### 3/5 — UPNP never available, poor speeds and constant connectivity issues

*2024-11-23, version v2.1.00*

Good day,

I use your service because I am deployed, the wifi has several days where i cant do the things i need for college because a 10 minute video can take hours to load, can’t game with my wife and kids because universal plug n play (UPNP) NAT Type is always strict. It has taken me 3 days to download a 11GB game with my xbox constantly running because the speeds are so slow or like tonight my signal wont stay stable enough to make progress on the download.
The weather has been consistently clear skies here, being here in the desert not many rain storms occur. It is getting colder which I understand does impact Wi-Fi signal but last time I was here I had none of these issues.
Perhaps a firmware update is needed?

Any recommendations to resolve my issues would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,

Andrew

### 3/5 — Needs an Update

*2024-08-24, version v2.1.00*

Sapphire works well with my Sapphire 3. But i feel like its lacking in some areas. Competitor’s pucks offer software/hardware updates via their respective apps. Where as sapphire does not. The device goes in and out a lot even in well covered areas for service.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2024-03-09, version v2.1.00*

Have used all over Europe. It is very pricy. However much more secure than any free WiFi. I have to work some. Spotty in rural areas. But that is stated when purchasing.

### 4/5 — Good service, user friendly

*2023-05-05, version v2.1.00*

The service works well enough, and is cheaper than an international plan. I’m able to talk to my family, and access the internet. The connection is somewhat slow, and I drop calls from time to time (even in a static environment). Video calling is nothing short of frustrating, but that could just be my location. I’d recommend it for military personnel on short tours, and persons who infrequently travel internationally.

The app is great as far as usability, however, my only complaint is I wish they would add an option to send you push notifications when the data is low.

### 2/5 — Internet is good but

*2023-02-18, version v2.1.00*

So I just got this internet Puck for my time at Ali Al Salem yesterday. WiFi is pretty good now and I’m enjoying it. But let’s say I want to change plans or even cancel it, the site doesn’t show my profile nor give me an option to cancel it not even the app shows me where to cancel my plan or start a new one. So idk if I have to go back to the store and make a new plan or cancel it. But weird cuz the guy said I can do it from my phone and I don’t know where. So I felt like I got scammed into a plan that I have to stick with

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2022-11-24, version v2.1.00*

The service is garbage for Poland. Don’t waste your money.

### 2/5 — App is hard to use

*2022-11-20, version v2.1.00*

This app leaves a lot to be desired. Can’t set up payment unless you use PayPal, which I do not use. Cannot change password and it wants you to enter your ID. Why? It doesn’t support OTP. Really sorry I bought the device. The app is terrible.

### 1/5 — App needs updating

*2022-09-25, version v2.1.00*

The App continually crashes at the point of payment. Therefore payment does f go through. It’s relationship /link with PayPal is not good, crashes continuously.

You also need other methods of payment, not just PayPal.

### 1/5 — Poor/sport Service and WAY Overpriced

*2022-09-09, version v2.1.00*

They don’t have an unlimited plan, if you don’t use all the data you already paid for within the set time frame you loose it. It’s basically a money grab because they know they have a guaranteed customer base, especially within the military community when our options for internet are slim. If I had other options I would take my money elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Horrendous wifi, App is decent

*2022-08-17, version v2.1.00*

The app itself isn’t the issue, the issue is that for ME no matter what I do from 10am - 3 pm it’s total black out on wifi for me and from 10pm - 3am.. it’s the same. Anyone and everyone else I ask says they have no issues at all with their wifi or sapphire at all. If I had literally no other choice but to use this trash I would 100000% get the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on this overpriced trash.

-10/10 puck is not worth its weight in the plastic it’s made of
6/10 app for screwing up whenever I try to pay with PayPal

Overall if you have already purchased a sapphire puck get your money back. It’s not worth the headache in my honest opinion. But who knows, you might have a much better experience than myself.

