## What is Sawm?

Sawm is the fasting app built for Muslims, and it happens to be a best-in-class general intermittent fasting tracker too. No subscription, no ads, no third-party tracking by default.

The timer ring tells you exactly where you are in your fast. Phase indicators surface what your body is doing through digesting, low blood sugar, fat burning, ketosis, and autophagy. Start, pause, edit, and review every fast you have ever logged.

For Muslims:

- Ramadan grid showing each of the 30 days at a glance, with completed, broken, and missed states
- Suhoor and Iftar times computed locally using the Adhan algorithm with thirteen calculation methods, including Umm al-Qura, Karachi, ISNA, Egyptian, MWL, Diyanet, MUIS, and others
- Madhab selector for accurate Asr time under Shafi or Hanafi
- Per-prayer manual offsets up to thirty minutes for fine-tuning to your local masjid
- Hijri date displayed throughout the app, with a two-day moon-sighting offset for local committees
- Sunnah fast calendar covering Mondays and Thursdays, Ayyam al-Bid, Arafah, Ashura, Tasua, and the six of Shawwal
- Hadith reference for every Sunnah event with Arabic, transliteration, English translation, narrator, source, and grading
- Authenticated Iftar dua from Abu Dawud
- Qadha tracker that automatically records makeup obligations when a Ramadan fast is broken for a qualifying reason, and lets you link a later fast to discharge it

Privacy:

Your fasting data, weight, water, notes, and location stay on your device by default. Apple Health sync is opt-in. Anonymous crash diagnostics through Firebase are opt-in and off by default. We do not sell or share your data. We do not run advertising. We do not require an account.
