### 1/5 — Doesn’t work, and harvests data

This app claims to allow scanning of water filters to confirm as official. App not developed by Samsung, and doesn’t allow reporting of counterfeit filters despite directing the user to press the “Report” button. There is only one screen in the app, and no “Report” button exists. App requires user to enable location services to scan a simple 2d barcode, which is unnecessary data extraction. App should be removed from App Store as non—functional and data-harvesting.

I installed it on an iPhone 13 and tried to scan but it didn’t work. Re-tried multiple times. It gives you an option to rescan but nothing else - no messages or anything else

The app won’t focus on iPhone 17.  There is not a way to change which camera the app uses, so it won’t focus.  Therefore the app does not work with my phone. In addition, there is no Report button to use as instructed.

I definitely have an authentic Samsung filter (expensive!), but the app won’t scan no matter how many times I tried it!  I’m only trying to get instructions on how to install!

Why do you need my location data for this? The magnetic bars were fine. This app exists solely to mine data under the guise of ensuring filter quality.

The scanning app is also awful. It does not scan well. Also, to save proof of authenticity, you need to give permission to access your photo library.

It simply doesn’t work. The requirements are too rigid and it demands access to your cameras photo library instead of using the phone’s camera in-app, as it is meant to do. It’s beyond worthless and a complete waste of time and energy. It actually deserves a negative stars rating, but one star is the lowest that Apple will allow.

The scanner doesn’t even work. I thought it was just me, but it seems that most of the commenters are saying the same thing. Also, why the hell did they package their water filter with so much plastic that’s almost impossible to open? I nearly sliced my hand because of how much cutting I had to go through with scissors just to get the water filter. What are they doing as a company?

Won’t scan. The scan times out and says that I can hit a button to report counterfeit filter. The only problem is, if such a button exists, there isn’t any way for me to get to that screen. The ONLY option is to rescan. Honestly, is it really that hard to test an app before putting it up on the app store.
