## What is Sauce?

One African proverb every morning, and what it can change about your day.

"The night has ears." "Patience can cook a stone." "One hand does not raise a child." Short sentences, passed down for generations by the Maasai, the Yoruba, the Wolof, the Sukuma and dozens of other peoples. Sauce brings you one a day.

PILI'S TAKE
Every proverb comes with a short note from Pili: where the saying comes from, what it means, and how to use it today. No lecture, just context.

PICKED FOR WHERE YOU ARE
Tell Sauce what your spirit seeks (patience, leadership, community, resilience) and which season you're in: starting something new, going through a hard stretch, enjoying the harvest, or needing rest. Your daily proverb follows.

A MORNING RITUAL
Pick your time and Sauce sends a gentle reminder with the day's proverb. Keep your streak going, and look back on every past day.

SHARE IT
Turn any proverb into a post or a story, on backgrounds inspired by kente, bògòlan, wax and Ndebele patterns.

KEEP THE ONES THAT SPEAK TO YOU
Save your favorites and come back to them anytime.

166 PROVERBS, 96 PEOPLES, 34 COUNTRIES
Every proverb is sourced and credited to the people it comes from, from Ethiopia to Senegal, Morocco to South Africa.