### 1/5 — WiFi

*2022-07-25, version v2.1.00*

I bought this because it was the only thing available in the area. I needed service and I needed connection. The desire for either aside I had a genuine need. Being unable to pay important bills while on travel and checking on family with medical needs is a terrifying thing, so I paid what most would think too expensive and bought the device and a plan. Spending almost 200 dollars I figured, you get what you pay for.
I have heard the excuses and to some it may make sense, when so many people are the same area using the same type of device or the same satellite it will be “slow”. When I have to watch as my phone continues to say no service, and my family believes that I have just stopped talking to them, or when companies believe I am avoiding them and my obligations, then I have to say:
“What am I paying for?” Because it’s not service and why tell someone you can give them what you can’t if there’s a limit to how many people per region that can have service at a time. Stop selling the device or your “service” if you aren’t going to serve.

### 1/5 — Too expensive barely usable

*2022-04-22, version v2.1.00*

Far too expensive and internet speeds are just too slow. Speeds were barely ok across the US and Europe. It was totally unusable in Afghanistan and Kuwait. Between background apps and constantly refreshing unloaded pages, your data gets used up quickly. Better off with something else with better plans and connectivity.

### 1/5 — Sapphire touch T2

*2022-01-24, version v2.1.00*

Customer Support
Would like to speak with agent and regards to the data certificate and the owner ship platform and or the owner ships in which to context the use and or data of the sapphire touch and which one owns

### 1/5 — Sapphire gone wrong

*2021-08-10, version v2.1.00*

I would like to first start by saying this app has a lot of potential, but the price you pay and the internet speed you get with the puck is absurd. For the past four days, I have barely even been able to send a message. WAIST OF YOUR MONEY! Do not buy or pay any money for this garbage.

### 3/5 — App support

*2021-08-01, version v2.1.00*

It’s decent for what you get, but the app definitely need some updates to keep up with apples never ending ones. takes way to long to show the device in the app, but when it does it’s very convenient to check the battery life and cell signal strength you have.

### 1/5 — Worst scam ever

*2021-07-05, version v2.1.00*

This internet provider is the absolute worst ever! I’m aware different locations have different speeds etc. but it’s the most unstable internet ever! And you contact customer service and they say they fix the network but they didn’t. And regardless if your connection is good enough to maintain a connection to website or app, your data just keeps chipping away. I documented this and sent to customer service! They won’t credit anything back nor allow refunds for a product that DOES NOT WORK! if you can avoid it, don’t purchase with this company! I’ve asked to talk to managers on over 15 occasions! Not ONCE has that been granted! DO NOT RECOMMEND

### 3/5 — At least customer service messages you right away

*2021-06-19, version v2.1.00*

Sapphire worked only slightly better than the free WiFi provided by location. For the quality of internet that Sapphire provides, it’s WAAAY too expensive. Perhaps Sapphire’s internet access is better in other areas; hence 3 stars. I had continuous connection problems at my location. Several times there were outages.
However, their customer service response, and want to help is on par. The price should drop the stars down to one star rating.
- Internet Quality... eh... can only judge off one country.
- Cost... terrible
- Customer service... clearly doing their best

### 1/5 — Trash

*2021-05-15, version v2.1.00*

Sapphire is a scam. Only works in Kuwait any other country even America is stupid expensive and slow. Can’t even load your email slow. Steer clear of sapphire if your not in Kuwait .

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2021-05-14, version v2.1.00*

A blind one-armed lobotomized chimpanzee on horse tranquilizers could craft a more user friendly interface than this. Don’t waste your time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2025-09-17, version v2.1.00*

Got this because I’m always on the move over here in Europe and I believe I got completely scammed I bought GB and had access to the WiFi for about a day and didn’t work after that I even went out of my way and tried connecting in several different places were I knew my regular data would work and this thing just wouldn’t connect it wouldn’t even pop up on my phone

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2025-07-28, version v2.1.00*

I paid $300 for the device, and an additional $90 for service, only for the service to stop entirely a few days after use. Factory resets do nothing, customer service does nothing. Garbage service.

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2025-05-01, version v2.1.00*

Don’t do it, find another WiFi provider. I have used Sapphire for a decade with good results, except the last two years have been ridiculous. No signal connections, poor connection to iPhone when I can even get it to connect to my phone! Has failed in Portugal, Spain and now in Vietnam. This is a ridiculous brick that just sucked the last 90 bucks out of my wallet.

### 1/5 — Can’t ever use the app

*2025-04-10, version v2.1.00*

The second I get on this app it freezes every time I’ve done everything to try and fix this and it never works.

