At least I can use the online version for local news. ### 2/5 — Day old bread? *2022-08-21, version 3.33.13* The new version is a great improvement over the previous version (which often wouldn’t even load) but it needs to have the features of the WSJ app to be really good. It’s okay for me, but not feasible for my technology challenged husband. Sad state the SMN has sunk to. “Stale news”. Two days post happening. Poor customer service. Is this some technological impossibility? If you’re gonna strip away so much of our beloved local content, can you at least provide an updated app that works consistently? I have to close out and try again. I’m in. But that’s the easy part. The tap to magnify only works half the time. The pages freeze. The single article view freezes. Right now I’m stuck on an article and will have to close out and start over. So frustrating. It will not stay on topic long enough to read a story. Even for subscribers, you never know what you will be able to access from day to day. Come on Savannah Morning News . As numerous others have mentioned, it is next to impossible to get logged in on this app. Instead, it presents you with an endless loop of blank login screens, even after having entered your correction credentials. It has become such a pain that I will soon be cancelling my subscription. Having moved to an undeliverable hard copy address we count on the iPad version. Same as the other reviewers we have to give our password everyday and then the front page freezes so we then have to reboot. Constant log ins followed by frozen screens are the norm. Often you cannot read the news when you want to. I can’t get past the login screen. As large as Gatehouse Publishing is they ought to be able to put out an app that works! ### 1/5 — Issues with logging in *2019-07-19, version 3.3.0* I changed my password today and am still unable to login. The app appears to accept the password and attempts to load the News, but then returns to the login page. I have turned my phone (an iPhone 8) off and back on, but can still not access the site. Better rendering. Index is fast too. *2023-02-25* Been using the reader for years. Pretty reliable. Used to have blurry pages sometimes until I reboot the iPad, but now pages render sharp. The Boston Globe is often heralded as one of the best papers in the country, as are the New York Times and Washington Post, all of which I read on line. But the first paper I read each day is my Savannah Morning Herald because it’s local, national and international articles are informative, succinct and every bit as important to me. I also appreciate the editorial balance of perspectives, something I can’t count on from the other papers I read.
