## What is Savorist?

Savorist is your complete culinary companion — recipe catalog, AI chef, cookbook, food scanner, and discovery engine, unified into one beautifully crafted experience. It's not just where you save recipes. It's where your entire food life lives.

A Recipe App That Does Far More: Yes, Savorist has thousands of carefully curated recipes you can save with one tap. But that's just the beginning. Most apps stop at "recipe database." Savorist starts there.

Save Anything. From Anywhere: You've been losing recipes for years — across screenshots, bookmarks, browser tabs, and saved social posts. Savorist ends that. • Import from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and any food blog. Just paste a link. • Scan any dish, menu, or cookbook page with your camera. Savorist reads it and builds the full recipe. • Share any recipe from any app on your phone directly to Savorist.

In seconds, every recipe you've ever loved lives in one beautifully organized place: your Journal.

Meet Savannah — Your Personal AI Chef Savorist's AI isn't a chatbot bolted onto a database. Savannah is a real cooking partner.

Ask her what to make with what's in your fridge. Get an instant substitute when you're missing an ingredient. Learn what makes a sauce silky vs. grainy. Or just say, "What should I cook tonight?" She remembers the conversation, understands the context, and gives you real answers — not generic lists.

Cook Hands-Free with Cook Mode When it's time to actually cook, Cook Mode takes over. Step-by-step voice-guided cooking, your screen stays on, your place is held, and you can talk back — ask Savannah a question mid-step, ask her to repeat, or request a substitute right now. No more flour-coated phones.

Meet LENS — Point your camera at any packaged food and get the truth in seconds. • Scan by barcode or snap a photo of the ingredients label • Get a 0–100 Savorist Health Score and an at-a-glance tier — Great, Good, OK, Poor, or Avoid • Understand the score, never just trust it: it's a transparent composite of processing level, Nutri-Score, additives, and organic status, and we show you the full math

Discover, Don't Just Search The Explore feed learns what you love. Find dishes inspired by ones you've already saved with Similar Recipes. Watch your Flavor Map grow — an interactive world map that turns your cooking life into a journey worth seeing. Search globally and instantly by cuisine, dietary preference, ingredient, or occasion.

Organize Your Way Build custom Savorist Lists for every mood, season, or moment — weeknight dinners, party starters, weekend projects, food gifts. Your library, beautifully arranged.

Why Savorist Is Different Other recipe apps feel like databases. AI cooking apps feel like gimmicks. Savorist is what happens when both are reimagined together — a premium recipe catalog, hands-free voice cooking, camera and link-based recipe import, a real AI companion that grows with you, a journal that finally makes sense, and a flavor map that turns cooking into a journey.

Everything in one app. Nothing missing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2026-07-15

Savorist keeps getting smarter. Savannah now remembers more about how you cook, plans ahead with you, and surfaces helpful nudges before you have to ask. We've polished discovery, hosting, and the path from recipe to table — plus performance improvements and a smoother experience across the app. Discover it. Save it. Cook it.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-06-04

Introducing Lens and smarter recipe importing.

New: Lens Wondering how clean a packaged food really is? Now you can find out in seconds. • Scan any product by barcode or just snap a photo of the label • Get an instant 0–100 Savorist Health Score with a clear tier: Great, Good, OK, Poor, or Avoid • See exactly why your score is a transparent blend of processing level (NOVA), Nutri-Score, additives, and organic status. Tap "Why this score?" to audit every point. • Browse the full ingredient breakdown to see what's actually inside • Save products you love and revisit your full scan history anytime • Tap "Use in recipe" to hand a product straight to Savannah for recipe ideas • A "limited data" flag keeps us honest when a product is thinly sourced

Better recipe importing • Imports from Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook reels now pull the creator's real recipe even when it isn't written in the caption • Imported cover photos are now clean food shots, with no play-button overlay on video posts • Faster, more reliable link imports across the board

Polish & performance • Showcase now scrolls endlessly through everything the community has shared • Smoother swiping between Explore, Savannah, Lens, Showcase, and Roundtable • Fixed duplicate and blank cards in your Journal

Thanks for cooking with Savorist. Keep the feedback coming.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-05-26

A polish-and-fix release shaped almost entirely by your feedback. Thank you for sending it in — keep it coming.

• Hearts that actually heart. Favoriting now works everywhere it should, including your own showcased recipes and anything in My Recipes. If you tap the heart, it stays.

• Delete a recipe from where you'd expect. Open any recipe you own, tap Edit, and you'll find a Delete option at the bottom of the editor — clean, confirmed, and no more digging through menus.

• A clearer Save Recipe sheet. The "Create New Savorist" pill no longer hides your last collection. You can now scroll past it and pick any Savorist on the list, including the one at the very bottom.

• Savannah's close button does the right thing. Tapping the close icon inside an active chat now returns you to Savannah's home screen instead of jumping you back to Explore — so a long conversation isn't one accidental tap away from disappearing.

Small things, but the kind of small things that make Savorist feel like it was built with care. More to come.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-05-15

This update improves the top-of-screen confirmation banners used after actions like saving recipes and completing imports: they dismiss on a consistent timer, can be closed with the X, a tap on the pill, or an upward swipe. Repeat “import completed” signals no longer keep the banner stuck on screen. We also added a non-blocking offline indicator when the device has no usable network connection, so users understand why AI, imports, or sync may not complete until they reconnect.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-05-07

Bug fixes and a smoother welcome.

Fixed a frustrating issue where some new accounts could get sent back through onboarding after signing up — your account, subscription, and saved recipes now lock in cleanly the first time around. We also tightened up a few visual details and made the sign-in step feel more natural for new sign-ups (it now reads "Continue with Apple" instead of "Sign in"). Thanks for cooking with us.
