## What is Sanskrit Lexicon?

Sanskrit Lexicon is a Sanskrit-English dictionary for readers who want a clear answer without giving up the original scholarship.

Search 250,000+ Sanskrit headwords across 12 classical dictionaries and 9 specialist indexes. Each result begins with a
plain-English definition and keeps the complete source text one tap away, organized by meaning instead of scattered across
separate references.

UNDERSTAND FIRST. STUDY DEEPLY.

• Start with a readable Simplified definition.
• Switch any card to Scholar view for the original dictionary text, notation, page references, and source links.
• See different senses grouped into clear contexts, with the most common sense first.

SEARCH THE WAY YOU TYPE

• Use Devanagari, IAST, Harvard-Kyoto, Velthuis, WX, SLP1, or plain ASCII.
• Type “krishna” to find kṛṣṇa; no diacritics or special keyboard required.
• Paste an inflected noun or verb to find its root and grammatical analysis.
• Explore noun declension tables without leaving the word.

BUILT INTO YOUR APPLE DEVICES

• Ask Siri to look up a word, read today’s word, or open a saved word.
• Add Look Up, Word of the Day, and Open Word actions in Shortcuts.
• Find favorites, recent words, and phrases from personal notes in Spotlight.
• Put the Word of the Day widget on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
• Continue reading across devices with iCloud sync and Handoff.

MAKE SANSKRIT A DAILY PRACTICE

Discover a hand-curated Word of the Day that changes at midnight, stays consistent across your devices, and does not repeat.
Save favorites, keep personal notes, and return to recent words whenever you need them.

FOR READERS AT EVERY DEPTH

Use Sanskrit Lexicon for university study, textual research, yoga, Ayurveda, Vedānta, Buddhist studies, historical linguistics, or the

### 5/5 — Looks very promising…

*2025-08-13*

I contacted the developer. They will fix the “free” or limited use mode on the next release. The output is super well organized and lookups are very intuitive.

### 5/5 — Looks very promising…

*2025-08-10*

I can’t find a way to contact the developer for support. I haven’t purchased monthly unlimited access since I just wanted to test drive first. It seems that you can only use it the first day. After that it counts each character entered as a search, so one cannot type in a whole word. Oh well back to hard copy.
