But there is always some scope of improvement like the app design rather than bland page it can be more creatively designed for sure. After the first registration page and sending SMS message with key to the predefined number. The second page stuck with “authenticating....” message and nothing happens. I also deregistered in the online SBI and downloaded the SBI secureOTP app again to go through the registration process as per the instructions given on the help page. I have been with SBI for over 20 years. I have an NRO account with SBI. I was getting OTPs through SMS until I clicked on Secure OTP method on my internet banking. The app cannot be in installed on a non-India number. Be logical if someone forgot password and selected otp option as Secure otp in this app also asking to log in with password no option for reset password option in this app. Now In online sbi when I am trying to reset password then portal asking to give secure otp and I am unable to login here as I forgot password . SBI will never give you service as handy like other banks You have to reset password through branch only . Don’t just develop 3rd class products and leave for consumers to bang their heads on it. My account was locked for a day due to invalid password, and when I enter the right one the next day, the message on this app says “ your account have been locked for the day due to many attempts”. This won’t let me register again as well. How do you expect customers to login in this case, even with right password? But couldn’t find the new app in the app store. Honestly why SBI have to go with new apps all the time since they can fix or update the current app. Especially as an NRI customer these kind of changes are a big headache as we have to get OTP for all the updates and OTP for international numbers are not prompt. India is fast growing but at the same time our banks are putting more security features to make the life of a customer difficult.
