## What is Savory?

Review the dish, not just the restaurant.

Savory is the food lover's guide to ordering with confidence. Star ratings judge a whole restaurant, but you don't order a restaurant - you order a
dish. Savory lets you rate and review individual dishes, so you know whether the pasta is actually worth it before you ever sit down.

Discover what's actually good.
Browse dish-level reviews from real diners - real photos, honest ratings, and straight takes on exactly what to order and what to skip. No more
guessing from a blurry 4.2-star average.

Share your favorites.
Found something amazing? Rate it, add a photo, and leave your take. Every review helps the next person order like a regular instead of a
  first-timer.

Personalized to how you eat.
Set your dietary needs and preferences once, and Savory surfaces the dishes that actually work for you. Vegetarian, gluten-free, allergy-aware -
see what fits before you go, and help restaurants accommodate you when you arrive.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.6 — 2026-08-21

Diners

  - Home carousels fill properly again, and dishes with real photos and
Savory ratings rank above thin ones.
  - Photos show at the aspect they were cropped at, so nothing is squashed or
    cut off.
  - A dish only shows as fitting a restriction when the menu says so for that
dish. "Fits only if modified" now names the modification.
  - Restaurants with an unconfirmed menu are badged.
  - Sign-up sends a verification email with a resend. Password reset works on
mobile. No more being asked for a username twice after signing in with
    Apple or Google.
  - Links in our emails open the app if you have it. Scanning a Savory code
    before installing carries through.
  - Restaurant pages are readable without an account, so shared links work.
  - Reports reach a real moderation queue.

  Restaurants

  - Confirm your menu when it's right. After that only a moderator can
    re-import it.
  - A menu import can't overwrite a correction you made or delete a dish.
Editing a dish no longer wipes its modifications, price variants, or
dietary tags, and a failed save changes nothing.
  - All price variants show in your dish list, not one arbitrary size.
  - Analytics load instead of timing out, and say so when a number couldn't
be fetched rather than showing zero.
  - Change a dish materially and you can set its earlier reviews aside.
Nothing is deleted, and the dish page says it happened.
  - You can report reviews on your own page.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-18

Menus come only from the restaurant itself. Menu data can now only be
imported from a restaurant's own website or its own ordering storefront.
Third-party delivery marketplaces are no longer used as a source, so
inflated delivery prices never appear on a listing. Every menu also records
where its data came from, and human corrections are now permanent against
  future automatic updates.

Restaurants can confirm their menu. A confirmed menu is protected from
automatic re-imports, backed by a moderator review queue and a daily
summary of what still needs attention.

Better discovery. Dishes are ranked by content quality, with confirmed
menus surfacing first, and the home feed fills more reliably.

Stronger moderation tools. Consolidated review queues, automatic detection
of duplicate restaurant listings, and expanded moderator permissions.

Accuracy and reliability fixes. Improvements across dietary labelling,
analytics reporting, photo handling, sign-in, and QR and link handling.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-24

- More accurate dietary labels - see exactly which dishes fit your restrictions
- Add iPhone (HEIC) photos to your reviews without a hitch
- Dishes now show ratings sooner, so you know what's good faster
- More reliable review posting and smoother sign-in
- A refreshed look across the app
- Performance, reliability, and security improvements under the hood
