It's pretty frustrating to spend two 4-hour flights working through modules and then see none of that recorded in the browser portal. Downloading the videos is great, and so is the access to the course mp3s.... but your progress doesn't sync..... ### 2/5 — Meh *2025-02-13* It does what it’s supposed to be but for the price of a SANS course, I would expect more. Improvement suggestions are better tracking of where user last was , fix buggy video tracking (it takes 30 finger swipes to get the video rewind to work), and continue playing after rewinding video. ### 2/5 — Lots of opportunity for improvement *2024-06-02* 1) Takes some work on the IPad to get the screen to rotate on its side. 2) Should have the PDF available through the app as well and the audio in case someone wants to listen on their commute. 3) PDF should have a PDF text-2-speech, where it ignores the head/footer and watermarks. Also so you can have the course read to you during your commute. 4) Sometimes just crashes with no error messages. ### 2/5 — Buggy, randomly stops doing landscape *2024-02-11* I like the idea of course material on m hi pad, but the app is just not mature enough, is glitchy, doesn’t sync my progress well and randomly stops doing landscape. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2023-12-11, version 1.16.77* Orientation issues and quirks on the iPad make the app a frustrating mess to use. These issues seem to have persisted for a year or more (I’m writing in December of 2023) ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2023-10-26* After starting an OnDemand course and struggling to find time at work or after hours to study, I found the app which would allow me to study while on the road or travel. It worked great for the first two weeks, then it became useless and stated my account did not have any OnDemand course. I’ve logged out and back in multiple times and it still cannot access my OnDemand courses. For my situation not being able to reliably download the content, and have it stay downloaded, means the app is near worthless to me. ### 2/5 — Does not rotate out of portrait on IPad Air *2023-06-12, version 1.16.44* You pay £1000s for a SANS course and they can’t even make an app that can be viewed in landscape mode. Just weak SANS weak ### 1/5 — Doesn’t properly mark videos as done, no PIP *2023-06-02* Disappointed with the very laggy and unintuitive video player. There is no picture in picture option, and the modules automatically mark themselves as done the minute they are viewed. There is no option to manually control this or mark them to review later. It just spins without end. Doesn’t matter if I’m connected to WIFI or not, same result. Audio issues abound, loading delays. It’s disappointing I won’t be able to listen while traveling. I see why this app has low ratings now… ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2025-04-02* I am extremely disappointed this app doesn't seem to properly open or load the two training courses I've paid thousands for. I'd like to have used this while driving for work, and I know it worked 4 years ago. Something is going on and I hope they'll fix this bug soon- my phone and app are both up to date with the latest. Tried reinstalling and rebooting my phone too. Checking with customer service now to see if they can make a difference. Then I close the app for a little bit. Now all my course videos need to be downloaded again. What??? Can’t ever get the app to stay in landscape mode because of poor coding with the gyroscope. Trying to force landscape mode with orientation lock is a no-go as well, as the app only locks into portrait mode when orientation lock is enable. This app has been like this for ages and apparently, no developers have felt the need to fix these things. Helps with retaining info and being better prepared for the exam. ### 5/5 — The gold standard *2025-12-05* I must say, I have experience with different platforms, from Canvas platforms for college to military education platforms, educational and primary education resources, and CTE and other providers. So far, I feel like this platform has given me something far beyond what any other platform has. Most importantly, the material and how it is structured leave no room for confusion—there’s no way to go around trying to figure out what to do, where to go, or how to proceed. Everything is structured in such a way that it’s like a waterfall, so you can easily follow along. You can download the videos from the app on your phone if you don’t have internet, and you can always watch them. The material aligns with the books and with everything you’re doing in the live, hands-on portions. I gotta say, this is the best platform I’ve used so far, and as I integrate this into my first SANDS course, I feel like it’s really setting a new standard. ### 5/5 — Great Resource *2025-06-29* Well-designed and awesome for on-the-go learning. The app is great for firing up course material while you are away from your desk, walking the dog, etc. Tablet mode was a nice add for my iPad, makes it easy to take notes. Overall solid app. Would love to see CarPlay improvements (it works but not the smoothest). It’s been great for the Bachelors program I am going through. I’ve used this app to study 4 of the courses so far, and it’s done everything I could ask for.
