

Doesn t work w/ iOS 26.

### 1/5 — This app needs an update

*2025-11-21, version 8.3.0*

This app doesn’t work on iPad iOS26, it used to work perfectly with previous versions and now disappointed…

### 1/5 — Issue

*2025-09-25, version 8.3.0*

Drive banner over settings are not stable. After single use it’s not working. Need to reinstall to get the option. Any fix for this

### 1/5 — Driver option not showing

*2025-09-01, version 8.3.0*

I have T7 shield
When I connect it with my Ipad Pro M4
The App shows to toggle on the Driver option but It does not shows that option in settings
I have to Reinstall the app every to just get that option

### 4/5 — Works as intended

*2025-03-24, version 8.2.0*

The app works as described.
1 star less because the link to the app settings in the system settings does not lead to the app settings as described, just to the apps overview in the system settings, this may confuse inexperienced user and lead to the conclusion that the driver slider does not exist.

Tipp: in the system settings search for the Samsung magician app and you fill find the driver slider.

### 2/5 — Enable feature disappears

*2024-12-13, version 8.2.0*

The enable/disable feature keeps disappearing when I go to use the app. I have to remove the app, the reload it from the App Store. Very time consuming.

### 1/5 — not support for iPad mini7

*2024-11-19*

怎么不支持ipad mini7
