But I expected more controls, I used this to paste some cooking receipts on it, choose a very slow reading, ( sometimes it is laughing) and then start to cook while listen what to do. I loved it the way it could hear me, when I asked for stop and play. Why would it be good? Horrible and non using app ### 1/5 — Stopped working *2024-01-19* It’s a great app when it works. Now it freezes when I ask for “get audio.” After several requests for help from developer with no helpful response, I’m cancelling subscription and not recommending this app to anyone. ### 1/5 — Does NOT work on an iPad *2023-09-05* This app does not work on the iPad Pro, nor did the developer disclose that, at the time I opted for the three day free trial. Within 10 minutes, it was clear that the app was not going to work, so I deleted the app. The developer chose to bill me for it anyway. A programmer knows if someone deleted their app from their drive which should prompt a link to “cancel subscription” (even before the subscription started) when someone deletes the app. ### 1/5 — Barely works *2023-08-14* Setting your playback location doesn’t work, and it freezes for 10 seconds when you press play. It also doesn’t keep PDF formatting ### 1/5 — DOES NOT SYNCH TO OTHER DEVICES *2023-08-05* In addition to no stanching to other devices, there’s a learning curve and mislabeling. For example, to save audio you must click on “get audio.” If the app would synchronize to my iPad (Installed it on my iPhone.), I’d rate it at least 4 stars. ### 1/5 — Useless *2023-06-27* While the app is a good price at $3.99 a month or $9.99 a year, the app is useless. I can get past the fake unnatural sounding, robotic voice. What I can’t get past is the app won’t load anything from my book section. It will load individual files, but not anything from kindle or other ebook. To make matters worse, when I took a picture of the page to be read to me, it loaded the text in what looked like a foreign language, thereby making the text unreadable. I several pictures of different styles of texts, and not once did it convert the text into English or anything readable. The voice reading is terrible. The speed at which it reads is adjustable but when you slow in down the a conversational rate the word pronunciation is alway slowed. Sound terrible.
