Deleted my profile 1 day after upgrading to gold!! ### 1/5 — This app keep crashing *2022-03-16* This app is constantly crashing every couple minutes. ### 1/5 — Poorly Designed *2022-02-20* Slow, with many glitches, including inability to login. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2022-02-17* This is a terrible app, you must pay to be able to speak to a matchmaker. Without paying I’d get 3 offers within 6 months time. I paid for gold membership, spoke to a matchmaker about what I’m looking for, to be told, they’re picky and a waste of my time. I did get offers for more matches when I had gold subscription 5 within 1 month, but at the same time none work out. Very few actual users on here or the matchmakers don’t seem to be making appropriate matches. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2022-02-01* Don’t waste your time and money. They do not provide “matchmaker” type of service. It is the same as the free swipe apps in terms of luck actually getting compatible matches. Matchmakers don’t bother reading your preferences before matching you with someone. They also wait until you stop paying to send you a bunch of matches to entice you to pay again. Also horrendous customer service when you bring your concerns to them. ### 1/5 — Used car salesmen *2020-08-25, version 1.6* I used them in Israel. They have no interest in your personal preferences or goals and just seem to match you up with whomever and expect you to pay for that. Ridiculous. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Glitchy, largely useless *2026-07-01* frustrating site. Asks you a lot of info which set you up for high expectations, but issues with updating, issues with even opening the site, issues with reaching out to appropriate matchmakers, and one matchmaker literally couldn’t match a highly eligible bachelor with a single woman in their 20s or 30s in all of New York City?! Seriously?! Even if they were Quasimoto unattractive, (they weren’t!) how do you not find a single match?! Had high hopes, but extremely disappointed! ### 1/5 — Edit: AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU’RE NOT ORTHODOX *2025-11-09* Very few matchmakers actually invest time into matchmaking. I reported something racists someone said to me, and they told me to find a different app. This is all in email and I’m happy to share my experience and evidence. ### 1/5 — Entirely dependent on matchmaker and their aptitude *2025-05-08* Since you only have a limited number of slots for matches, and matches sent + responses are horribly slow and often misaligned, the app has become, mathematically, a waste of time. I’m sure this service is great for many orthodox people, and some in other denominations. Alas, many people here have had their accounts set up by other people and don’t have full or authentic bios. As a result, you need to get on the phone and actually talk with them (like anyone) to determine whether there’s a true connection. The problem is that, to get to that point, the matchmakers need to send you people AND they need to reply to you. These are the two (VERY critical) bottlenecks: most Matchmakers seem to just send anyone who meets your criteria, regardless of what their bio says + the matches (at least for me and friends) take multiple days to reply to even set up time to speak or meet. ### 1/5 — 1/10 matchmakers really care *2025-04-09* If you’re not a conventional orthodox or reform, this service doesn’t increase the probability of meeting “the one”. Many of the matchmakers just read your bio (only some of it) and make a guess about who seems like a fit based on a few words in the other bio. Sadly, there are a non-trivial amount of matchmakers that actually care about finding the right match, but there’s no incentive for them to encourage others to do the same, and no substantial reward or incentive for others to actually care about reading bios since the probability of a match, and an actual reward, is low no matter what. I wish it was better, and I’d be happy to help them code a better system. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-08-20* Every single person I was matched with turned me down not worth it!!! ### 1/5 — New version is a train wreck *2024-01-28* The old app was bad, not user friendly, very few functions, but it worked for the most part. The new 3.0 update makes using the app painful and I cannot even see the pictures on the profiles anymore. There are many more functions, but who needs them if the whole thing doesn’t work? Unfortunately I got matched with people outside my criteria or already dated. I let them know, but they don’t respond and if you don’t like your matches you get locked out of the free version. Also, matches quickly “expire” so you may have much of a chance to get in touch with one that you desire. With no matchmaker responses it feels like they don’t even care if you match. ### 1/5 — Lol *2023-05-16* Joke ### 1/5 — Review of SYAS *2023-05-08* The shadchanim do not seem to invest any real time or effort looking for appropriate matches; rather they rely on an algorithm to do the work. Get matched once every few months to non-matches. It seems like many of the males need counseling/coaching and or have serious emotional/mental health issues. Many men have been divorced ten or more years and some divorces have actually made the headlines and/or are now considered case law. The shadchanim report that the quality of males is far lower than the quality of females. Caveat Emptor! Many don’t fit my criteria but I’m only looking for 1 solid connection. I’m going to upgrade to a paying membership to see how it goes. The crazy thing is, I’m known for being the opposite of picky. That’s my whole thing. But the matches they set me up with felt … insulting. And that was a first for me, ever. Like, come on. This is the exact reason why I never dated within the Jewish community: that practice within the frum community where if a girl reaches the shockingly ancient age of 29 they’ll rush to pair her with an unemployed & mentally ill 58 year old just to see her married because (gasp!) Anything is better than not being married! In the outside world, the topic of my illness is barely even a speaking point in dating, but here it was as if I were sent to a leper colony. ### 2/5 — App is horrible *2024-01-25* While the app led something to be desired before, it’s much better the way it was then it is now. To usability is terrible. It says if no one tested it before it was released. It’s slow and it logs out which the other never did.
