I give this a 3 star rating because the sensor works with Rouvy… wished this could be different. ### 1/5 — Unable to connect - brand new H3 *2022-08-15, version 2.0.43* I have a brand new H3, and despite repeated attempts I have been unable to connect the device with the Saris app. I get a “Couldn’t connect to app. Make sure it is on and blinking green”. It is on and blinking green, and the Check Device Setup works without a problem. Very disappointing. Mobile is an iPhone 13. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect to Bluetooth *2022-07-14, version 2.0.43* Restarted and restarted, tried different phones and iPads but just won’t connect to Bluetooth. Interestingly, when doing the ‘Check Device Setup’ the trainer does ever so briefly blink blue but that’s where it ends. Would be a little easier to understand if it was 3rd party software. Now what? Forced to buy an ANT dongle and all. Not a happy customer and bad news travels fast Saris… ### 1/5 — Terrible UI *2022-03-03, version 2.0.43* A smart trainer that costs $1,000 yet an app that looks like a middle school intern made it. you seriously need to get on Wahoos level of interface design. This app is basic and clunky. ### 1/5 — Current version no longer supports CycleOps Powerbeam smart trainers *2021-12-27, version 2.0.43* Some time in the last year Saris’s app stopped supporting the Cycleops Powerbeam Pro smart trainer. Owners can no longer calibrate their trainers for Zwift or RGT. Can’t use the trainer. So frustrating!!!! ### 1/5 — Not again! *2021-12-07* Just installed the latest firmware and recalibrated my Hammer2 5 times and still watts are way too low when peddling with hard effort. Not the first time this has happened and makes me regret buying a Hammer from Cycleops. Thinking of just giving in and buying a Wahoo Kickr to avoid all this frustration, including ERG mode shutting off my trainer in workouts by putting it in sleep mode. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear about your frustrations. When you do a target power workout in the Saris Utility, your trainer should never go into sleep mode. If you continue to have issues with this, shoot us an email at developer@saris.com and we can analyze your trainer remotely. ### 4/5 — Quirky Power Adjustment *2021-10-19, version 2.0.33* I can’t be the only one a little annoyed with the slide bar. Why is (+10) on the decrease-the-power end and (-10) on the increase-the-power end of the “slide bar”. It’s bass-awkwards. Plus it’s not really a slide bar. While it looks like one could put their finger on the button and side it (as the name implies), a person can’t actually do that. So, it’s not actually a slide bar, it’s just a status bar. Which again, runs backwards in relation to the plus and minus buttons. Also, why not more presets in increments of 50 in two columns instead of one-hundred watts going completely across the screen? Such as: 50 | 75 100 | 150 200 | 250 300 | 350 400 | 450 Then you will have a well functioning, end-user oriented, intuitive app. But those are just the options of someone with a visual communication degree. :) ### 1/5 — problem *2021-09-17, version 2.0.15* problem for connecting and no help from Saris!!?? ### 3/5 — Moi options *2021-09-01, version 1.1.75* Add a timer if possible For new people it hard to setup and get going ### 4/5 — Does what you need, works well, but could be improved *2021-08-07, version 1.1.75* Overall, the app does what you need. Calibrates and performs basic erg mode control of your trainer. The UI is functional, but not pretty. Some ability to co trim the erg mode settings for when you need to would be nice. I would love to be able to set buttons for 350, 275w etc beyond just using the built in numbers and +/- 10w. ### 1/5 — Total waste of time. *2021-07-28, version 1.1.75* Bluetooth just won’t connect. I turned everything off and on a number of times. The troubleshooting page said everything was good, everything had little black ticks. Still wouldn’t connect. Combined with my Saris M2 trainer yellow knob not “clicking” as advertised when you tighten it against the tyre there is no doubt that I won’t be buying Saris again. Saris need to have a really good look at their products. Murray. ### 1/5 — Cycle ops hammer *2021-06-24, version 1.1.75* Gave 1 star I am able to connect via Bluetooth resistance doesn’t change in saris app when using erg mode When on Zwift fully connected but no resistance when going up hill Saris customer help now will not return my messages, very disappointed ### 1/5 — If only the Bluetooth worked *2021-06-17, version 1.1.75* The trainer itself is a good piece of kit but the Saris app is terrible. It connected to the trainer the first day and has not been able to connect since then. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, turned off every Bluetooth device except the trainer, restarted my phone and iPad and still nothing allows it to connect. Surely the manufacturer of the trainer could make an app that connects to their own equipment. ### 2/5 — Dropouts *2021-04-11, version 1.1.75* Constantly dropping connection on Zwift. Paid too much money for this kind of issue. Very disappointed. ### 4/5 — Lag time in resistance. *2021-03-27, version 1.1.61* There seems to be notable lag time between when a resistance increase occurs and when it should occur. I also observe what appear to be incorrect resistance levels, completely out of synchronization with Zwift. I’ll try to calibrate. I would like for this app to have more options to do a quick workout and see all performance metrics. ### 2/5 — ERG Mode problem with latest update *2021-03-16, version 1.1.61* Been using magnus for zwift and everything was fine until the latest update- erg mode disappeared! I can toggle it so it should be working but i have to consciously maintain my power with cadence and gear now vs having it done for me. I bought a trainer last year, and I can no longer update the firmware because their app doesn’t support firmware updates anymore. I contacted support and they have no ETA on when it will be functional again. Very disappointed. ### 1/5 — App and company is dead. *2025-06-29, version 2.0.43* App and company is dead. Current firmware updated 2022 is 31.065 as listed on the website. But the Saris app has just worked flawlessly both for firmware updates and for calibration. (I have not tried it for ERG mode). I have a Hammer 1 Smart Trainer and am using Bluetooth connected to an older IPad. Embarrassed to say how long I was using the trainer before finding out it needs to be calibrated... ### 5/5 — Update fixed issues *2020-04-23* Latest update has everything working like it should. Pretty sure all the one star reviewers are useless with technology.
