## What is Samurai Mindfulness?

I used to be the kind of person who would replay a single comment in my head all day long.

Someone says something in the morning -- maybe they didn't mean anything by it -- but I'd carry that weight until midnight. Replaying it over and over, ruining my entire day. I knew I was overthinking, but the feeling just wouldn't go away.

Then I discovered a simple technique: write down what's bothering you on paper, and tear it up.

I tried it -- and for the first time, the weight just lifted. The thing I'd been dragging around all day was suddenly gone. That's when I decided to turn this experience into an app.


BACKED BY SCIENCE

A 2024 study by Nagoya University (published in Scientific Reports) proved that writing down feelings of anger and physically discarding the paper -- by throwing it away or shredding it -- nearly eliminated the anger entirely. Research from Ohio State University also confirmed that physically discarding written negative thoughts significantly reduces their psychological impact.
