I don’t understand

I thought I would be able to make my own palettes and adjust the shades. Or maybe I could choose a color and I would see what colors work best with it. But it’s all so random. A dark purple paired with a bright red, lime green, navy blue, and butter yellow? It doesn’t make sense. These are not colors you’d typically use together in your home or an art project. There is no option to swap out colors in the palettes and no option to add a singular color to the favorites folder?

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for giving Sanzo Color Palettes a try! We understand your desire for more customization and the ability to create or adjust your own palettes. Our app is designed as a digital collection of color palettes curated from the classic books A Dictionary of Color Combinations Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 by Sanzo Wada. These palettes reflect a wide range of color harmonies—some traditional, some unexpected—just as they appear in the original works. While some combinations may seem unconventional, they are part of a rich history of color exploration and have inspired artists and designers for decades. The app aims to provide access to this unique resource, offering hundreds of palettes and nearly every color featured in the books. We appreciate your suggestions about customizing palettes and favoriting individual colors. These are great ideas, and we’re always looking for ways to improve the app and make it more useful for our users. Your feedback will be considered for future updates. Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for being part of our creative community!

5 Stars but I wouldn’t buy it again

It absolutely deserves 5 stars. It is what it says it is and there’s nothing uncomfortable in the app. The thing is you can get the contents of the app for free in some very nice web apps. I like the dev and am happy I supported them, but for consumers that think they’d get something out of this app they otherwise wouldn‘t I have to say, you do not.
Nonetheless I believe in the dev and am happy to see where they go from here!

Great tool for designers and illustrators

I sometimes struggle finding the right colour scheme for my illustrations and this app has come in super handy with some gorgeous palettes and shades. I’m also using it to save my favourite combinations and quickly refer to them when needed, love it! 🧑‍🎨🎨

Please add smaller square widget options

I primarily downloaded the app as an interesting aesthetic accessory for the Home Screen widget, but I’d rather it not take up the majority of the screen. The actual app is simple and pleasant as a creative reference, tho it’s usefulness to me longterm as an app to keep nestled away on the phone likely has a short shelf life aside from that aesthetic. Please, consider a future plethora of varied widget options

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback and review. We are working on the new version and will definitely have more options for the widget and also more useful (we think) options in the app. Please feel free to send us any suggestions.