### 1/5 — RIP OFF

*2024-10-31, version v2.1.00*

Huge rip off 😡DO NOT buy into to this total scam‼️They are exactly like every other time share… a total joke.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work now - after only two uses

*2024-05-17, version v2.1.00*

Sadly I invested in a sapphire device (- not inexpensive!). First impressions were good, went to Egypt and it helped keep communications well. New York and it was fine, avoiding the need to jump on multiple different WiFi sources.
Then it stopped working. Support was given but uninspiring and it took a while to get any traction with the support team of any substance. Sadly an expensive device then became a black brick which was effectively unsupported by the sapphire team…. No efforts made to try to help other than switch on and off and the factory reset (many times).
Now I can’t trust the device so I don’t take it travelling but use it as a paperweight. It may be great for other people but I can only go on my experience.
Expensive mistake - caveat emptor. Using eSIMs now.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2023-11-29, version v2.1.00*

Absolutely worthless company and products. The sapphire three won’t connect to the internet no matter if you get the SIM card or buy a plan. Support doesn’t know what they’re talking about, and their sales clerks are definitely paid commission and will lie to make the sale.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2023-10-24, version v2.1.00*

Trash overpriced wifi doesn’t work for anything more than texting. In Germany too. Wasted $30 on it don’t do the same

### 1/5 — Buyer beware

*2023-05-07, version v2.1.00*

Poor quality reception when used in LA. Bought a 2GB plan that was depleted in 2 hours with only checking email a free WhatsApp messages. Would never purchase again.

### 1/5 — Bad puck

*2022-11-27, version v2.1.00*

The pucks by sapphire drains battery even if you’re not using data. That means if it accidentally press against something in your bag it will turn on and stay on until it dies without you even using your data.

Oh, the data is expensive and it expires

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It WORKS!! Be patient the first time syncing.

*2021-07-15, version v2.1.00*

I needed 3 weeks of wifi traveling around Europe (Greece islands to start, then Austria, then England). Didn’t want to buy 3 separate regional plans. Didnt want to get a plan with a SIM card and risk running out of data because I had just started a new job and was planning to work remote and couldn’t risk being without data so I was basically banking my new job on this little device working because I didn’t take PTO for this trip. It has been amazing. When I first turned it on I had a few minutes of panic because it takes a couple minutes to calibrate even once you’ve got the plan set yo through the app. Be patient. Give it 5-10 mins and you will have a super fast internet connection at your fingertips.

### 5/5 — Great

*2020-10-29, version v2.1.00*

Recently bought the T2 and it helped with all my traveling needs...thing is a lifesaver.

### 5/5 — Great Product

*2020-08-20, version 2.0.05*

I am an active duty service member and this is the best device for deployments for school or just to pass time for media. I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Read this if you are a solider!!

*2020-08-13, version 2.0.05*

Current date of me writing this August 13th,2020. First off if you are in Kuwait DO NOT BUY THIS. Wait until you go to Afghanistan, once you’re there find a PX and purchase it there. Some people make the huge mistake of buying it in Kuwait and the device not working in Afghanistan. I’m in Jalalabad and I’ve seen 4 of my guys purchase this in Kuwait when the first got over here in March, which it worked great in Kuwait but not in Afghanistan. The reason for that is the Sapphire stores in Kuwait program them for Kuwait and not Afghanistan meaning the cell service which converts the 4G to WiFi is different. Both the touch screen puck and the black puck work fine in Afghanistan and for the most part is much better than local WiFi. Though the devices are expensive, the WiFi is much faster than travel WiFi, DHI, etc. Another option you should look into is getting a ROSHAN SIM card. But only if you have an unlocked phone that isn’t tethered to a carrier. Those work really well out here too. Hope this helps!!

### 5/5 — A must buy for travelers

*2020-07-14, version 2.0.3*

Great puck, very convenient for my deployment

### 5/5 — Review

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-04-17, version 2.0.3*

Works great with the Sapphire. Can control my data plans and usage from here.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-03-31, version 2.0.3*

Amazing!

### 5/5 — Flexible plans for travel

*2019-12-09, version 2.0.01*

Really works well for me. Buy plans when and as I need them. 👍
